  • ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 Unites Dany’s Boozy Boys in Belfast

Team Dany just had a mini council meeting at a Belfast pub. No idea where Peter Dinklage was, but Tyrion Lannister would not appreciate missing this much alcohol.

“Game of Thrones” Season 1 and we have no knowledge of him returning in a flashback for the final Season 8, which is now filming. But he visited the Belfast filming headquarters recently to hang out with the showrunners and stars.

Momoa also just recently met up with Daenerys Targaryen herself, Emilia Clarke, in London. Fans raised their eyebrows to see Momoa head up to Belfast to visit with other GoT stars, but apparently he was only there for 24 hours. He spent part of that time with Dany’s new love interest — as of the end of Season 7 — Kit Harington, aka Jon Snow. Fans know that Jon is really a Targaryen, and actually Dany’s nephew, but Jon and Dany don’t know that key bit of intel just yet.

Check out the many photos Momoa shared on Instagram, with Harington, plus Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Rory McCann (The Hound), showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, and some of his own friends:

It’s good to see Tormund actor Kristofer Hivju again. If he’s in Belfast, that certainly suggests good things for his cliffhanger storyline, since they’re now several weeks into filming.

    Here’s Momoa’s caption:

“Unite the clans. 24hrs in Belfast GOT Super honored to once apart of this show. I love seeing all my friends and new ones @khivju your a f*cking legend Mad crazy love to Dan and David and Every one i saw i know u just started good luck with filming the greatest show in history have fun Aloha Drogo.”

The rest of the stars are filming GoT Season 8 and will continue to do so until next summer. The final season doesn’t have a premiere date yet on HBO, but we’re hoping for late 2018 over 2019. Kit Harington said he cried at the end of the table read, from the emotion of the story ending.

  • ‘Game of Thrones’ Actress Ellie Kendrick Still Doesn’t Know if She’s in Season 8

There’s nothing like “Game of Thrones” for keeping you in suspense — even if you’re an actor on the show.

The first Season 8 table read-through took place in early October, but it seems some cast members are still in the dark about their status. Ellie Kendrick told the U.K.’s Metro that she doesn’t know yet whether or not her character, Meera, will be involved in Season 8. The actress, who first appeared in Season 3, is waiting for a call to let her know either way.

“I wait for the phone to ring and then I find out,” Kendrick said of the process, “but it hasn’t rung so I don’t know.”

In spite of the uncertainty, she sounded rather calm about it, adding that she’ll find out “at some point.” That’s a stark contrast to the last time we saw her character on screen in Season 7, as she got pretty heated. Meera responded to an underwhelming good-bye from Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) with a fiery tirade, reminding him what she went through to deliver him to his family after traveling beyond the wall. If that ends up being her last appearance, at least it was a memorable one.

“Game of Thrones” Season 8’s premiere date hasn’t been announced yet, but the series’ return isn’t expected until 2019.

  • Wonder Woman Helped Bring Emilia Clarke and Jason Momoa Back Together

Mother of Dragons + Khal Drogo/Aquaman + Wonder Woman = Superhero Heaven!

“Game of Thrones” costars Emilia Clarke and Jason Momoa look like a blast to hang out with, and they just did it again. She’s currently filming the final season of “GoT,” and he’s promoting his debut as Aquaman in Justice League,” which also costars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

Clarke shared a photo with her first “GoT” love, as they shared some laughs in London. Momoa also shared photos with Clarke, along with Gadot.

The captions are everything, so don’t miss them:

Jason Momoa can’t seem to post without f-bombs, so read his caption for the photo above:

What a precious gift to the universe. He is truly a lucky man to be surrounded by such warriors.

You can tell that Momoa and Clarke are great buddies, even after just one season on “Game of Thrones” (plus cameos). Now her character, Daenerys Targaryen, is with her, um, nephew Jon Snow (Kit Harington).

Season 8 doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but we’re hopping for late 2018 over 2019. Meanwhile, “Justice League” is opening later this month, on Friday, November 17.

  • Maisie Williams Is ‘Excited’ ‘Game of Thrones’ Is Ending: ‘I Can Do Whatever I Want’

Q Awards 2017Production hasn’t even started yet on the eighth and final season of “Game of Thrones,” but many fans already can’t bear to think about what life will be like without the hit fantasy series. One person who’s excited for a post-“Thrones” world, however, is star Maisie Williams, who says she’s itching to begin her the next phase of her career.

In an interview with BBC Newsbeat, Williams, who plays Arya Stark on the HBO drama, discussed her plans for after the series wraps, and they involve immersing herself in her new production company, as well as working in the British independent film industry.

“On one hand it’s really nerve wracking to know that I won’t have that support blanket and safety net, but on the other hand I’m free,” the actress explained of shedding the show that made her famous.

Williams and the rest of the cast recently attended the first table read for season eight, but the actress said she’s enjoying her time off from filming for now. And in the meantime, she can’t help but think about her future.

“I’m really excited for ‘Game of Thrones’ to finish and there’s going to be time for me to do whatever I want,” the actress told Newsbeat. “That’s just incredibly exciting and it will be nice to pick roles that I want to do. I can show the world what sort of actress I want to be and shape my career a little bit.”

While we’re sad to see Williams and “Thrones” leave the airwaves, we’re excited to see what’s next for her, too. Season eight of “Game of Thrones” doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but with production reportedly delayed for star Kit Harington’s wedding, it probably won’t debut until sometime in 2019.

  • ‘Game of Thrones’ Fans ‘Shame’ the Internet With Epic #GoTHalloween 2017 Photos

Halloween night is dark and full of terrors, and A Girl is impressed.

No one has more fun on Halloween than “Game of Thrones” fans. Several days before today’s holiday, HBO sent a Twitter raven to remind fans to tag their Halloween photos with #GoTHalloween to share with the class:

Fans have been honoring the tradition with some fantastic costumes:

    Well done, all!

This time next year, the final season of “Game of Thrones” will be finished filming. It’s not clear yet when it will air on HBO. Probably not by this time next year, but — if that’s the case — it just means we have one more #GoTHalloween to look forward to before The End. Or at least until the spinoffs air.

  • ‘Game of Thrones’ Creators Like to Threaten Kit Harington in a Funny Way

'Gunpowder' Preview Screening PhotocallThe minds behind “Game of Thrones” are even more creative than we thought.

Star Kit Harington (Jon Snow) recently revealed that creators David Benioff and D. B. Weiss have an unorthodox method of keeping him in check — and it is absolutely hilarious. The actor explained to The Guardian that they have unreleased “Game of Thrones” footage that they’ve been holding over his head, and every once in a while, they threaten to unveil it.

As it turns out, the original “Game of Thrones” pilot didn’t turn out so well, and the episode had to be re-filmed. Harington says it was full of mistakes and “had nothing different about it.” Although he himself hasn’t even seen it, he doesn’t want anyone else to, either — a fact Benioff and Weiss like to use against him.

“They say, if I ever piss them off too much, they’ll release it on YouTube,” he told the newspaper. “Every now and then, they send me a screengrab, just as a threat.”

Brilliant, right? They don’t even have to say anything. Sure, it might be blackmail, if you want to get technical, but it seems like more of a joke than anything mean-spirited. The unreleased pilot can’t be that embarrassing, can it?

Unfortunately for fans, the footage will probably stay safely in the vault and we’ll never know.

  • Kit Harington ‘Cried at the End’ of ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 Read-Through: ‘I Know Everything Now’

Stop the presses because Jon Snow has gone from knowing nothing to knowing “everything.”

“Game of Thrones” Season 8, the final season, is now in production and will film those six episodes until next summer.

The cast held its read-through last week, and Kit Harington told “The One Show” in the U.K. that he’s now up-to-date on what happens.

“I’m really emotional about [the end],” Harington told the hosts (via Digital Spy). “We had the read-through last week, in fact, so I know everything now.

I cried at the end! It wasn’t anything particular that happens. You have to remember, I’ve done eight years of it. I think, no-one really cares about [Game of Thrones] more than us… It’s been an institution longer than any other institution I’ve been in. School, drama school, anything. I get a bit weepy thinking about it. It’s going to be to a strange year. Saying goodbye to everyone, having your last scene with this person or having your last scene with that person. Not only you’re attached to it, loads of people around the world are attached to it.”

68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - Press RoomThere was a rumor that the cast wouldn’t be able to read all of the scripts, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) told a whole story about getting lines fed in an earpiece, but that always seemed like a joke. Harington did confirm, though, that the show was put on lockdown in terms of The Powers That Be trying to avoid more set leaks. “[I was told], ‘Don’t tell them when you’re filming. Don’t take pictures in Belfast. Don’t do all of that.’”

Harington separately told Digital Spy, on the set of his new show “Gunpowder,” that “Game of Thrones” is ending at the perfect time:

“‘Thrones’ is coming to the end at the right time for me, and everyone involved in it. I was exchanging emails with [showrunners] David [Benioff] Dan [Weiss] last night and we were all getting very soppy and emotional with each other. It will be liberating, just the thought of having a whole year free – you shoot for six months, but half of the projects you might want to do will have started shooting before that six months is over. There’s a lot of things you can’t do. I’m looking forward to finishing, and eight years is the right amount of time. I wouldn’t want it to go on any longer than it has. I have other ideas I’d like to look at producing.”

It’s going to be exciting for fans, too, to see what the stars do after “Game of Thrones.” HBO must be nervous, though, although they do have an “embarrassment of riches” ahead in terms of the spinoffs.

“Game of Thrones” Season 8 is expected in late 2018 or 2019 on HBO.

  • Kit Harington Dressed as Jon Snow for a ‘Bad Taste’ Party, ‘Cause Rose Leslie Made Him

BRITAIN-ENTERTAINMENT-THEATRE-OLIVIER-AWARDSThe things we do for love.

“Game of Thrones,” and it’s clear Ygritte is still the boss of him. Harington recently proposed to Rose Leslie, who played the kissed-by-fire wildling, and apparently the newly engaged couple recently attended a 30th birthday party together. According to Vanity Fair, which shared details from Harington’s Heat magazine interview, the theme of the party was “bad taste,” and Harington ended up showing the ultimate “bad taste” by dressing as his own HBO character.

Here’s his story, via Vanity Fair:

“So I went to the one costume shop that was open, and the woman who worked there said, ‘You know, you really look like the guy from Game of Thrones, and I’ve got a Game of Thrones outfit.’ And she pulled out a Jon Snow costume, and Rose just whispered in my ear, ‘I won’t love you if you don’t wear it. … You should do it.’

The people bringing round canapés were looking at me, thinking, ‘You sad man! You’ve come dressed as your character.’ I think the woman in the shop realized who I was as I was leaving. But that’s even sadder: me going to a fancy dress shop and buying a Jon Snow costume.”

Ygritte always did know how to get her way. And Jon Snow still knows nuthin about saying no to her.

Harington and Leslie announced their engagement through an old-school ad in the paper. Harington revealed that he popped the question earlier than he originally planned, because he got so excited. He also told the “Game of Thrones” producers they now have to factor a wedding into the final Season 8 schedule. “[The cast] have all got to be there so the whole thing has got to shut down!’” He was joking, but … they may have to do that twice, depending on when his co-star Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) schedules her wedding to Joe Jonas.

“Game of Thrones” Season 8 is now in production, with filming scheduled to continue into next summer, for a premiere date to be revealed later. Probably 2019.

  • Roy Dotrice, ‘Game of Thrones’ Actor and Audio Book Narrator, Dies at 94

Game of Thrones” and his narration of the “A Song of Ice and Fire” audio books, has died. He was 94.

The British actor enjoyed a decades-long acting career on the stage, screen, and television, though he became well-known to fans of “Thrones” through his voiceover work on the audio book versions of the series’s source material novels, beginning with 1996’s “A Game of Thrones.” Dotrice’s narration of the George R.R. Martin novels earned him a 2004 spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most characters voiced by a single person in an audio book, accounting for a whopping 224 residents of Westeros.

His connection to the “Thrones” books led to a guest role on the hit HBO series, in which he starred as Wisdom Hallyne, the pyromancer, in season two. According to the BBC, Dotrice’s service in WWII inspired him to pursue an acting career, when he was taken as a POW, and performed concerts for his fellow inmates.

In film, Dotrice is most known for his turn as Mozart’s father in 1984’s Oscar-winning biopic “Amadeus,” as well as roles in “The Cutting Edge,” “Tales from the Crypt,” and “Hellboy II: The Golden Army.” On television, he appeared in series including the 1980s version of “Beauty and the Beast” and “Madigan Men.” He won a Tony award in 2000, a BAFTA award in 1969, and was awarded an OBE by Queen Elizabeth II in 2008.

A statement from the actor’s family said Dotrice “died peacefully on Monday October 16 in his London home surrounded by family, including his three daughters, grandchildren and great-grandson.” The actor was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Kay, in 2007.

  • HBO Is ‘Excited’ About the ‘Embarrassment of Riches’ ‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel Scripts

While five separate “Game of Thrones” prequel series probably won’t make it onto the air, HBO execs are very excited about all of the ideas for spinoffs that they’ve seen so far.

That was the word from HBO chief Richard Plepler, who briefly spoke about the future of all those percolating “Thrones” projects while accepting the Variety Vanguard Award at the annual Mipcom trade show in Cannes. Though he declined to delve into any specific detail about the developing series, Plepler said he was optimistic about all of the potential prequels.

” … [I]t’s a fantastic group of writers and talent, most of whom have lived inside the ‘Thrones’ eco-system so are very, very familiar with its intricacies,” he said. “I think we will find with this embarrassment of [writing] riches an exciting property for us to [move] forward with. We are looking [at] some things, I have read a couple of early bibles and I’m excited about what I’ve seen.”

That’s encouraging to hear, especially since HBO programming president Casey Bloys had previously cautioned fans that there was a good chance that only one spinoff idea, if that, would make it to the pilot stage, and even that wouldn’t guarantee that the show would actually be ordered to series. That statement may have been overly cautious, though, and with the news that “Thrones” source material author George R.R. Martin himself is personally working with the writers of all five prequels, we have even more reason to share Plepler’s excitement.

“Game of Thrones” is currently shooting its eighth and final season. It’s expected to hit HBO sometime in late 2018 or early 2019.
