  • Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet Had a ‘Titanic’ Reunion at the Golden Globes

The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards - ArrivalsLeonardo DiCaprio may have made headlines for his hilarious, eyebrow-raising side-eye of Lady Gaga at the Golden Globes, but there was another small moment featuring the actor that caught our eye last night.

DiCaprio and Kate Winslet staged a mini “Titanic” reunion during a commercial break, embracing and sharing a laugh as the cameras followed the crowd during a brief pause in the broadcast. The former costars, who are still BFFs after all these years, were likely discussing Winslet’s win of the Best Supporting Actress trophy for her role in “Steve Jobs.” Though she’d earned Globes before, Winslet’s win on Sunday was still a bit of a shock, and she and Leo were no doubt reveling in the surprise.

As he later showed with Gaga, Leo put his fabulous facial expressions on display during this brief encounter, too. Were they talking about his nervousness over his upcoming category, Best Actor in a Drama? We may never know, though of course, DiCaprio didn’t have anything to worry about: He won the trophy for his role in “The Revenant,” as expected.

In fact, eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed that the first person to hug him after his name was called was none other than Winslet. She may have let go at the end of “Titanic,” but she’ll never make that mistake again.

  • ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Dethrones ‘Avatar’ as No. 1 Movie Ever

UPDATE: It’s official. On Wednesday, January 6, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” officially passed “Avatar” at the box office to become the top-grossing movie in North America. Ever. As Variety reported, “…the seventh film in the space opera saga surpassed ‘Avatar’s’ $760.5 million lifetime gross in just 20 days of release.” Congratulations! Now on to the global title…

    Original post (1/4/16):

Spare a thought for James Cameron this week. He’s probably giving in to The Dark Side right about now, plotting revenge against director J.J. Abrams.

Abrams’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has already played the role of iceberg to Cameron’s “Titanic” as the second highest-grossing movie in domestic box office history (that’s what Jack gets for letting go), and Variety estimates that Episode VII will dethrone the real king of the world, “Avatar,” within a week.

    As Variety put it:

“Avatar” earned $760.5 million during its stateside run, and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has generated $740.4 million domestically after picking up $88.3 million over New Year’s weekend. It should take the crown from “Avatar” early next week.

That’s just the domestic haul, though. Worldwide, “The Force Awakens” is currently still No. 6 in history, but it’s quickly on its way to passing “Furious 7” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” and there’s expectation that it may pass “Avatar” at the global box office, especially if China gets behind it.
It’s OK, man. You had a good run.

Collider recently offered some domestic and global box office comparisons, so we know the milestones ahead:

  • Ryan Gosling Spits on a Baby During ‘Titanic’ Reenactment in ‘SNL’ Promo

Hey girl, you do not want to miss “Saturday Night Live” promos. Seriously, it’s like they’re Photoshopped. Gosling seems like an obvious fit for “SNL,” but he’s actually hosting for the very first time this Saturday, December 5. If the actual show is as good as even one of the promos with Gosling and SNL-er Aidy Bryant, then we’re in for a hot night.

Here are Ryan and Aidy in a series of previews for the Dec. 5 show, which features musical guest Leon Bridges:

As you can see, they went the obvious route by having Aidy crush on Ry-guy, but then took things to a less expected level with the pec wailing and choosing to reenact THAT particular scene from “Titanic.” Best part: “Oh my god. I just spit on a baby.” [RUNS]

If you want to know what else Gosling has been doing with his time, People recently shared an exclusive first photo from his upcoming movie “The Nice Guys” with Russell Crowe, so you can check out their retro fabulous looks.

Will you be watching Gosling host SNL for the first time this weekend?

  • The 50 Best ’90s Movies Ever Made, Ranked

    %Slideshow-341222%
Bullet time. DiCaprio. Tarantino. These are just some of the gifts Hollywood’s run of ’90s movies gave us.

The decade was pretty much “Year One” for several actors-turned-huge stars (think Brad Pitt); it also delivered two of the best movies in the history of time. Sure, not all of the decade’s films were pearls (we’re looking at you, “Mouse Hunt”) but it did give us many a DVD worthy of placement on our shelves.

From “Titanic” to “Clueless,” here are the 50 best movies from the ’90s, ranked — based on overall film quality, its cultural impact and legacy, and that ol’ chestnut, Editor’s Choice.

  • This Swedish Guy Looks Exactly Like ’90s Leonardo DiCaprio

leonardo dicaprio, konrad annerud, swedish leonardo dicaprio, leonardo dicaprio dopplegangerEveryone dreams of who they think might play them in a movie about their lives; for one Swedish man, though, there’s an obvious answer.

Twenty-one-year-old Konrad Annerud is a bartender who happens to look exactly like a “Titanic“-era Leonardo DiCaprio. Don’t believe us? Just check out this shot from his Instagram feed:

Uncanny, right? We’re not the only ones who think so. According to Annerud — who’s amassed more than 47,000 followers on Instagram — he’s constantly bombarded with comments about his appearance, especially at the nightclub where he bartends.

“It can be quite annoying sometimes when people call me ‘Leo’ instead of my real name,” Annerud told website nyheter24.se. “But it’s fun to look like him, I mean, he’s handsome.”

It wasn’t so fun, though, on a recent vacation, as Annerud explained to the site.

“When I was in Italy this summer, I almost felt like shaving my hair off,” Annerud told nyheter24.se. “It was very chaotic; people were yelling ‘Leo’ and wanted to take photos with me all the time. It was one of the craziest things I’ve ever experienced.”

Check out some more photos of the genetically-blessed bartender below.

  • 8 Reasons ‘Titanic’ Is Still the Best Love Story of the ’90s

    %Slideshow-324543%
“Saturday Night Live,” this movie has everything. If it were a club, it would be New York’s hottest one.

Here are eight reasons it is still our favorite love movie of the ’90s.

  • ‘Jurassic World’ Is New Fastest Film to Reach $1 Billion, Besting ‘Furious 7’

Furious 7” just wasn’t fast enough: “Jurassic World” has officially lapped that film as the fastest flick to earn $1 billion at the international box office.

In the race for box office records, it seemed “Furious 7” would be hard to beat. But like a hungry Indominous Rex, “Jurassic World” has been chomping up records left and right since its June 12 debut, first scoring the biggest worldwide opening weekend of all time, then the biggest domestic opening weekend of all time. And while “Furious 7” achieved the jaw-dropping milestone of racing to $1 billion in only 17 days — besting previous champs “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2” and “The Avengers” — apparently that was just too long for “World,” which blew past that impressive feat in just 13 days.

As Forbes reports, “World” has been on an insane trajectory since its release. It sat at the 75th all-time spot on the global box office charts on Friday, before leap-frogging up 52 spots on the list by weekend’s end. On Sunday night, it sat at around $981 million, and reached the sweet, round $1 billion mark on Monday, placing it at number 22 on the all-time list — and rising.

It seems that the sky’s the limit for “Jurassic World,” and TheWrap wonders if it has enough momentum to take on the top of the all-time list: “Avatar” ($2.8 billion) and “Titanic” ($2.2 billion). At this point, “World” should easily slide into the top ten on the chart, though those are some huge numbers near the peak. Still, “World” has already proven that it can beat Marvel, so the sky is really the limit for this flick; its real competition will be out later this year (hey there, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”!).

Stay tuned. There’s certainly plenty more money — and plenty more records — to be made.
