  • Kate Winslet & Leonardo DiCaprio Still Quote ‘Titanic’ Lines to Each Other

88th Annual Academy Awards - Backstage And AudienceIt’s been 84 20 years since “Titanic” was king of the world, but the love between Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio still shines up like a new penny. Sure, their love has never been romantic in real life, as far as we know, but it is true love, and it has lasted a lot longer than their other relationships.

Leo and Kate are both in their 40s now, and they still hang out together. Speaking of their hang-out time, Winslet teased fans with some fly-on-the-wall gossip in a new interview with Glamour UK:

Kate Winslet on… her friendship with Leonardo DiCaprio…

“You don’t even want to know the last conversation we had, because it was so funny and made me laugh so much. We found ourselves saying to each other, ‘Can you imagine if the world really knew the stupid things we say?’ I’m not going to tell you what we actually talk about, but yeah, we’re very, very close and sometimes we do quote the odd ‘Titanic’ line back and forth to each other, because only we can, and we find it really funny.”

Sigh. The preteen girl inside us just squeeeed loud enough to burst an iceberg.

After “Titanic,” Kate and Leo co-starred as an unhappily married couple in “Revolutionary Road.” You may recall watching them promote that movie on “TODAY,” continuing to gush about each other when talking about how much they had changed, physically, since “Titanic.”

Kate: “Well, I think I can speak for both of us: we have a lot more wrinkles. Don’t we, darling? I’m proud of him, though. I can’t say that you’re taller, because you were always tall. He’s a man now; look at him — he’s just bigger. Physically you aren’t that different; you’re just less puny.”

Leo: “She’s still as beautiful and radiant as the day I met her. She is the consummate professional; she keeps pushing herself to an emotional truth when she’s working. That’s why I keep saying she’s the best.”

She is the best. She’s also his best support system. You must remember how thrilled Kate was for Leo’s many award wins for “The Revenant” last year:

Here’s to 20 more years of friendship. May they stay foreeeever this waaaayyy, safe in their hearts, as their hearts go on and on.

Kate’s new movie, “The Mountain Between Us,” opens October 6.

  • Billy Zane Shares ‘Titanic’ Reunion Photo With Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet

TitanicTwenty years after making one of Hollywood’s biggest epics, “Titanic” stars Billy Zane, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet reunited this week.

Zane shared a photo from Wednesday night’s gala event in France with Leo and Kate, saying, “Gang’s back together. Now we’re saving icebergs. Go figure.” (Sadly, this seems to be the only photo of the trio from the event.)

Of course, in the 1997 blockbuster, Zane and iceberg were both bad news for Leo’s character Jack. But now Leo is dedicated to raising money for the environment, including icebergs.

The occasion was a fundraiser for Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, which the Oscar-winner founded in 1998 for “the health and well-being of all Earth’s inhabitants, focusing on wildlands and oceans conservation, climate change and indigenous rights.”

The much-hyped private dinner with Leo and Kate was auctioned off the same night, but the name of the bidder, and how much they paid for the privilege, has not been announced.

  • ‘America’s Got Talent’: Watch Adorable 9-Year-Old Named After Celine Dion Nail ‘Titanic’ Song

Near, far, wherever you are, you’ll melt for little Celine Tam, whose “America’s Got Talent” audition video already earned more than 10 million views in a “leak” days before her episode aired.

Tam, age 9, appears in Season 12, Episode 4, airing Tuesday, June 20 (aka tonight), but the NBC reality show teased her song in a clip posted to YouTube on June 16, ending just before the judges’s comments. (They’re going to be good, especially from Mel B.)

Celine Tam came to the auditions with her family, including her parents and younger singer, Dion. Yep, both Celine and Dion were named for the legend Celine Dion, and of course young Celine sang the “Titanic” ballad “My Heart Will Go On” for her audition.

Watch the video:It’s so sweet to see her parents tear up backstage.

Some fans get tired of seeing singers on AGT, since there are other opportunities for singers outside of this particular reality show. But come on. This one was cute, right? Maybe she’s not the next Celine Dion herself, but the real one must be beaming with pride out there.

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.

  • James Cameron Sued by Man Who Claims He Inspired ‘Titanic’

It’s been 84 20 years since “Titanic” came out, but some (head-scratch-worthy) lawsuits never let go.

Last night, Celine Dion wowed the 2017 Billboard Music Awards audience by singing her famous “Titanic” song, “My Heart Will Go On.”

Meanwhile, TMZ posted a report that writer/director James Cameron is being sued for $300 million (plus 1 percent of royalties) by a Florida man who claims “he’s the inspiration for Jack Dawson,” played by Leonardo DiCaprio. At least, that’s how TMZ phrased it, but they probably just mean the guy claims he inspired the main love story, including Kate Winslet‘s character, Rose. The guy who filed suit, Stephen Cummings, probably doesn’t think he’s the real Jack Dawson since — 20-year-old spoiler alert — that guy died when the ship went down.

TMZ referenced the legal docs, which claim James Cameron heard about Cummings through word-of-mouth, after events that took place in Brevard County in 1988 and 1989, and Cameron used Cummings’s story for the 1997 film.

    As the site reported:

“The ex-‘yacht master’ also says the depiction of the Titanic sinking was NOT based on history, but instead on stories he told friends about 2 of his relatives who were aboard the real doomed ship. You probably guessed — the wife survived, the husband did not.

Of course, 1,517 souls were lost that fateful 1912 night … so we’d imagine there are more than a few such stories.”

There’s no word on why this guy would wait so long to file a lawsuit, but maybe he wanted to piggy-back on the 20th anniversary. So far, the suit is being met with “good luck with that” laughter, and if this is really all he has, he really does not have much. But at least he’s making it count?

  • ‘Titanic’: James Cameron Explains Why Rose and Jack Couldn’t Both Fit on the Floating Board

“Titanic” turns 20 this year, but even two decades hasn’t been enough time for fans to get over one important issue: whether or not Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) could have made it out of the icy water alive.

It’s a fair question. In the film, Jack has Rose (Kate Winset) climb aboard a floating door, while he stays in the water — a choice that doesn’t end well for him. Many fans over the years have questioned why he couldn’t have fit on the door as well, and “MythBusters” even investigated whether or not it would have worked. The episode concluded that while their weight would have been too great to keep the wood afloat, they could have gotten creative and rigged their life jackets to it.

Recently, however, the filmmaker, James Cameron, settled the issue once and for all. During a Daily Beast interview, he explained why he thinks “MythBusters” is “full of s–t.”

“Let’s really play that out: you’re Jack, you’re in water that’s 28 degrees, your brain is starting to get hypothermia,” Cameron said. “‘Mythbusters’ asks you to now go take off your life vest, take hers off, swim underneath this thing, attach it in some way that it won’t just wash out two minutes later.”

Put like that, it does sound pretty unlikely. Rigging it would be especially difficult with freezing, numb hands, and in the meantime, they’d both be in the water without life jackets on. Alas, the time for denial is over.

Ultimately, it doesn’t matter if they theoretically could have both survived. The fact of the matter is, Jack had to die because that’s the story they were telling.

“Look, it’s very, very simple: you read page 147 of the script and it says, ‘Jack gets off the board and gives his place to her so that she can survive,’” Cameron said. “It’s that simple.”

Rose let go, and now we need to, too. RIP, Jack.

  • 23 Great Movies We Wish Were on Netflix

%Slideshow-373501%It would be great if every movie ever was on Netflix all the time. Alas, that is not the case. Because streaming rights.

To narrow it down just at tad, there are a few movies — and movie series — that we would love to be able to watch at a moment’s notice. Think “The Avengers” and, duh, “Titanic.”

Here are our favorite movies that we wish we could add to our queue.

  • 19 Sacred ’90s Movies That Hollywood Should Never Remake

%Slideshow-371057%As we get farther and farther from the ’90s, it’s inevitable that we’ll see more remakes — or reboots — of movies we loved from that decade.

We all saw how the “Point Break” remake went, and, well, yeah, we wouldn’t wish that fate on any of our favorite films. So we’re telling Hollywood to leave beloved ’90s films such as “Titanic” and “Pretty Woman” alone.

We’re happy to watch these films over and over and over as they are, so please, no remakes!

  • Kate Winslet Admits Rose Could’ve Saved Jack in ‘Titanic’

TitanicShe didn’t have to let go.

Since the 1997 release of “Titanic,” fans have been wondering whether Rose (Kate Winslet) really had to let Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) slip into the icy waters to freeze to death. Now, Winslet has admitted Rose probably could’ve saved her star-crossed lover, simply by sharing.

“I think he could have actually fit on that bit of door,” she said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

The question of the door came back up when Winslet gave DiCaprio a big hug at the SAG Awards after her former co-star won the Best Actor trophy for his role in “The Revenant.” That ignited a flurry on Twitter, with fans joking that they should “Never let go.”

“People are always so excited to see Leo and myself in the same space, which at the end of the day, that’s so lovely,” Winslet told Kimmel. “It’s been 20 years and people still get such a kick out of it. It’s really quite endearing.”
