  • Peter Dinklage: Tyrion Is ‘Bracing Himself’ for Lannister Family Reunion

And you thought your family reunion was a cringefest. Imagine the Lannister family reunion!

On “Game of Thrones,” Tyrion Lannister hasn’t seen sister Cersei or brother Jaime since the end of Season 4, when he escaped the dungeons to flee to Essos. Then, he was captured by slavers, convinced Daenerys Targaryen to take him on as an advisor, ruled Meereen in her absence, and at the start of Season 7, is journeying back to Westeros as Hand of the Queen.

Once he arrives, he faces a difficult reunion with his siblings. As Peter Dinklage told Entertainment Weekly, Tyrion “is bracing himself.”

“He’s returning home, and returning home a new person. He has Dany and the dragons on his side but he is a very different person than when he left this place,” Dinklage said. And he’s returning to a brother he loves and a sister he …”

Despises? Wants dead? Thinks is a nutjob? All of the above?

Like his castmates, Dinklage has found his time on screen is multiplying in Season 7.

“I’ve worked more days this season than I have in quite some time,” he noted. “I love Meereen but it’s good to get out of Meereen because you’re in one story and here you’re in overlapping stories.”

“Game of Thrones” Season 7 premieres Sunday, July 16 on HBO.

  • Jason Momoa & Peter Dinklage Had the Most Badass ‘Game of Thrones’ Reunion

Tyrion Lannister and Khal Drogo probably would’ve had this much fun together, if they had ever met on “Game of Thrones.” Instead, actor Jason Momoa left after Season 1, and he’s now part of the DCEU as Aquaman, while Peter Dinklage prepares for his seventh season of Tyrion one-liners. But their GoT characters are both Team Dany, and the stars are clearly buds in real life. They’re also big Guns N’ Roses fans, and it looks like they bonded with the band and friends at a recent London concert.

Here’s how Momoa captioned the first photo below:

“LEGEND. SLASH. @slash @dannyminnick the adventures of me and Pete #gnrforlife #f*ckingslash aloha j”

OK, now we demand a GoT spinoff following “the adventures of Jason and Pete,” traveling to concerts around the world. HBO, get steppin’.

Here’s that photo, and more from the wild lads:

FYI, according to Screen Rant, it looks like Jason Momoa is done with his “Justice League” reshoots, and may be heading back for more on “Aquaman.” That’s based on this Instagram from Danny Minnick:

“Justice League” opens November 17. “Aquaman” is scheduled for release December 21, 2018. “Game of Thrones” Season 7 premieres Sunday, July 16 on HBO. You should also check out the first photo from Dinklage’s upcoming movie with Jamie Dornan.

  • Who the Heck Is Peter Dinklage Playing in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’?!

“Game of Thrones” star Peter Dinklage has been cast in an unspecified role.

Marvel Studios may not be saying much, but we have a few ideas as to what characters Dinklage could be playing as the Avengers head into space to battle Thanos. Scroll down to check out our theories.

    1. M.O.D.O.K.
M.O.D.O.K.’s name stands for “Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing,” and you can get a pretty good idea of his personality from that. Basically a gigantic head with a penchant for murdering minions with his forehead laser, M.O.D.O.K. is one of the primary leaders of the science terrorists known as AIM.

We saw a version of AIM. in “Iron Man 3” led by Guy Pearce‘s Aldrich Killian, but we want to see the group’s true lord and master enter the fray.

    2. Eternity
As “Infinity War” delves deeper into Marvel’s cosmic elements, it only makes sense that moviegoers will start to be exposed to some of the more powerful entities that pull the string of the Marvel Universe.

We could see Dinklage and his soothing voice easily filling the role of Eternity, the ageless being who exists everywhere at once and can reshape reality at a whim, especially with Benedict Cumberbatch‘s mystical hero Doctor Strange playing such a big role in this sequel.

    3. Starfox
With Thanos stepping into the spotlight, we’re hoping we’ll get to meet the rest of the Mad Titan’s family in “Infinity War.” Dinklage would be a perfect fit to play Thanos’ estranged brother and occasional Avenger, Starfox.

Starfox spends most of his time drinking and womanizing when he isn’t saving the universe, and we can think of a certain other Dinklage character who matches that description.

    4. Pip the Troll
Pip the Troll is perhaps the most obvious choice for Dinklage, given the actor’s short stature. Perhaps too obvious, but the fact that Pip is so closely tied to Thanos does make it a likely possibility. The mischievous Pip is a frequent sidekick to Adam Warlock, one of Thanos’ greatest enemies and another character we assume will play a central role in “Infinity War.”

    5. Arno Stark
Given Dinklage’s knack for playing sarcastic, charismatic characters, he reminds us more than a little of Robert Downey Jr.‘s Tony Stark. Why, they could almost be brothers. So why not take the opportunity to cast Dinklage as Arno Stark?

Originally an evil Iron Man from the future, Arno was recently re-imagined in the comics as Tony’s long-lost brother. We’d love to see the two Starks join forces on the big screen.

    6. The Watcher
The Watcher is an immortal being cursed to observe all events in the universe but never interfere. A rule which he sometimes breaks when the situation is dire enough (for instance, when Thanos is trying to assemble the Infinity Gauntlet).

There’s been speculation that Stan Lee has actually been playing The Watcher in his various cameo appearances, but we think Dinklage would be perfect to play another character whose main skill is “knowing things.”

We’ll find out when “Infinity War” hits theaters Summer 2018.

  • Peter Dinklage Eyed for ‘Key Role’ in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Premiere Of HBO's 'Game Of Thrones' Season 6 - ArrivalsMore wine! “Game of Thrones” star Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) is in early talks for a key role in “Avengers: Infinity War.” That’s what sources told Variety, and we can only hope that level of awesome achieves reality. Dinklage played the (wonderfully retro) villain in Fox’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past” but he would be a newcomer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“Infinity War,” which comes out May 4, 2018, will task the Avengers with battling Josh Brolin’s Thanos. Other MCU heroes are meant to join the mix — including Doctor Strange, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and Spider-Man — but Dinklage’s role remains a mystery, for now. (Please let him have witty banter with Tony Stark. Please. Please. Please.)

Don’t you worry about Tyrion Lannister, though — more than you would anyway, that is. According to Variety, since the schedule for “Game of Thrones” has moved from a summer start to fall, the actor still has time to go from the third “Avengers” movie (which is expected to shoot early this summer) to the final Season 8 of GoT (which starts shooting in September). However, Variety added that “Production on the seventh season of ‘Game of Thrones’ recently wrapped,” which is not true. The show is filming until the end of February. Maybe they meant Dinklage’s role has wrapped for Season 7, which … well, let’s not worry about that yet.

You don’t stare at a man’s coconut, Chuck! Island outsiders Red, Chuck, and Bomb had hoped to get help from Mighty Eagle to figure out what’s going on with the mysterious green piggies who suddenly arrived, but Mighty Eagle is clearly just interested in talking about Mighty Eagle.

  • ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 Gag Reel Shows the Irony of ‘Benevolent’

After “Game of Thrones,” Peter Dinklage and Emilia Clarke should star in a comedy together. They are hilarious, and it is a joy to watch them eff up their lines in this GoT Season 6 blooper reel.

“Game of Thrones” will not start shooting Season 7 until late summer, and they’ll keep filming until February for a premiere in Summer 2017. So they didn’t have new season footage to show, but they did share a behind-the-scenes production video and a classic gag reel, with Dinklage struggling — repeatedly — to get out the word “benevolent,” and Clarke fighting to speak proper Dothraki. (Not that many fans would notice if she spoke improper Dothraki, although “f–k akakakakakak!” doesn’t quite sound authentic.)

Watch the 2-minute video here, which includes a special wink from Jon Snow, some lousy wood-chopping from the Hound, and a quality “fookin’ ‘ell!” from Theon:
Let’s just skip benevolent and go with “kind.”

    And here’s the Season 7 in-production tease:
While they didn’t have much to say about Season 7 at Comic-Con, the GoT cast and filmmakers did discuss Season 6, with Sophie Turner sharing more on the Jon Snow/Sansa rivalry.

Comic-Con International 2016 - "Game Of Thrones" PanelTurner said Sansa isn’t so keen on the Iron Throne anymore. Instead, she added, “[Sansa] believes they should both be King and Queen of the North,” Turner said. “I don’t believe she thinks Jon is capable of running Winterfell and the North.” Why not? “[Sansa] doesn’t think he has the intellect, the knowledge, and the experience that she has, and I concur.”

Hey, just because Jon was stabbed to death by the only people he’s tried to lead doesn’t mean he … OK, maybe it does. Keep an eye out for more Sansa vs. Jon action in Season 7.

  • ‘Game of Thrones’: Tyrion Is ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ in This Hilarious Mashup

Jonah Hill makes a great Bronn. Who knew? “Game of Thrones” got itself a new trailer, set to audio from “The Wolf of Wall Street,” in a clever new YouTube mashup. Peter Dinklage’s Tyrion Lannister is the star, as he should be, but all of his lines come from Leonardo DiCaprio’s Jordan Belfort.

Strangely enough, it fits, especially Bronn in the comedic sidekick role, but there are also great little laughing snippets for Jon Snow and Arya Stark. (Someone should’ve gotten the McConaughey treatment, though; The Hound could’ve taken on that “Wolf” chest-thumping speech in a mix with GoT’s chicken scene.)

    Check it out:
The YouTuber who made it, AFK Anthony, posted it as a follow-up to his “The Walking Dead”/“Deadpool” mashup, which remixed the AMC show as a Rick/Daryl buddy comedy set to “Shoop.”

Here’s that one:Nice. Fans who miss TWD and GoT should get details on the new seasons (especially for TWD Season 7) later this month out of San Diego Comic-Con.

  • 5 Best TV Shows to Watch With a Glass of Wine

Outlander on Starz“Everything’s better with some wine in the belly,” Tyrion Lannister tells Jon Snow in Season 1, Episode 2 of “Game of Thrones” (Peter Dinklage gets all the best lines).

He’s right, of course. Everything is better with wine — except maybe driving, operating heavy machinery, or listening to Adele — and TV shows are no exception. The worst day at work is bearable if you know that at approximately 8 p.m. you’ll be curled up on the couch with a giant glass of Bordeaux and three episodes of “Peaky Blinders” to watch. The combination of entertainment and wine is pure relaxation and a proper, grownup treat.

While most people understand matching wine and food, you can also pair your favorite TV shows with the right wines for the occasion. Here are five shows and the wines that complement them perfectly.

    1. ‘Broadchurch’ (2013 – )

When a young boy is found dead in the sleepy English coastal town of Broadchurch, detectives Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller (Broadchurch” needs a good strong red wine like an Australian shiraz. It’ll soothe you through some of the more disturbing scenes in a show full to the brim with creepy potential child-murderers.

    2. ‘Outlander’ (2014 – )

Someone seems to be drinking either wine or whiskey in almost every episode of “Outlander,” clearly as a tonic for the freezing Scottish weather. Caitriona Balfe‘s married nurse Claire Randall accidentally goes back in time to 1743 Scotland, just before the Jacobite uprisings. She falls in love with Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), and together they try to prevent the rebellion that will end in a massacre that’s the beginning of the end of Highland culture. Claire prefers “Rhenish wine” — and it’s what she got stinking drunk on in Season 1 — so German varieties from the Rhine region, such as Riesling, Liebfraumilch, or Dornfelder, give you the perfect choice for this time-traveling romance. If it’s good enough for Claire, it’s good enough for you.

    3. ‘Game of Thrones’ (2011 – )

“Game of Thrones” is another show where the characters seem to be drinking wine nonstop, especially Lena Headey‘s Cersei Lannister and Peter Dinklage’s Tyrion Lannister. A show this nerve-racking and violent needs a good, strong, robust yet delicious wine — a Rioja would be just the thing. What’s most important though is having a big wine glass — these characters are constantly slugging wine from huge goblets, so no teeny-tiny wine glasses will cut it. All that wine will make it easier when your favorite character inevitably gets slaughtered.

    4. ‘Dancing with the Stars’ (2005 – )

In direct contrast to so many dark TV dramas, “Dancing with the Stars” is an upbeat, cheerful, and highly addictive reality show that requires an upbeat, cheerful wine. Sip a dry Champagne to accompany the show’s snazzy costumes and sexy moves, because drinking bubbly always feels like a celebration. Sip when your favorite team wins, and drink even more if they lose — a good time is guaranteed either way.

    5. ‘The Real Housewives of New York City’ (2008 – )

“The Real Housewives of New York City” are well known for having wine-fueled fights — usually somewhere entirely inappropriate, like a children’s birthday party. All that’s needed to further enjoy this already very guilty pleasure is a bottle of ice-cold rosé. While the cast members have horrendous fights and toss glasses of wine at each other, smugly sip your crisp rosé and enjoy the drama. It doesn’t even have to be New York — any of the Housewives franchises, from Beverly Hills to Atlanta to New Jersey, could be substituted in this instance. The one thing they all seem to have in common is drinking rosé and throwing it at each other.

  • Peter Dinklage Gets Naked and Afraid of Leslie Jones on ‘Saturday Night Live’

“Saturday Night Live” hosting gig. It wasn’t exactly a classic show, but the “Game of Thrones” star really went for it, especially in two sketches: “Naked & Afraid: Celebrity Edition,” with Dinklage and Leslie Jones playing themselves, and the “Mafia Meeting” sketch, which is only worth watching for Dinklage and musical guest Gwen Stefani singing and dancing about space pants.

Here’s a horny Leslie Jones, spooning hard with Dinklage (and clasping his “warmest part”…) in “Naked & Afraid: Celebrity Edition”:

And here’s Dinklage’s amazing “space pants” song and dance:
Because he’s a GoT star, there was inevitably a “Game of Thrones” sketch, but unfortunately the dragon “sneak peek” wasn’t as strong as it should’ve been:
The actor also had a GoT-themed monologue but it was mostly about Bobby Moynihan as author George R.R. Martin, and didn’t really use Dinklage enough:
Russell Crowe is the next SNL host, on April 9, with Margo Price as musical guest. “Game of Thrones” Season 6 premieres April 24.

  • Watch Peter Dinklage Bring His Dry Wit to ‘SNL’ in Clever New Promos

Witty is coming! “Saturday Night Live” for the first time on April 2, with Gwen Stefani as musical guest. Dinklage plays brilliant badass Tyrion Lannister on “Game of Thrones,” which is launching its sixth season on April 24, and you can see the Emmy winner bring his sardonic humor to these SNL promos.

The series of clips just follow Peter and Cecily Strong looking out the window of the NYC building.

    Check ’em out:

In the first clip, they note that it’s a nice day outside. You know what spring means? Peter stares into the camera: “Summer is coming.” But he and Cecily agree that it’s not quite as scary as “Winter is coming,” and Peter barely even attempts “Autumn is coming” before giving up.

In a more flirtatious promo, Cecily says the flags outside are very beautiful. Peter looks in her eyes and agrees. “They are very beautiful. You know what?” He takes her hand; she giggles. “They’re almost as beautiful as … Gwen Stefani. She is so fine. She’s been, like, fine since the ’90s.” Jealous Cecily starts singing, “Don’t speak…” until Peter sings, “Don’t sing!”

Perhaps the best one is when they stare outside for a while, then suddenly realize it’s NOT a movie screen, it’s a window. “So this is not ‘Superman v Batman’?” Then again, the last one is pretty great, too, with Cecily saying Peter may be shocked to hear it, but she’s a “total” nerd, asking him, “You play Tyrone on Game of Thorns. How has that been for the past 10 years?” Peter bugs his eyes out in a classic “are you kidding me” face, then replies, deadpan, “Wonderful.”

So far, so good, at least from here. Will you be watching the show this Saturday?
