  • Vin Diesel Hints at 12th ‘Fast & Furious’ Movie

Just when you though the ‘Fast & Furious’ team had really, truly finalized plans to wrap the franchise up (while still, of course, leaving the car door open for future spin-offs etc.) with the already-announced 11th entry as a two parter with this week’s ‘Fast X’ along comes star/producer Vin Diesel teasing that there could well be at least one more movie.

Team ‘Fast’ headed to Rome shortly before the weekend for a big press event to promote the movie (which makes sense, since a chunk of the film takes place in the city).

Interviewed by Fandango about a possible future for the franchise, Diesel said this,

“It’s a really good question. As filmmakers, you want to allow people to enjoy the film without tipping the hat too much. I can say this. Going into making this movie, the studio had asked if this could be a two-parter. And after the studio saw this, part one, they said, could you make ‘Fast X’, the finale, a trilogy?”

Diesel and co-star Michelle Rodriguez wouldn’t be drawn on whether it’ll happen for sure, though Diesel did say, “probably”.

You can see the full video here:

Of course, even though Diesel has an awful lot of say over developments in the ‘Fast’ world, it’s up to Universal whether this actually happens. But we can certainly see the studio happy to keep its most successful franchise motoring.

Our guess –– and this is purely speculation –– is that executives are waiting to see the box office results of ‘Fast X’ before making any final decision.

    What happens in ‘Fast X’?

Directed by Louis Leterrier (who replaced Justin Lin) ‘Fast X’ picks up with Dom and his crew as they look to fend off the pair of big bads — the cyberterrorist Cipher (Charlize Theron) and her mysterious cohort, Dante (Jason Momoa), who, it turns out, has a link to another previous franchise antagonist, the drug kingpin Reyes, played in ‘Fast Five’ by Joaquim de Almeida.

Dante, as the trailers for ‘Fast X’ have already revealed, is the son of Reyes, and has spent the time since ‘Fast Five’ plotting his revenge against Dom and co.

Dom and the usual gang will need help of a new friend, Tess (Brie Larson), who has her own connections to a supporting ‘Fast’ character.

The cast for this one is typically sprawling and includes Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, John Cena, Jason Statham, Alan Ritchson, Nathalie Emmanuel, Michael Rooker, Helen Mirren, Daniela Melchior, Jordana Brewster, Cardi B and Scott Eastwood, Rita Moreno and Leo Abelo Perry.

And original franchise star Paul Walker’s daughter Meadow will appear in the film in a cameo to “honor” the legacy of her late father, as she revealed on social media last week.

‘Fast X’, as mentioned, is due in theaters on Friday. The 11th film (with Leterrier returning) has yet to announce a release date but is likely headed our way in 2025.

Furious 7‘ delivered high-octane action, daring stunts, and explosive car chases—but it was the film’s emotional tribute to Paul Walker that truly left a mark on audiences worldwide. In a behind-the-scenes look at the film’s final scene, we learn just how much care and heart went into saying goodbye.

After Paul Walker’s tragic passing in 2013, filmmakers faced the impossible task of completing the film while honoring his legacy. With the help of Paul’s brothers, Caleb and Cody Walker, and advanced CGI, the team recreated Brian O’Conner’s final moments. The now-iconic beach and drive sequence—where Dom and Brian share one last ride—was crafted with incredible precision and emotion.

Director James Wan revealed that this scene was rewritten multiple times to strike the perfect tone.

“It couldn’t just be a farewell to a character—it had to be a farewell to a friend,” Wan said.

The result is a powerful blend of real footage, visual effects, and heartfelt storytelling, set to Wiz Khalifa’s ‘See You Again’. The song itself became a tribute to Walker, topping charts and touching fans across the globe.

This exclusive scene remains one of the most memorable and emotional moments in the ‘Fast & Furious‘ franchise, reminding us that it’s not just about cars and action—it’s about family.

The Fast and Furious family has been incomplete since the loss of Paul Walker in 2013, but there’s talk of possibly bringing him back.

His brothers, Caleb and Cody Walker, hope to give him and his character, Brian O’Conner, one more ride, the Associated Press reports. The two previously had to stand in for their oldest sibling after he died in a tragic off-set car accident while “Furious 7” was still in production. They, with the help of CGI magic, were able to give their brother a moving send-off.

More recently, the two shared with the AP that they’d be interested in reprising the role, with Cody Walker adding the stipulation that it would have to “take a lot of thought” and “be tasteful.”

“I think there could potentially be a way to do it,” he said.

Caleb Walker was also interested, and in fact, he described it as a “dream.”

“I just hope we get to — I don’t know — have a little cameo and bring Paul back to save the day and I get to help create that again,” Caleb Walker told the AP. “That’s my dream and I hope we get to do that in one of the future movies.”

There are at least two more Fast & Furious movies on the way, so it’s possible there could be the opportunity. In the meantime, though, the focus seems to be on a spinoff starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham (much to the dismay of some in the cast). The offshoot is slated to hit theaters on July 26, 2019.

For now, Paul Walker fans can see him in the new documentary “I Am Paul Walker,” which premiered Aug. 11 on Paramount Network.

The tears will come fast and furious when you watch the first trailer for “I Am Paul Walker,” the feature-length documentary about actor Paul Walker’s life, which was tragically cut short when he died in a car accident in 2013.

The movie incorporates insanely cute home video of Walker as a child, footage of his work and time as a global superstar, and tributes from friends and colleagues, including “Fast and Furious” castmate Tyrese Gibson, director Rob Cohen, and manager Matt Luber. Family members  Cody Walker, Caleb Walker, Ashlie Walker, Cheryl Walker, and Paul Walker III, also appear.

The documentary follows his career, of course, from his early days on “Young and the Restless” to movies like “Varsity Blues” and “The Skulls” to becoming a lead in the mega blockbuster franchise “Fast and the Furious.” Walker died during filming of “Furious 7” and the movie was completed with his brothers standing in for him.

“I Am Paul Walker” opens in theaters August 11.

  • ‘Fast and Furious’ Stars & Fans Remember Paul Walker Four Years After His Death

Fast & Furious Europe PremiereLet no one say the “Fast” family has forgotten Paul Walker.

Walker played Brian O’Conner in “The Fast and Furious” franchise until a car crash took his life on November 30, 2013. He wasn’t quite finished filming “Furious 7” at the time; family, friends, costars, and fans were all left in shock.

Four years later, Vin Diesel (Dominic “Dom” Toretto) took a moment to honor his “brother” Pablo with this simple post:

    Four years…

Jordana Brewster, who played Walker’s “Fast” franchise love interest, Mia Toretto, shared this sweet note:

Tyrese Gibson (Roman Pearce) also gave a shout-out to Paul Walker:

Fans also honored the late star on the fourth anniversary of his death:

Walker’s now 18-year-old daughter Meadow just recently reached a settlement with Porsche connected to her father’s death.

Meanwhile, the “Fast” family has moved on, not only finishing “Furious 7” with Walker’s brothers, but continuing with “The Fate of the Furious,” and the upcoming movies “Fast 9” and “Fast 10,” plus a Hobbs spinoff.

“Fast 9” is scheduled for release April 10th, 2020.

  • Paul Walker’s Daughter Meadow Settles Wrongful Death Lawsuit Against Porsche

'Fast & Furious 5': Rome PhotocallPaul Walker died in November 2013 and his now 18-year-old daughter just reached a settlement with Porsche.

The “Fast and the Furious” actor was a passenger in a Carrera GT driven by his friend Roger Rodas at speeds between 80-93 mph, when the Porsche veered off the road into a lamp post and tree. The car burst into flames, and both men died. Meadow Walker, who was 15 at the time of her father’s death, already received a $10.1 million settlement in 2016 from Rodas’ estate.

Meadow sued Porsche in 2015, alleging her father would still be alive if the company had installed proper safety features. Meadow’s lawyers claimed, in court documents referenced by People, that Porsche knew that the Carrera GT had a history of instability and control issues and “failed to install its electronic stability control system,” which they claim was “specifically designed to protect against the swerving actions inherent in hyper-sensitive vehicles of this type.”

Porsche had responded to the lawsuit in 2015, saying, “As we have said before, we are very sad whenever anyone is hurt in a Porsche vehicle, but we believe the authorities’ reports in this case clearly establish that this tragic crash resulted from reckless driving and excessive speed.” They also alleged that Walker knew the car he was getting in, and knew the risks of riding at high speeds.

US-PAUL WALKER-MEMORIAL RALLY AND CAR CRUISEHowever, according to new documents obtained by The Blast, Meadow just reached a settlement with Porsche on October 16. The terms are confidential, but now both parties are requesting that the wrongful death case be dismissed. The Blast’s documents also stated that Paul Walker’s father settled a separate lawsuit against Porsche.

According to Gossip Cop, the driver of the vehicle’s widow, Kristine Rodas, lost her wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche in April 2016. Her lawsuit alleged that the accident was caused by defects in the car, but the judge decided there was “no competent evidence” to hold Porsche liable for the crash. After the case was dismissed, Meadow’s attorney told Gossip Cop the decision had “no effect on Meadow Walker’s lawsuit” and that “the issues in the cases are very different” because Paul Walker wasn’t driving the vehicle.

Meadow Walker’s Instagram only has a few photos up, but most are loving photos of her father, and advocacy for his favorite causes through The Paul Walker Foundation:

  • ‘The Fast and the Furious’: 10 Things You (Probably) Didn’t Know About the Vin Diesel Hit

When it came out 15 years ago, on June 22, 2001, “The Fast and the Furious” seemed like just a 1950s exploitation movie with a bigger budget. Little did anyone imagine that the drag-race drama would turn into an enormous franchise that has earned $3.9 billion to date and spawned six sequels, with at least three more on the way.

As popular as the first “Fast” was — it earned $145 million in North America and a total of $207 million worldwide — there’s plenty you may not know about how the film came to be. Here are a few tidbits of behind-the-scenes trivia, doled out a quarter-mile at a time.
    1. In 1998, reporter Ken Li began writing a series of articles about 30-year-old Dominican street racer Rafael Estevez, first in the New York Daily News, then in Vibe magazine. Director Rob Cohen claimed he was inspired to make the film by reading one of those articles, entitled “Racer X” (for which Universal bought the film rights and adapted into the “Fast” screenplay), as well as by attending an actual illegal street race.

    2. The title was licensed from B-movie legend Roger Corman. His 1955 film, “The Fast and the Furious,” was about a wrongly-convicted man who escapes from prison and takes up with a gang of illegal street racers. Of course, Corman produced his movie for just $66,000, while Cohen’s cost $38 million.

    3. While making “The Skulls” for Cohen and producer Neal H. Moritz, Paul Walker mentioned that he’d love to play an undercover cop one day. He didn’t know at the time that Cohen and Moritz were developing just such a project.

    4. In his college days, Vin Diesel recalled, he had a Suzuki GSX-R sport bike that he would tear along on the highways of Queens, N.Y. But by the time he first played Dominic Toretto in “Fast” at age 33, he admitted, “I’m an SUV kind of guy.”
    5. Michelle Rodriguez’s role of Letty (above) wasn’t part of the original script, but the filmmakers created it for her after seeing her breakthrough performance in the indie boxing drama “Girlfight.”

    6. Neither Jersey girl Rodriguez nor Manhattan-raised Jordana Brewster (Mia) had much driving experience before they made the film; in fact, Brewster (then 20) didn’t have a driver’s license or even know how to drive. Both actresses had to learn some stunt-driving moves, including slides and sideways turns, for the movie. By the end of the shoot, newly-minted car enthusiast Rodriguez was complaining of the filmmakers, “They wouldn’t let us drive faster than 80 miles per hour!”
    7. Seen in the movie are some 150 actual street racers, along with their custom cars. They were easy to recruit, recalled transportation coordinator David Marder. “Every one of these kids have monitors hooked up in their cars, where they play video games and use the Internet,” he said. “We just put out the word, and they appeared!”

    8. The unique circular Beverly Hills house that the police use as their sting headquarters is said in the film to be the home Eddie Fisher built for Elizabeth Taylor. Sadly, that’s not true; it wasn’t built until 1963, when Taylor had left Fisher for Richard Burton. Less juicy trivia: it’s the same house where Walter Matthau‘s screenwriter character lived in the 2000 Nora Ephron movie “Hanging Up.”
    9. Moritz and Cohen both have cameos in the film. That’s Moritz as the driver of the black Ferrari who races Brian (Walker). And that’s Cohen (above) as the pizza delivery man blocked by the first race.

    10. Today, Rafael Estevez, the inspiration for the whole franchise, runs a garage in Queens. Journalist Li says Estevez eventually got compensation from Universal for his role as the franchise’s catalyst.

  • People’s Choice Awards 2016 Winners: Watch Vin Diesel Sing for Paul Walker

Why does it never fail to water our eyes when Vin Diesel honors Paul Walker? He did it again last night at the People’s Choice Awards, when giving a lengthy acceptance speech for “Furious 7,” which won two awards. Vin name dropped the late actor, whom he has called his brother, and at the end of the speech he sang a verse from the film’s end song, “See You Again.”

    Here’s his full speech:

The PCAs are sort of the start of awards season, but things don’t really kick off until this Sunday’s Golden Globes. There was a stage-crasher promoting a new album (that’s him below), and Dakota Johnson talked about her boobs, but otherwise the 2016 PCAs just stuck with the tradition of honoring celebs who already knew they would win, which is not as much fun as drunk celebs being shocked into saying something crazy.

  • Paul Walker Shares Blame for His Death, Porsche Says in Lawsuit Filing

US-ENTERTAINMENT-PAUL WALKERPorshe is hitting back at the wrongful death lawsuit filed by Meadow Walker, the teenage daughter of the late Paul Walker, who is suing the automaker for negligence in its design of the vehicle in which her father was killed. According to the automaker, Paul Walker was intimately familiar with the car and knew the risks it posed — and therefore could be considered partially responsible for his own death.

TMZ shared Porshe’s court filing — the company’s official answer to Meadow Walker’s suit — on Monday, which stated that Paul Walker was “a knowledgeable and sophisticated user of the 2005 Carrera GT.” As such, the site said, Porsche maintains that Walker “should not have allowed or participated in a high-speed ride under the conditions that existed.”

“Porsche also takes issue with allegations that the car’s design was defective,” TMZ wrote of the filing. “The car company says ‘the subject 2005 Carrera GT was abused and altered …’ The company added the car was ‘misused and improperly maintained.’”

Those comments echo similar statements that the automaker made when Meadow Walker’s lawsuit was first filed back in September. Porsche cited authorities’ ruling that the car — driven by Paul Walker’s friend, Roger Rodas, who was also killed in the crash — was traveling at 90 mph, and that the crash “resulted from reckless driving and excessive speed.” Rodas’s widow has also filed a similar suit against Porsche, which is still pending.

According to Porsche’s filing this week, Walker could also share “comparative fault” with Rodas, meaning he was also responsible for his death. A representative for Meadow Walker released a statement to TMZ disputing that claim. It said:

It is beyond regrettable that Porsche is trying to deflect its own responsibility by blaming the victim — Paul Walker — for his own death by getting into the passenger seat of its Carrera GT. Contrary to Porsche’s assertions, the facts are clear: Paul was the passenger in a car that was not designed to protect its occupants, in a crash on a dry, empty straightaway in broad daylight and at speeds well below the vehicle’s advertised capabilities.

If Porsche had designed the car to include proper safety features, Paul would have survived, he would be filming ‘Fast and Furious 8’ and Meadow Walker would have the father she adored.

  • Porsche Responds to Lawsuit Filed by Paul Walker’s Daughter, Blames Driver

Fast & Furious 6 - World Premiere - Red Carpet ArrivalsIn response to a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Paul Walker‘s daughter, Meadow, automaker Porsche has said that Walker’s death was the result of reckless driving, not a defect in the vehicle.

“As we have said before, we are very sad whenever anyone is hurt in a Porsche vehicle, but we believe the authorities’ reports in this case clearly establish that this tragic crash resulted from reckless driving and excessive speed,” Porsche’s statement said.

Meadow Walker filed a lawsuit against the automaker on Monday, claiming that design defects and a lack of safety measures directly contributed to her father’s death on November 30, 2013. Walker was the passenger in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT driven by his friend, Roger Rodas, when Rodas lost control of vehicle and slammed into a tree, causing the car to burst into flames; both men were killed in the accident.

Law enforcement officials had said that the car was traveling at 90 mph when it crashed, though Meadow Walker’s lawsuit disputes that number. Her lawyer, Jeff Milam, said in a statement about the suit, “She’s a teenage girl still dealing with the tragic loss of her father.”

Rodas’s widow filed a similar suit against Porsche in 2014, which is still pending. Earlier this year, Porsche responded in much the same way, siding with authorities who deemed that reckless driving caused the crash.

“Roger Rodas’s death, and all other injuries or damages claimed, were the result of Roger Rodas’s own comparative fault,” Porsche said at the time.
