The “Droughtlander” is coming to an end.

Starz announced that Season 5 of “Outlander” will premiere Sunday, February 16. That will make it over a year since the Season 4 finale aired this past January.

The time-traveling romantic drama will also hold a panel presentation at this year’s New York Comic-Con on Saturday, October 5. Stars Caitriona Balfe (Claire) and Sam Heughan (Jamie) are confirmed to attend, along with Duncan LaCroix (Murtagh), Maria Doyle Kennedy (Jocasta), and David Berry (Lord John Grey). Also on hand will be Diana Gabaldon, author of the bestselling “Outlander” book series.

Season 5 picks up where the story left off, with a shocking cliffhanger not found in the books. Jamie has been tasked by North Carolina’s governor to form a militia to hunt down Murtagh — Jamie’s best friend and wanted criminal.

Jamie must find a way to defend his family, followers, and the home they have created at Fraser’s Ridge. Meanwhile, Claire must use her modern medical knowledge and foresight to prevent them from being ripped apart once again.

Time for a fresh new start.

The first teaser trailer for Starz’s “Outlander” Season 4 is here to give fans a bit of relief during this “Droughtlander” until new episodes start airing this November.

Star Sam Heughan debuted the video during a screening for his new movie “The Spy Who Dumped Me” and it’s chock-full of glimpses at the brave new world that Jamie and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) will inhabit.

When Season 3 ended, the couple had washed ashore in America during their return voyage to Scotland.

As readers of the books know [SPOILERS AHEAD], they head to North Carolina to meet Jamie’s Aunt Jocasta (Maria Doyle Kennedy) at her famed home River Run. There, they’ll run across Native Americans, the rogue Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speelers), and a human skull with … dental fillings that won’t be invented for another 100 years. Looks like there was another time traveler around these parts!

The 13-episode Season 4 will debut in November on Starz.

  • ‘Outlander’ Season 4 Adds Five More Stars, Including ‘Lord of the Rings’ Alum

“Outlander” Season 3 ended with Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) washed up on the Georgia shore. Welcome to the New World!

Season 4, which premieres this November, will adapt Diana Gabaldon’s fourth novel in the series, “Drums of Autumn.”

Not to get too spoilery for non-book-followers, but they do eventually get to North Carolina; that’s connected to some of the new characters fans will meet in Season 4.

The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies Premiere - LondonEntertainment Weekly gave a breakdown of five new characters — and also shared their headshots:

    • “The Lord of the Rings” star Billy Boyd (Pippin) will play Gerald Forbes, a wealthy lawyer in Cross Creek, NC, a close settlement to the River Run plantation, run by Jamie’s Aunt Jocasta Cameron (Maria Doyle Kennedy). According to EW, Forbes is friends with his “prominent client,” Jocasta.

Simona Brown will play Gayle, best friend and college roommate to Jamie and Claire’s daughter Brianna Fraser (Sophie Skelton).

Caitlin O’Ryan plays the Scottish Lizzie Wemyss, who goes on an adventure with Brianna.

Natalie Simpson will play Phaedre, Jocasta’s personal maid and seamstress.

Tim Downie plays Governor Tryon, whom — in the book — Jamie and Claire meet and dine with in Wilmington, NC.

It was previously announced that Maria Doyle Kennedy would play Jamie’s Aunt Jocasta, with Colin McFarlane as Jocasta’s slave butler Ulysses, and Ed Speleers as Irish pirate/smuggler Stephen Bonnet.

“Outlander” Season 4 arrives in November. Starz has already renewed the series for Seasons 5 and 6.

Meanwhile, if you’re curious about what else Billy Boyd has been up to since LOTR — he just met Chewie. And it was awesome.

They began tweeting about the double renewal and made it clear that they will follow Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) all they can.

Season 4 hasn’t premiered yet, so fans are lucky to already have Seasons 5 and 6 to look forward to. Their excitement was shared by the show’s cast; a few of the show’s stars quickly responded to Wednesday’s news, including Balfe, Lauren Lyle (Marsali MacKimmie Fraser), and John Bell (Ian Fraser Murray).

  • Starz Orders ‘Outlander’ Seasons 5 and 6, Releases Season 4 Premiere Date and Photos

“Outlander” will continue its time-traveling, globe-trotting adventures for two more seasons.

Starz has renewed the epic romantic drama for Seasons 5 and 6. The network also scheduled the premiere of Season 4 for November.

Seasons 5 and 6 will be based on the fifth and sixth books in Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling series, “The Fiery Cross” and “A Breath of Snow and Ashes.” They will run for 12 episodes each, the lowest total yet (season 1 consisted of 16 episodes and Seasons 2 and 3 ran for 13 each).

“Outlander” left off on a major turning point for Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan). They’d washed ashore in America after their ship was torn apart during a storm.

Starz released several pictures from the new season, which hint at the new life Claire and Jamie build in America, as well as the growing relationship between their daughter Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and Roger Wakefield (Richard Rankin).

  • ‘Outlander’ Creator Has ‘No Doubt’ Season 5 Will Happen on Starz

The future is bright for “Outlander.”

Fans worried that Starz has yet to order a fifth season of the time-traveling romance fantasy epic can breathe easy. The show’s creator, Ronald D. Moore, told the audience at a “For Your Consideration” panel that the “usual negotiations and conversations” are taking place with the network and should be resolved in a satisfactory manner.

“We are certainly going to do it. I have no doubt we are doing a season 5,” he said.

The third season concluded last December and filming is currently underway on Season 4, which is expected to premiere in the fall.

Moore, who ceded day-to-day showrunning duties last season to Matt B. Roberts and Toni Graphia, said the writers have already begun to think about Season 5.

“Every year we approach it fresh,” Moore told Entertainment Weekly. “Should we keep it a book a season? We’ve done that up until now. But we’ve talked about splitting books, and we’ve talked about combining them. We want to be free in the writers’ room to pick and choose and do what feels most comfortable that year.”

  • An ‘Outlander’ Season 4 Sneak Peek Is Coming Soon

We have to wait till fall for “Outlander” Season 4 to premiere, but at least a new sneak peek is almost here.

Starz has the clip scheduled to debut this Sunday at 10 p.m. ET, EW reports. Before it airs, we’ll get to watch a Season 3 recap, and then see what we have to look forward to when the show returns. The recap and sneak peek will be broadcast on the premium network, so a subscription is required to catch them.

Season 4 will continue the show’s pattern of having each season cover a book in Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series. In this case, that means we’ll see “Drums of Autumn” come to screen. The book follows “Voyager” and centers on Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) settling into life in the American colonies. Starz previously shared a brief clip, showing the two characters discussing the move.

    Bring on fall.
