  • Will Smith Does Funny Parody of Son Jaden’s ‘Icon’ Music Video to Celebrate Major Milestone

When you’re Will Smith, a pat on the back or a cake isn’t enough to celebrate your kids’ accomplishments.

The proud dad recently saw his son, Jaden, reach 100 million streams on Spotify, so he went all out to mark the milestone. The rapper-turned-actor recreated part of Jaden’s “Icon” music video, parodying it as he went. The result is pretty great, not just because it is amusing but also because it shows how happy Smith is for his son.

Smith, his grill, his shorts, and his slippers really say 100 million. Watch below.

We assume Jaden liked the video, too, because he tweeted out “I Love You” a few hours later, as Variety pointed out.

For those who haven’t seen the original “Icon” music video, watch below:

Jaden’s video may have had a higher budget, but we like his dad’s version, too.

  • Ed Sheeran’s ‘Game of Thrones’ Appearance to Include Special Treat

NETHERLANDS-BRITAIN-ENTERTAINMENT-MUSIC-CONCERT-SHEERANThe “Game of Thrones” showrunners know how to do a surprise right.

They didn’t just convince Ed Sheeran to do a guest appearance on the series as a surprise for co-star Maisie Williams (Arya); they also got him to (spoiler alert) sing for her as part of his cameo. Yes, you probably saw that coming given he’s a Grammy-winning musician, but the information is new nonetheless. He let it slip during an interview with The Hits Radio.

“I do a scene with Maisie,” he said, according to The Daily Mail. “I sing a song and then she goes, ‘Oh, that’s a nice song.’”

Since his cameo is apparently only around five minutes long, we probably now know the gist of the entire scene. It’s like nobody remembered to warn him about spoilers. Just last month, he revealed that his character won’t be killed off.

We’ll see Sheeran pop up in “Game of Thrones” Season 7 sometime after its July 16 premiere.

  • Get Ready for a Week of Harry Styles on ‘The Late Late Show’

102.7 KIIS FM's Jingle Ball - ShowMay flowers aren’t the only reason to look forward to the coming month. This year, we’re getting a special treat: a week of “The Late Late Show.”

The former One Direction star is taking on a week-long residency, which is a first for the late-night talk show. CBS revealed the news Tuesday by unveiling a video that shows off host James Corden‘s funny dynamic with his fellow Brit. In a Skype call with Corden, Styles asks for a place to stay for a week while he’s in Los Angeles — namely, the show’s set — and agrees to “pitch in” while he’s there.

Each night during his stint on the show, which runs from May 15 to 18, the musician will perform a new song from his debut solo album, “Harry Styles,” due out May 12. We’re sure he’ll also find time to banter with Corden, with whom he seems to get along great, as you can see in the video below.

“The Late Late Show” Twitter account also shared the news as well as proof of what a good time the two Brits have together. Aww. Who’s excited?

The Late Late Show airs weeknights at 12:37 p.m. ET/PT.

  • Watch Demi Lovato Channel Adele to Beat James Corden in a Riff-Off

The Late Late Show with James Corden“The Late Late Show” recently: a riff-off.

The pop star burst out onstage on Wednesday when Corden started waxing poetic about how today’s divas don’t compare to those of the past. Lovato took issue with his argument and wanted to prove otherwise. Naturally, she had the a cappella group Level in tow (as one does), so she challenged him to a riff-off.

Once we got past the trash talk portion of the battle, they got down to singing. Lovato used tunes from Adele, Katy Perry, and herself to make her point, and Corden countered with work from Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin. Unfortunately for the late-night host, he doesn’t have the range necessary to pull off the songs of divas then, so he was forced to bow to Lovato. They did end on a positive — and cute — note, though.

“The Late Late Show with James Corden” airs weeknights at 12:37 p.m. ET/PT.

  • New ‘All Eyez on Me’ Trailer Teases Tupac Shakur’s Untold Story

The mystery and conspiracy theories surrounding Tupac Shakur’s death haven’t gone away, but the upcoming biopic “All Eyez on Me” aims to tell the legendary rapper’s untold story.

The first full trailer was released Thursday, and it takes us from his early days in New York all the way to his tragic end. The preview reminds us that Shakur (played by Demetrius Shipp Jr.) wasn’t just chasing fame; he wanted to use his platform to share his message and he wasn’t afraid to do it in unconventional ways.

“You got to enter in somebody’s world in order to lead them out,” he says at one point.

That’s not to say there isn’t a dark side, too. The trailer shows Jada Pinkett (Katerina Graham) coming to him with concerns about his actions, not to mention him serving time in prison. In spite of that, there’s no denying that Shakur remains a fascinating figure.Shipp and Graham star alongside Lauren Cohan, Hill Harper, Jamal Woolard, Danai Gurira, Jamie Hector, and more.

“All Eyez on Me” is due out in theaters June 16.

  • ABC Plans to Build a Boy Band on New Singing Competition Series

2013 MTV Video Music Awards - ShowIs it 2001 again?

It sure feels like it. ABC has ordered “Boy Bands,” a new reality series that will feature aspiring stars competing for five openings in a music group, Variety reports. The singers will all sing for a spot — not to mention the Hollywood Records contract it comes with — over the course of the show’s 10-episode season.

Viewers will weigh in by voting, and a group of celebrity judges will be the so-called “architects” of the band. The judges will not only evaluate the contestants, they’ll serve as mentors. So far, ABC hasn’t found its host or judges, but Variety’s sources say the network is looking to bring in members of notable boy bands and girl bands.

The judging panel is intended to be made up of a mix of old favorites and more recent hit-makers. We can definitely picture a panel with boy banders past — namely, former *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys stars. This seems like a great opportunity for ABC to tap into millennial nostalgia, while also throwing in some more current stars.

Look for “Boy Banders” on ABC this summer. Until we know more, bye bye bye.

  • Lady Gaga Follows Up Super Bowl Performance With World Tour Announcement

AMFOOT-NFL-SUPERBOWL-HALFTIMELady Gaga’s high-flying, drone-packed Super Bowl halftime show was just one treat for fans on Sunday.

Shortly after her performance, the singer revealed that she is soon to embark on her latest world tour. Called “Joanne” like her most recent album, which was released in October, the tour will kick off Aug. 1 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her website currently shows the tour running through Dec. 14.

Lady Gaga has some busy months ahead of her. The tour includes almost 50 stops, with concerts in North America, South America, and Europe. She’ll be visiting more than a dozen countries when all is said and done.

The announcement isn’t exactly a surprise; Super Bowl performers often reveal their next tour in the wake of their halftime show. Still, it’s big news for Gaga lovers. Little Monsters are probably feeling about as happy as Patriots fans are right now.

  • Prepare for a Show: Grammy Performers Include John Legend, Carrie Underwood, and More

Photo Call For WGN America's 'Underground' And 'Outsiders'As always, the upcoming Grammy Awards will feature an all-star list of performers.

The Recording Academy gave us a preview of what to expect when the show airs Feb. 12 by announcing some of its big-name acts on Wednesday. The night is shaping up to have something for everyone. So far, we can look forward to John Legend, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Metallica taking the stage.

“Music’s Biggest Night” is usually big on collaborations, and this year, we’re getting one from country singers Underwood and Urban. They’ll present a united front for at least a song on a night when they’re squaring off for the Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance. Urban is also nominated in the Best Country Album category.

Neither Metallica nor Legend is nominated this year, but the Recording Academy has honored them plenty of times in the past. Metallica is an eight-time winner, and Legend has taken home a whopping 10 statues over the years.

We’re in for a good show when the 59th annual Grammy Awards airs on Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. ET.

  • James Corden Locked Down the Queen of Pop for Carpool Karaoke

BRITAIN-ENTERTAINMENT-MUSIC-CINEMA-BEATLESIt was only a matter of time.

“The Late Late Show.” The legendary musician and the late-night TV host got together Wednesday to film the segment, according to Variety.

Madonna posted a picture of the duo on Instagram, writing that she was “riding around Manhattan with this Hunk of Burning Love.” She also made specific mention of “Carpool Karaoke,” so don’t worry, they weren’t just joyriding. “Late Late Show” executive producer Ben Winston tweeted out the same picture, along with the caption “New York shoot day. New carpool soon.”

Unfortunately, neither Madonna nor Winston revealed when we can expect to see the pop icon’s segment. Nonetheless, it’s bound to be good. Madonna is more than qualified to carry on the “Carpool Karaoke” tradition, which has featured superstars like Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder, Adele, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and even First Lady Michelle Obama.

“The Late Late Show” airs weeknights on CBS at 12:35 a.m.

  • Watch Lady Gaga Hijack ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’

Saturday Night Live - Season 42“Late Late Show” episode.

When it came time for Corden to come out an deliver his opening monologue, Lady Gaga took the stage instead. Stealing the host’s thunder and calling herself “Lady Haha,” she started in on the usual topical jokes. Yet, she only got through a few before a pants-less Corden ran onstage to reclaim his show.

The two staged a faux argument over her supposed hijacking, but they quickly reached a compromise that viewers’ loved: Gaga got to stay as part of the band. Naturally, she didn’t have to hide away — she performed one of the singles from her new album, “Joanne,” and interacted with guests.
Another highlight of the show was Lady Gaga’s “Carpool Karaoke” segment. Between that and her unexpected appearance, the audience got a healthy dose of Gaga.
“The Late Late Show with James Corden” airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. ET on CBS.
