  • How Mandy Moore, Claire Holt Adapted to Acting Underwater in 47 Meters Down

Even for a pair of novice divers like Claire Holt and Mandy Moore, shooting a movie almost entirely underwater had its benefits.

For instance, getting ready for a scene in “47 Meters Down” meant minimal time in the makeup chair. “We popped a bit of conditioner in our hair and got in,” Holt tells Made in Hollywood reporter Patrick Stinson.

And once they were in the water, adds Moore, the breaks between takes would be “quiet and peaceful.”

“We would just sort of float,” she says. “It was like being in space. It was crazy.”

“47 Meters Down” follows the harrowing ordeal of sisters Kate (Holt) and Lisa (Moore) who go diving in shark-infested waters while on vacation, thinking they would be safe in their protective cage, only to have their cage break away from the boat.

“A film like this is unique in the sense that I don’t think there’s been another film out there that takes place primarily underwater like this does,” says Moore. “Ninety percent of this movie is us underwater trapped in a cage trying to figure out how to escape and make our way back up to the surface without being attacked by a shark, running out of oxygen and drowning.”

The actresses prepared for the movie by taking a crash course in scuba diving. By the end, they were surprised how comfortable they were in the water.

“Any time someone would say something that annoyed me on dry land,” jokes Holt, “I would just float under so I wouldn’t have to listen to them.”

Still, despite the advantages, the shoot left them exhausted.

“We have not been diving since,” admits Moore. “I think it is going to take me another couple of years before I want to get back in the water.”

    “Maybe never again,” adds Hold.

    Says Moore: “We were waterlogged.”

  • Watch the Adorable ‘This Is Us’ Cast Hit the Streets With Billy Eichner

NBCUniversal Press Tour - 2017The stars of “This Is Us” took a family stroll on the streets of New York City with Billy Eichner for the latest installment of his “Billy on the Streets.” And of course, everybody gushed over them.

The freshman NBC drama was the season’s biggest new hit and a pop culture sensation. “I love it!” one fan exclaimed of the show to Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz, and Justin Hartley.

“Can’t wait!” she added when told the show is returning in September.

One guy even worked up the nerve to hit on Moore. “Are you single?” he asked.

“I’m not single,” Moore said, blushing and laughing (the actress has been dating musician Taylor Goldsmith since last year.) The guy shrugged. “Might as well ask.”

Not everybody had watched the show, though. “Next binge watch,” one passerby promised.

Plus, Eicher pitches some other TV shows he’d like to see on television (yeah, we’d tune in to watch Michelle Branch as a detective).

  • Watch ‘This Is Us’ Fans Make Show’s Stars Cry With Moving Stories About Series’ Impact

Entertainment Weekly's PopFestThe stars of “This Is Us” make viewers cry on a weekly basis, so it’s only fair that fans got the chance to return the favor.

In a video released Monday by NBC, “This Is Us” fans reveal the profound and beautiful ways the show has impacted them. As they discuss experiences they’ve had that are similar to ones we’ve seen on the NBC drama, stars Sterling K. Brown, Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, and Chrissy Metz watch and react. Not surprisingly, there are a lot of tears, both from the fans and the stars. And let’s admit it — from us, too. You’re going to need tissues for this one.

To top it all off, the video concludes with the show’s stars surprising their fans, inspiring even more emotions. There are just so many heartwarming things going on here. If you’re ready to feel, watch below.

“This Is Us” Season 2 premieres this fall.

  • The ‘This Is Us’ Cast Has Been Texting About Milo Ventimiglia’s Lack of Facial Hair

48th NAACP Image Awards - ArrivalsThe “This Is Us” cast has important things to talk about … like Milo Ventimiglia‘s facial hair.

After showing off a ’70s-style mustache as Jack Pearson on the hit NBC series, Ventimiglia decided to go clean-shaven again. His decision surprised fans and co-stars alike. In fact, Mandy Moore, who plays his onscreen wife, told PeopleStyle that they’ve all been texting about it.

“We have like a gigantic cast text chain, and we’re like, Who is that young man?!” Moore said. “My first reaction was, like, I don’t know that person! That is not my husband, that is not the person I fell in love with!”

Even though some of his co-workers may barely have recognized him, the look isn’t so unfamiliar. Ventimiglia spent years playing Jess on “Gilmore Girls” with a mustache-free face. His new (old) look might take some getting used, but we bet that everyone will soon be too distracted by Jack’s dramatic story again to care about his dearly departed mustache.

“This Is Us” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.

  • Mandy Moore Teases Possible ‘A Walk to Remember’ Reunion

2017 Annual Artios Awards - ArrivalsNow that “A Walk to Remember” is celebrating its 15th anniversary, fans may be getting a gift.

For those clamoring for a reunion, star Mandy Moore has good news: One is in the works. She dropped the intriguing tidbit during a Twitter Ask Me Anything on Wednesday when a user asked her about the possibility. She didn’t say who would be involved, but her leading man, Shane West, seems like a safe bet.

It’s hard to say what exactly a reunion would entail. A sequel of any kind seems all but impossible given that — spoiler alert! — Moore’s character, Jamie, died at the end of the movie. On top of that, she and West are each busy starring in different TV series. Still, we can’t blame them for wanting to figure out something given that they both loved working on the film.

West recently referred to the experience as “phenomenal” during an Entertainment Weekly interview, and Moore had glowing memories to share as well.

“It was the first time I’d ever had that kind of camp-like experience where you come home and cry when it’s over and you’re determined to keep in touch with everyone,” she told EW. “It just gives me an all-encompassing warm feeling inside.”

We’ll see what they come up with and just hope it doesn’t require tissues to wipe away our tears like the film did.

  • ‘A Walk to Remember’ Stars Mandy Moore, Shane West Revisit Film for 15th Anniversary

It has officially been 15 years since “A Walk to Remember” hit theaters, making it the perfect time for stars Mandy Moore and Shane West to take a walk down memory lane.

The two actors opened up to Entertainment Weekly about making the 2002 hit teen romance, and what they had to say was as sweet as the film itself. Moore revealed that a part of her “fell in love” with her co-star, and they also explained why they made such a great on-screen pair.

“Shane was so cool. Everything about him — the way he dressed, the little cigarettes that he smoked, and the music he listened to,” Moore told EW. “He was the character to me and there was definitely a part of me that absolutely fell in love with him.”

West also saw how different they were and explained how fitting that was considering their characters’ unlikely relationship.

“It was kind of perfect the way we came into the project because she was coming from this pop background at that time — she had her song ‘Candy,’ and a role in the ‘Princess Diaries’ — and for me I was into punk rock and so it was like completely opposites attract, or opposites are forced together to work,” he said.

It’s no wonder they managed to make so many people cry — an impressive feat considering Moore was starring in her first major role and very nervous, as both she and West noted. They’re both seasoned pros now, though. Moore currently stars in NBC’s new hit drama “This Is Us,” and West is a regular in the supernatural series “Salem.”

Does anyone else feel super old now?
