  • Tom Holland Channels Rihanna in All-Out ‘Umbrella’ Lip Sync

Talk about commitment. In case you missed it, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” star Tom Holland went all out in a lip sync performance of Rihanna‘s “Umbrella.” Wearing a skimpy outfit and stockings, the actor channeled all of Rihanna’s sexy moves while Zendaya, his lip sync rival, completely lost it in the background.

Although the network had already teased that he’d be doing Rihanna, the audience didn’t seem to know what they were in for. Holland first came out dressed as Gene Kelly and proceeded to do the famous “Singin’ in the Rain” sequence from the classic musical of the same name. And then there was a slight costume change and the backup dancers came out!

Zendaya also did a cross-dressing performance as Bruno Mars for “24k Magic,” but had to admit that Holland’s performance was “incredible.”

As Holland caught his breath, co-host Chrissy Teigen came down from the ceiling in a Spider-Man suit, saying she’d love to fulfill a fantasy. It seemed like she was about to recreate the famous upside-down kiss with Holland, but then her husband John Legend stepped up for the kiss.

The special “Lip Sync Battle” aired before the MTV Movie Awards.

  • John Cho vs. Ben Kingsley ‘Lip Sync Battle’ Is Too Strange & Sexy to Miss

You get down with your bad self, Gandhi!

“Lip Sync Battle” opens its third season October 12 with Oscar winner Sir Ben Kingsley, 72, vs. “Star Trek” and “Harold & Kumar” hero John Cho, 44. Gandhi vs. Sulu. But really it’s Elton John in full regalia vs. a grinding Rod Stewart. And we all win for watching.

Spike just released a couple of entertaining sneak peek videos to tease the Season 3 premiere, which airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. (Yep, that’s a new day and time.)

Here’s Sir Ben not-quite-singing Elton John’s “Rocketman” at the piano:

And here’s John Cho getting sexy right up in Sir Ben’s face to ask Rod Stewart’s eternal question, “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?”: The answer is yes! Photos for the premiere also show John Cho in cowboy mode…

… but there are no videos to tease that song yet, so you’ll have to watch Wednesday to see what he and his dastardly mustache are up to (or check out the YouTube videos Thursday morning).

Future lip sync-ers for Season 3 include Don Cheadle, Ruby Rose, Jay Leno, Laverne Cox, Lupita Nyong’o, Sarah Hyland, Wanda Sykes, Uzo Aduba, Milla Jovovich, America Ferrera, Regina Hall, Samira Wiley, Craig Ferguson, T.J. Miller, DeAndre Jordan, Jeff Dye, and Rob Riggle.

  • Clark Gregg Talks ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’, ‘Civil War’ Ties, and His Epic ‘Lip-Sync Battle’

Premiere Of Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War" - Arrivals Now that the world’s seen “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” And nobody’s better schooled on the inside secrets of the MCU than Director Phil Coulson himself: Clark Gregg.

As the series heads into its season-ending episodes, Gregg reveals how the “Civil War” plot twists turn up the temperature on an already heated season of conflict within the S.H.I.E.L.D. team, and he provided a glimpse into his own recent personal showdown, when he faced off against “Marvel’s Agent Carter” star Lip Sync Battle.”

Moviefone: What’s the fun for you and the team on the show, knowing that these big Marvel movies are coming each year that will have some kind of element that you can incorporate in your story?

Clark Gregg: From my vantage point, it’s a world I love. I’ve been involved in the earlier phase of the building of the Cinematic Universe, and I’ve gotten to watch the way that Jeph Loeb and everybody else has built the television part of the universe and all its different portions, whether it’s Hell’s Kitchen, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,” or “Agent Carter” in the ’40s.

So to just see this one story be told across all these chapters, and too see the way the little ripples happen — I mean, it was more terrifying when you realized that maybe, after “Winter Soldier,” the organization that Coulson works for doesn’t exist anymore. Nothing’s quite that extreme, but certainly everything that happens in “Civil War” shows up on our show with this episode, and within seconds, there’s my pal General Talbot there to start registering Inhumans, some of whom are my very close friends.

What was intriguing about the timing of everything this season? To be able to incorporate that Superhuman Registration Act into the plotline, right at that moment when things are heating up in your season with dividing lines amongst your characters?

Well, certainly that idea of what it means to be an Inhuman. The alienation of someone who feels like “the other” has been something that’s been going on in our show for quite some time, and something we’ve been exploring. So when “Civil War” takes it to the point where there’s a Registration Act and that’s dividing the Avengers, it just takes everything we’ve been doing and setting up and cranks it up to a new level, right when we’re going into our last three episodes — two of which are our own version of a Marvel movie, a two-hour finale.

What have you loved about this particular season?

I love the way the writers have taken this idea of the Inhumans, and from the capsules that we saw being harvested at the end of last season to a global outbreak where suddenly people are evolving differently — and some of them are within our own team and some of them become members of our team, and others would like to destroy our team.

It creates a problem where there’s no easy answers. Though Coulson probably imagined when he was main director of S.H.I.E.L.D. that his job was really going to be about rebuilding S.H.I.E.L.D. before HYDRA could destroy it, suddenly his job very much becomes about Inhumans and Secret Warriors, and feeling the way those divisions play out on his own team.

How has the proliferation of superpowers on the show sort of changed everything thematically as you put the show together each week?

At the start of the show, it was very clear that Joss and Jed [Whedon], and Maurissa [Tancharoen], and Jeph and Jeff [Bell] were committed to making a show that was different than what you were seeing in the Marvel movies. The most prominent difference was the fact that it was centered around someone that the fans had responded to because he was very normal and didn’t have any powers.

He was the audience’s avatar, in a way. An Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. A very good agent, and even though he didn’t know it, an agent who had been brought back from the dead using Kree powers, which would become very important to people who were learning about Inhumans.

What they did in this season, and with the outbreak of Inhumans, is they started to have powered people that are part of our show, and yet still have them be about S.H.I.E.L.D. I like that it’s become its own very different thing within the Marvel Universe that feels totally and logistically appropriate for television.

It pushes the envelope as fast as Mark Kolpack and as his brilliant VFX team, and the technology can evolve. And I just was watching some of the shots that are from our finale, and as I say every year — and it’s true every year — I just saw stuff I’ve never seen on TV again, because they pushed the envelope further.

Coulson has really had his feet held to the fire toward the end of second season and all through this season. What’s been fun for you about playing him in this sustained distress?

Well, the episode where everything’s good and there are no problems — I don’t know, maybe an episode of that might be interesting. Who knows? We’d probably cook up some giant dilemma just so we wouldn’t be bored. A cop drama in a city where everyone gets along is probably not a good show.

I love that they seem to constantly take him from one frying pan to another, global, interplanetary Inhuman fire. This year they even had him on a foreign planet hunting down his adversary. Come on, that’s fun! I sit there on the foreign planet and I go, “This is the best job anyone ever had.”

I have to ask you about your bravest performance yet: on “Lip Sync Battle.”

Yeah, I temporarily lost my mind for a second there.
You looked like you were having a blast.

It was really fun. I love Hayley Atwell. She is really the one who made that Dubsmash part of our world last year at Comic-Con, and we had a blast fighting it out with them. It was painful to lose the Dubsmash war. So it was thoroughly to kind of even it out a little bit with the wonderful lip sync battle. Although, when I saw her spectacular Lady Gaga performance in the head-to-toe neoprene with the giant crown, I thought it was all over. I guess I didn’t give enough credit to the shock value of my 50-something self in the Britney [Spears] costume.

How did that concept come together, including your wife Jennifer [Grey] and all that?

I don’t know how it happens for everybody else, but for me, it was very, very sudden. Maybe somebody fell out or something, but it was a call on Thursday that this was an option, and an ask and request for some songs that I liked and a list of songs presented to me.

I didn’t know that particular Britney song that well, but I was assured by Constance Zimmer and Shay Sanford-Fong, one of our brilliantly talented hair people that it was something I should explore. Especially when I saw the video and explored the possibility of the androgynous flight attendant.

Just hours later, I was there rehearsing with this spectacular dance team, Danielle Flora, the dance goddess there. And choreographing this crazy number, which all seemed great because I didn’t really imagine myself in quite that costume. They pointed out that in the video, there was a male passenger that Britney had made out with. I said, “I can think of a good passenger,” because my wife is so game. She agreed to be the mysterious passenger in scene 3B.

As much as I love Coulson, it’s maybe my favorite performance of yours, Clark.

Oh bless you, thank you so much.

  • Marvel’s Hayley Atwell vs. Clark Gregg ‘Lip Sync Battle’ Is Hilariously Toxic

Never mind Captain America vs. Iron Man, Marvel’s real “Civil War” is happening Thursday night on Spike in the “Lip Sync Battle” between Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”) and Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter of “Marvel’s Agent Carter”).

The Dubsmash rivals will perform two songs each, per usual, and Spike has already shared some teases — one of Gregg taking on Britney Spears’s “Toxic” (KEEP THE COSTUME) and another of Atwell rocking The Offspring’s “Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)”:

Gregg’s teaser clip already has more than 1.8 million views, so you know fans are excited (or traumatized) to see more.

Based on the teaser photo below, we know Atwell’s second performance is going to be particularly bold, but there are no sneak peeks for that one yet.

“Lip Sync Battle” airs Thursday, April 21 at 10 p.m. on Spike. Who are you rooting for in this Marvel(ous) showdown? Next week’s battle is Joel McHale vs. Jim Rash, but do you think they will they ever get Chris Evans to take on Robert Downey Jr.?

  • Melissa McCarthy Demolishes Lip Sync Battle With Messy ‘Colors of the Wind’

Melissa McCarthy Visits "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon"Melissa McCarthy, we are not worthy!

The actress appeared on “The Tonight Show” last night to face off against Jimmy Fallon in his popular segment “Lip Sync Battle” (which spun off into a TV show on Spike), and she absolutely ruled with her two song selections.

After Fallon performed Melanie’s “Brand New Key,” McCarthy got rough and tumble with DMX’s “Gonna Give It to Ya.” But it was her second tune, “Colors of the Wind” from the “Pocohontas” soundtrack that really turned it up, as “The Boss” star donned a pair of goggles and was showered with leaves, branches, plush woodland animals, and lots and lots of glitter.

Fallon couldn’t stop giggling in glee, and had to declare her the “Lip Sync Battle” champion of the evening.

McCarthy next builds a girl troop cookie empire in “The Boss,” which opens in theaters April 8.

  • Watch ‘The Walking Dead’ Stars Slay in ‘Lip Sync Battle’ Clips

It’s Maggie vs. Sasha this week on “Lip Sync Battle.” “The Walking Dead” Season 6 finale airs this Sunday on AMC, but first stars Lauren Cohan (Maggie) and Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha) are taking their slaying skills to Spike TV for a Thursday night showdown.

Yes, that’s Lauren and Sonequa in the pic above — loving the wig and leotard look!

Sonequa either chose or got stuck with the earworm song, “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae),” getting backup from some decaying walkers. Maybe that’s the secret to surviving the zombie apocalypse — teach the walkers some dance moves!

Lauren chose “Sister Christian” for one of her two battle songs, so check that out:

We can’t wait to see what she’s up to in her second song, since it prompted her to put on that amazing outfit from the top photo.

Find out who won the undead battle Thursday, March 31 at 10 p.m. … or Friday morning via YouTube clips.

Future Season 2 battles include NeNe Leakes vs. Todd Chrisley, Jason Derulo vs. Katharine McPhee, Clark Gregg vs. Hayley Atwell (can’t wait for that one!), Joel McHale vs. Jim Rash, and Gina Rodriguez vs. Wilmer Valderrama.

  • ‘Lip Sync Battle Jr.’ Spinoff Coming to Spike, Nickelodeon

Spike is expanding its “Lip Sync Battle” brand with a new special aimed at the massively popular show’s younger viewers.

The network will partner with sister station Nickelodeon to make “Lip Sync Battle Jr.,” a one-off special set to air on both networks sometime later this year. In a press release, Spike said the spinoff special “will celebrate kids’ love of music and comedy featuring the battles viewers have come to know and love with new variety elements designed to let the little ones shine. The series will be a fresh take on Spike’s star-studded series.”

It’s unclear at this point if “Jr.” will use Nickelodeon stars as its celeb contestants, or if everyday kids will have the chance to participate. But with the success of other reality shows that have gone with a kiddie format — like “MasterChef Junior” or “Project Runway Junior” — it makes sense for Spike to branch out, too.

According to “LSB” executive producers Casey Patterson and Jay Peterson, it was the viral sensation’s “multigenerational appeal” among viewers (an average of 4 million tune in every week, and the series has racked up over 500 million online views) that inspired this new special.

“On the long list of wonderful surprises about ‘Lip Sync Battle’ is our family co-viewing,” Patterson and Peterson said in a statement. ” … [T]he whole ‘Lip Sync Battle’ family is very excited about developing a new music based, comedy variety format to showcase how much our ‘Lip Sync Battle’ kids rock! It’s all the fun of ‘Lip Sync Battle,’ only smaller.”

In addition to the “Lip Sync Battle Jr.” special, Spike’s parent company, Viacom, is also developing what it dubs “special editions of ‘Lip Sync Battle’ events.” Stay tuned for more info.

  • Watch Nina Dobrev ‘Get It On’ With Tim Tebow in Sexy ‘Lip Sync Battle’ Clips

“The Vampire Diaries” alum “Lip Sync Battle” face-off, and it’s promising to be quite a hot, sweaty match. So far, Spike TV has teased fans with two preview videos, one showing Tim channel his inner Rocky Balboa for Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger,” and another showing Nina channel her inner Marvin Gaye for “Let’s Get It On.”

Marvin was never this sexy, though, and Nina even works her charms up and down Tim’s body, perhaps hoping she can distract him before his second battle. Tim really brings his A-game to his Rocky performance, and that video shows a glimpse of Nina in football gear, which gives us a hint to her second battle.

    Here are the two previews:

And here are more teaser photos from Spike:

  • ‘Lip Sync Battle’: Watch Josh Gad and Johnny Galecki Make Out (as Donald Trump)

Look at LL Cool J‘s reaction — it’s huuuuuge!

This Thursday, January 28, “The Big Bang Theory” star “Lip Sync Battle.” Spike just posted a couple of teasers for the showdown, including Josh as Donald Trump, performing The Divinyls’ “I Touch Myself.”

The clip takes a random turn at the end when Kaley’s TBBT co-star Johnny Galecki shows up, also wearing a Trump wig, and makes out with Gad’s Trump. As one fan put it in the YouTube comments, “Oh my gosh I just saw Leonard make out with Olaf…” Yep, while dressed as Trump! Things you don’t see every day.

Kaley laughs, but LL clearly wishes he could unsee it. Megyn Kelly should put that one on repeat.

Here’s a preview of Kaley getting dirty to Ludacris’s “Move Bitch”:

  • Who Run the World? Watch Channing Tatum and Beyonce on ‘Lip Sync Battle’

Lip sync BattleWho run the world? Girls. But who run “Lip Sync Battle”? That, without a doubt, has to be Channing Tatum and Beyoncé.

This week’s “Lip Sync Battle” featured a duel between two Tatums — the actor and his wife, Jenna Dewan Tatum. She started the battle with a fierce, sexy, NSFW simulation of his dance to Ginuwine’s “Pony” in “Magic Mike XXL.”

But Channing upped the ante by dressing up as Beyoncé for an all-out performance to Beyonce’s “Who Run the World” — complete with wind effects. The guy has moves, as we’ve all seen, but he was really nailing it. Then, the house really came down when Queen Bey herself came out to join in the fun.

OK, maybe it’s stacking the deck in your favor to bring out Beyonce, but hey, all’s fair in love and “Lip Sync Battle.”
