  • ‘Supernatural’ Casts Jensen Ackles’ Wife Danneel in Her First TV Role in Years

19th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards - Red CarpetWelcome back, Danneel Harris Ackles!

According to “Supernatural” Season 13, starting in Episode 13, “Devil’s Bargain.” Her character, named Sister Jo, is described as “a well-known faith healer whose good works attract the attention of someone very, very bad: Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino).” Intriguing… Wayward Sisters connection, perhaps?

Danneel is known for her years on “One Tree Hill” and “One Life to Live,” along with the “Harold & Kumar” movies.

She’s also known for her marriage to “Supernatural” star Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester), with whom she starred in the 2007 film “Ten Inch Hero.” They’ve been married since 2010 and have three children together — a daughter born in May 2013 and twins (boy and girl) born in December 2016. That’s probably why Danneel hasn’t been on screen much in the past few years, with only a couple of roles since 2012. (Her most recent roles seem to be a TV movie and a digital short — from “Supernatural” star Misha Collins — both in 2014.)

But now husband and wife are reteaming for lucky “Supernatural” Season 13.

Episode 9, “The Bad Place,” is up next, airing Thursday, December 7 at 8 p.m. on The CW. Danneel’s Episode 13 debut will air in early 2018.

  • ‘Supernatural’ and ‘Scooby-Doo’ Crossover? Yes Please!

SupernaturalRut-row! Dean and Sam Winchester are getting animated for a crossover ep with mystery-solving pooch Scooby-Doo.

“Supernatural” stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki announced the special episode at the CW upfronts in New York City, Deadline reports.

The crossover will air next year as part of the show’s 13th season. We imagine it will include ghosts that turn out to be land-grabbing neighbors, the team splitting up and lots of midnight snacking. Which actually sounds like a regular episode of “Supernatural.” Jinkies!

What else can we expect from next season? The CW’s official synopsis: “In the show’s twelfth season, the Winchesters were reunited with their long-dead mother, and joined forces with the British arm of the Men of Letters. But things turned from bad to worse, with the return of Lucifer and the surprising revelation that the Devil is expecting a child. Now, Sam and Dean find themselves facing a creature of almost unimaginable power… one that could save the world… or destroy it.”

Oh, saving the world. Just another Thursday night for the Winchesters.

  • 13 Times Dean Was Our Favorite Winchester on ‘Supernatural’

Dean Winchester (Supernatural” just wouldn’t be the same. (For one, there’d be a lot less pie talk, and who wants that?)

Here are 13 times Dean was our favorite Winchester brother. (No offense Sammy; we love you, too.)

  • Watch ‘Supernatural’ Star Jensen Ackles Sing ‘Simple Man’ at VanCon

jensen ackles, supernatural, simple man“Supernatural” star Jensen Ackles has never met a classic rock cover he didn’t like, and the actor continued his penchant for performing past hits this weekend while playing a Lynyrd Skynyrd song.

Ackles busted out the tune during a performance at VanCon — a “Supernatural”-themed fan convention held in Vancouver, Canada — on Saturday night, taking lead vocals and strumming an acoustic guitar as he sang “Simple Man.” His raspy vocals fit the song perfectly, and the crowd clearly loved it, screaming as he took the stage and cheering throughout the performance.

As Entertainment Weekly notes, Ackles has performed another Skynyrd classic, “Sweet Home Alabama,” publicly in the past, and a quick YouTube search of “Jensen Ackles singing” turns up plenty of results. (There’s one way to liven up your Monday afternoon.)

Check out video of Ackles’s hard-rocking performance below (which also features “Supernatural” cast members Mark Sheppard on drums and Richard Speight Jr. on bass). Where can we book our tickets for the next con?
