  • Ryan Reynolds Has a Cameo as Deadpool in ‘Logan’ (UPDATE)

    Deadpool and Wolverine, together again?

The Wrap reports that Ryan Reynolds has shot a cameo for the upcoming “Logan” movie.” The scene, which was filmed by “Deadpool 2” director David Leitch, will be featured after the credits, rather than within the main part of the movie.

That should somewhat alleviate fan concerns about putting the two characters in the same movie again. They appeared together in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” a pretty terrible movie that “Deadpool” snarkily tweaked. Still, the characters share a long history in the comics, and Reynolds has previously said he wants to make one more Deadpool/Wolverine movie. But Hugh Jackman announced his intention that “Logan” be his final outing.

“What we’re gonna have to do is convince Hugh,” Reynolds said. “If anything, I’m going to need to do what I can to get my internet friends back on board to help rally another cause down the line.”

It might be a lost cause, and not just because of the first movie’s negative response. The two franchises have very different tones — “Deadpool” is cheeky, where Wolverine movies are dark — and it’s unclear how a team-up movie would fit in the new timeline created in “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”

“Logan” takes place in 2024, when mutant births have declined for an unknown reason. An older Wolverine cares for an ailing Professor X (Patrick Stewart), but had left his superhero days behind him when he’s called on to mentor a young mutant girl. The movie opens in theaters March 3.

UPDATE: Both Ryan Reynolds and “Logan” director James Mangold took to Twitter to refute TheWrap’s report:

  • Ryan Reynolds Wants to Make a Deadpool and Wolverine Movie

Screening of 20th Century Fox's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" - ArrivalsHugh Jackman may have shaved off his signature Wolverine mutton chops for the last time, but that hasn’t stopped fellow superhero star Ryan Reynolds from wanting one more onscreen collaboration between Logan and the Merc with a Mouth.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Reynolds — a newly-minted Golden Globe nominee — said he desperately wants to make one more Deadpool-Wolverine movie, even though Jackman has said that the upcoming third standalone Wolverine film, “Logan,” will be his last appearance as the X-Men hero.

“What we’re gonna have to do is convince Hugh,” Reynolds told EW. “If anything, I’m going to need to do what I can to get my internet friends back on board to help rally another cause down the line.”

Those internet friends were mighty helpful in getting “Deadpool” made, so if anyone is up to the task of changing Jackman’s mind, it’s certainly Reynolds’s faithful — and unrelenting — fans. And while Reynolds admits that part of the appeal of reuniting the characters (who first appeared together in 2009’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) is Wolverine’s inherent awesomeness and their onscreen spark, it’s also because Jackman is, according to Reynolds, “one of the best human beings.”

“Part of the reason I want to do a Deadpool/Wolverine movie is not just because I think the two would light the screen on fire, but [because] I genuinely love the guy,” the actor explained to EW.

Keep your fingers crossed, and keep tweeting at Jackman, superhero fans.

  • Hugh Jackman Reveals Title of New Wolverine Movie

    WolverineHey, “Logan”!

That’s the title of the upcoming “Wolverine 3” movie, which star Hugh Jackman revealed on Twitter this morning. He announced the title along with a photo of a billboard in New York City:

Director James Mangold also tweeted the news, along with a look at a script page from the film:

Mangold also shared the movie’s official poster:

The poster contains some interesting hints. The movie is based on the “Old Man Logan” storyline from the comics, in which the aging hero is reluctantly pulled back into action. Mr. Sinister will be the main villain, and Patrick Stewart is reprising his role as Professor X. The poster depicts a child’s hand holding Wolverine’s — could Logan have started a family? Could it be X-23, the female clone of Wolverine?

“Logan” is set to open in theaters March 3, 2017.

  • ‘Wolverine 3’ Set Photos Show Jackman, Stewart, Possible Major New Character

20th Century Fox Panel - Comic-Con International 2013Is this our first look at Old Man Logan? Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart are reprising their respective roles as Logan/Wolverine and Professor Charles Xavier in “Wolverine 3,” which is now filming for a 2017 release. JustJared posted more than a dozen photos taken June 9 on the New Orleans set. According to the site, the scene showed the actors rushing out of a casino and into a truck, and they were accompanied by an unidentified young actress.

    Here’s a taste:

Check out all of the photos on the site.

There were rumors that “Wolverine 3” might cover the “Old Man Logan” storyline, which is set many years in the future — and these photos do show Professor X looking a little long in the tooth. Fox producer Simon Kinberg recently confirmed that “Wolverine 3” would be rated R and “kind of like a Western in its tone,” in a bold, very different way than we’re used to.

Few other details have been shared about the movie so far, but some fans suspect that girl with the actors in the photo might be playing X-23 (Laura Kinney), who is the female clone of Wolverine, with her own regenerative healing and adamantium claws. It’s possible the girl is someone else, and X-23 (if she’s definitely involved) is played by an older actress.

This final Wolverine film from Hugh Jackman is currently scheduled for release on March 3, 2017.

  • Hugh Jackman Explains Why He Still Studies Acting and Singing

Hugh Jackman Explains Why He Still Studies Acting and Singing

Hugh Jackman is one of Hollywood’s biggest and most talented stars, but he says his education never stops.

“I’m a singer, and I have singing lessons every week,” the “Pan” star tells Made in Hollywood Teen. “My feeling is the moment you think you’ve learned everything, you’re dead.”

Jackman said he was first inspired to become an actor by the movie “Raiders of the Lost Ark.”

“When I saw that movie when I was 12, that completely blew my mind, that a movie could make you feel like that,” he says.

An accomplished performer on stage and screening, Jackman is reluctant to give advice to teens on show business.

“I have asolutely no idea how any success happened to me,” he says. “All I know is that I loved acting. And I think you’ve got to have that because there is a fair bit of rejection. I think as long as you love it, that will help you get through any of the disappointment.”

Hugh Jackman Struggles With a Sword in ‘Pan’ Blooper

The sword is not mightier than the adamantium claw.

It’s a lesson Hugh Jackman learned while filming a scene in “Pan” that saw his sword-wielding pirate Blackbeard struggle to slice through a cloth screen in a new blooper clip from the forthcoming Disney movie he shared Monday on Instagram.

“Was gifted with bloopers from the making of @panmovie,” he captioned the outtake clip. “There’s a treasure chest of these sensationally embarrassing moments! Joe Wright you are genius! #PanMovie #DiscoverYourNeverland”

Known to slice through any object like a knife to warm butter with his Wolverine character’s indestructible set of metal claws, as pirate Blackbeard his rusty weapon falls short.

“Pan,” the live-action, very grim re-imagining of Disney’s 1953 animated film stars youngster Levi Miller in the titular role–fulfilling a prophecy as the boy leader who will bring the downfall of Jackman’s villain Blackbeard. Costarring Garrett Hedlund as Hook and Rooney Mara as Tiger Lilly, the action-adventure, opens Oct. 9.
