  • 5 Things You’ll Realize While Watching ‘Friends’ on Netflix

Friends Netflix1. The beginning is slow
With the characters less developed than I remember them being, and the jokes a bit predictable at times, the beginning of “Friends” left me underwhelmed. Scenes were sometimes very short, filled with only a few quick, mediocre jokes. The plots of the episodes moved slowly, and some scenes seemed unnecessary. After the first handful of episodes, though, it starts to pick up speed and become the classic sitcom we all know and love today.

    2. Some of the girls’ outfits are on point (Rachel, I’m looking at you)
Fashion tends to repeat itself, and nowhere is that more obvious than while watching “Friends.” Monica, Rachel, and Phoebe sported some serious looks back then that I would happily wear today. I’m talking combat boots, overalls, sweaters tied around your waist, and flannel. It’s a ’90s girl’s dream.

    3. Ross is so annoying
Starting with his complete inability to confess his feelings for Rachel in Season 1, Ross is that character you love to hate. Well, maybe not hate. There are moments when he seems like a simple, adorable, dinosaur-loving nerd. But then he complains about being divorced, or messes up yet another one of his relationships, or exclaims his usual “We were on a break!” and his adorableness fades away pretty fast.

    4. You should totally be hanging out in coffee shops more often
Everything cool seems to happen at Central Perk. Phoebe was always playing her quirky songs while the gang sipped their coffees and joked about dating and work and life. When you watch the show, you may start to get the urge to hang out in a small, trendy coffee shop. You may even start saying things like, “That is such a Monica thing to say.” Don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong with it. After all, who doesn’t want to be a character in “Friends”?

    5. The theme song is super catchy
As soon as you hear the first few notes of the song play at the beginning of each episode, you really can’t help but sing (and clap) along. And once you’ve heard it, that song will be stuck in your head all day. You end up not just singing it, but totally, unapologetically belting it out. When you watch “Friends,” that song becomes your jam.

  • Best of Late Night TV: Taylor Swift’s Jumbotron Dancing, Britt From ‘The Bachelor’ Defends Herself (VIDEO)

If you’re like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. Here’s the best of what happened last night on late night.

Taylor Swift was on “The Tonight Show” Tuesday night, and Jimmy Fallon told her he was really upset because she dances all the time now, but that used to be their exclusive thing. They were “famous Jumbotron dancers.” Jimmy shared “random” Jumbotron footage showing the two of them going for it. Love how they flip the popcorn every time. Funny bit. The people in the background are the best. Taylor and Jimmy also cemented their new BFF status by drawing each other without looking.
Kristen Bell was on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to talk about Dax Shepard’s 40th birthday and their two young daughters, Lincoln and Delta. They almost forgot Dax’s 40th b-day because they were in that new baby haze. Kristen said Dax named their second baby Delta, without knowing there was a woman named Delta Burke. He thought he made up the name for a girl. Kristen also talked about how she was such a stubborn kid as a child and insisted everyone call her Smurfette. Then Matthew. Then Annie. They settled on Annie and some people still call her that. Jimmy Kimmel also video-chatted with Britt from “The Bachelor.” Jimmy said his wife and her friends all want Britt as The Bachelorette, and she seemed very happy about the idea. Did Britt have any idea that Carly did not like her? She only found out about the puppet thing when she watched the show back. Britt said she wasn’t lying about her Iowa reaction. She does shower. And she’s still working as a waitress, except now people don’t tip her so much because she’s “famous” and they assume she was well-paid to be on “The Bachelor.” Dakota Johnson was on David Letterman’s show and she told Dave that her mom, Melanie Griffith, told her to tell Dave that she (Melanie) loves Dave. Melanie was on the show a lot and she brought Dave handcuffs one time. Dakota: “So, are you my dad?” They discussed the origin of her name. She thinks her parents stole the name from friends’ parents who were also about to have a baby. She was supposed to be named Ruby but Don Johnson thought Ruby Johnson sounded like a stripper’s name. Jack McBrayer and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog were on “Conan” to promote their new show, and Conan O’Brien called out the puppeteer as the worst “f–king puppeteer” ever.” Triumph shared his censored NBC jokes and there are also web-only Andy Richter jokes. “The Walking Dead” star Lauren Cohan was also on “Conan,” talking about her first Hollywood job as a waitress. She was in over her head, and had one customer who was a real jerk. When he left the table to use the bathroom, his own friends told her to pretend to have a nervous breakdown when he came back. She went for it with a full meltdown – and someone from CBS casting was actually in the restaurant and told her to call. Lauren also said she wants a zombie apocalypse Fitbit to count all her steps on TWD. Conan thinks the zombies should wear them, since all they do is walk. Lauren thinks zombies should advertise the Fitbits. Brilliant! Taraji P. Henson was on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and Seth decided to audition for “Empire” on the spot. He wants to be in Cookie’s posse. He said her father inspired her character. Matthew Perry was also on Seth’s show and he talked about how he almost turned down “Friends” in 1994 because he was committed to another show called “LAX 2194” about futuristic LAX baggage handlers. Haha.

  • 19 Times Phoebe Buffay Was Our Favorite ‘Friend’

    %Slideshow-261917%
There’s no denying that “Friends” has been a huge part of pop culture since it first aired back in 1994, but it seems like everyone we know has been talking about the classic sitcom recently since the complete series is streaming on Netflix this very moment. Due to our own excessive binging, we’ve got “Friends” on the brain, too. And while we try to love all of the six main characters equally, we’ve recently been on a total Phoebe kick upon revisitation of the series. We just can’t shake our love for Lisa Kudrow’s kooky blonde. Agree? Sit back and enjoy some Phoebe Buffay moments that prove she’s the best friend anyone could ask for.

  • Best of Late Night TV: Chris Hemsworth’s Sexy Water War, Jessica Chastain’s Funny Wrigley’s Ad (VIDEO)

If you’re like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. Here’s the best of what happened last night on late night.

Chris Hemsworth, the reigning Sexiest Man Alive, earned his title Tuesday night on “The Tonight Show.” He played “Water War” with Jimmy Fallon, and since the loser had to be water cannoned by the winner, you had to know Thor would lose so we could see him drenched. He even did a little dance as Jimmy hosed him down. Let’s just say the audience approved. It’s kind of a fun game, too – a twist on the card game War – and they had a laugh about it. Could make a good drinking game, beyond water. Chris also showed off his new shorter haircut in his sit-down interview with Jimmy. (He looks so much like Liam now, no?) Chris talked to Jimmy about the perks of being Sexiest Man Alive. It’s actually done him more harm than good, with his friends and family giving him grief. The conversation turned to Chris letting his daughter and nieces paint his nails, as shown in a paparazzi photo. Jessica Chastain, endearingly bubbly, talked to Jimmy Kimmel about her Golden Globes experience. She was right next to the stage so she tried to watch her drinking. She also had a big reaction to Tina and Amy’s Bill Cosby joke. In the second video she explains that she used to clean houses and had a ditty to the “Ghostbusters” theme. And you have to see this (fake) “Wrigley’s Training Video” ad with Jessica and Jimmy, from early in her acting career. It’s very Jimmy Fallon-ish, but also adorably ’80s. New Golden Globe winner Patricia Arquette was also on JKL, talking about her win this past weekend for “Boyhood.” She’s excited for the movie, comparing it to the “Bad News Bears,” but she’s a tomboy so she hates all the dressing up for awards shows. Michael Strahan was on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and they had a sports talk about the controversial Dez Byrant call in the Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys game. Olivia Munn – always gorgeous, but looking slightly different for some reason (not in a bad way) – was also on Seth Meyers’s show and it turns out Olivia is good friends with Seth’s wife. Apparently Seth and his wife are a little too crazy about their dog? He’s their child. But that’s cute, right? Anderson Cooper was on “Late Show with David Letterman” – there’s something about his perfect white hair that’s just hypnotic – and he talked about the rally in Paris. Dave and Anderson further discussed the reasoning for why President Barack Obama didn’t attend the rally. Anderson wondered why VP Joe Biden didn’t go, since “that’s basically what vice presidents exist for.” If you want more on this debate, click on the video title and read the YouTube comments, since the viewers make some interesting points. Aubrey Plaza discussed the final season of “Parks and Recreation” and her lack of plans after the show. Dave is in the same position. So Aubrey asked if maybe they want to hang out. It’s actually a really funny chat. Matt LeBlanc was on “Conan” and it turns out he’s been spending time in London to shoot “Episodes.” He went to an exhibition and met Prince William and Prince Harry. They asked him about a “Friends” reunion and he calmly told them to “f-ck off.” (Not really. He had great delivery on that line, though.) He said they were really cool. He ran into Harry at a bar somewhere too and said he’s a lot of fun. He also discussed how Brits love the c-word. Felicity Jones (of “The Theory of Everything”) was also on “Conan” and talked about the very sweaty Golden Globes.

  • Best of Late Night TV: Bradley Cooper Plays Air Guitar in Birthday Afro, Bachelor Chris Soules Overshares (VIDEO)

If you’re like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. Here’s the best of what happened last night on late night.

The 2015 late-night talk shows are now in session! “The Tonight Show” welcomed the new year with Bradley Cooper playing Neil Young’s “Down by the River” on air guitar while wearing a crazy birthday hat afro and thrusting his crotch in audience members’s faces. It’s going to be a good year.
The story behind the crazy afro hats is that Jimmy gave one to Bradley for his birthday (Bradley turned 40 on January 5), then rocked one himself. Bradley also talked about Clint Eastwood and “American Sniper,” which sounds like a strange transition, especially since they did so much laughing. They just got a case of the giggles and couldn’t let it go.
ABC‘s new Bachelor, Chris Soules, was on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” talking about Monday night’s premiere. Does he like being called Prince Farming? Does he get to keep the clothes? Has he been back to farming? Jimmy said he knows who wins this time because he invaded Chris’s inner sanctum. (He probably always knows who wins from spoilers, but he’s refraining from sharing his “prediction” this time.) Jimmy shared a bunch of contestant photos, and Chris reacted with “crazy or not crazy.” Jimmy laughed and stopped him at one point, since Chris was giving away too much real information. Jimmy said he might get sued by ABC from all of Chris’s spoilery answers.
Anne Hathaway was also on JKL, and Jimmy asked her if she watched “The Bachelor.” She said no, but she does watch some reality TV. Or she did, for one day, when she had swine flu. She binge-watched “Toddlers & Tiaras.” Ha! She also talked about spending the holidays with her family, and she and Jimmy discussed the cut-off date for “Happy New Year.”
Kathy Griffin was on “Late Show” and she called the Fashion Police on David Letterman, to declare him one of the worst dressed. You can imagine how deeply Dave cared. #sarcasm They posed together, though, and Dave said she looked great. He said he’s not supposed to look great. Kathy disagreed. She also discussed her pre-telecast dinner with Ryan Seacrest and Anderson Cooper (she bashed the heck out of Ryan, you almost have to feel sorry for the guy) and talked about dyeing Anderson’s hair live on TV. She and Dave also shared some interesting sexual innuendo. “Selma” star David Oyelowo was also on Dave’s show, talking about theater, spoiling his kids, and his role as MLK Jr. Very different from Kathy Griffin.
Anna Kendrick, always the best part of any talk show, was on “Late Night” with Seth Meyers, and she talked about singing in “Into the Woods” and preparing for “Pitch Perfect 2.” Apparently the Green Bay Packers are huge PP fans and they’re in the sequel. Anna also talked about how much she loves red pandas. She went to the zoo on Christmas day and saw the pandas. Now she wants a whole farm of them.
Donald Faison was on “Conan,” talking about the difference – to him – between “Star Wars” and “Star Trek.” He likes one much more than the other. Much. In fact, he dogs the other one as boring and lame.
Courteney Cox was also on “Conan,” and apparently she has a really bad memory. She produces a show called “Celebrity Name Game,” hosted by Craig Ferguson (miss you, man) and she talked about the pressure of the game and her lousy memory. They showed a clip where she just couldn’t come up with ’80s band intel. It’s tragic. She said her memory is so bad that she forgets when she doesn’t like someone. She also talked about passing up a Central Perk pop-up store.
