‘Kim Possible’ Live-Action Movie Gets Premiere Date, Trailer

Disney Channel Anything is “Kim Possible”!
The Disney Channel revealed the premiere date of the live-action movie based on its hit series: Friday, Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. ET on Disney Channel and DisneyNOW.
The network also released the first trailer, which sees teen crimefighter Kim (Sadie Stanley) and best friend and sidekick, Ron Stoppable (Sean Giambrone), start Middleton High School, where they must navigate an intimidating new social hierarchy. They make a new friend, Athena (Ciara Wilson), and help her transform into the newest member of Team Possible.
But Athena starts to eclipse Kim just as the nefarious Drakken and Shego resurface in Middleton with a dastardly plan to finally stop Kim.
The movie includes cameos by animated series cast members Patton Oswalt (the voice of Professor Dementor), and Christy Carlson Romano, the Emmy-nominated actress/singer who voiced Kim in the animated series.
The original animated series ran from 2002 to 2007 on the Disney Channel and was both a ratings hit and a critical and awards darling.

people are so used to 26 yr olds playing 15 yr olds that they're still complaining about an actual child playing Kim Possible, who is an actual child too

Even live-action Kim Possible has fallen victim to the eternal curse of womanhood: pants with no pockets https://t.co/F5qBZdtntf

MY FIRST THOUGHT she needs the cargo pants dammit

The lack of pockets is a legitimate gripe.
Sean Giambrone (“The Goldbergs”) will play her BFF, Ron Stoppable. It was announced back in May that the amazing Alyson Hannigan would play Dr. Ann Possible, Kim’s brilliant brain-surgeon mom.
Other cast members include Connie Ray (“The Big C”) as Nana Possible; Todd Stashwick (“12 Monkeys”) as villain Drakko;, Taylor Ortega as his partner-in-crime, Shego; Ciara Wilson (“OMG!”) as new student Athena; and Erika Tham (“Make It Pop”) as Kim’s frenemy, Bonnie.
The “Kim Possible” movie will premiere on the Disney Channel in 2019.

Lindsay Lohan ‘Has Got to’ Return in ‘Life-Size 2,’ Says Tyra Banks
Tyra Banks wants Lindsay Lohan to “Be a Star” with her again.
The model-slash-actress is returning in the upcoming sequel to the Disney Channel’s 2000 TV movie “Life-Size,” and she’s determined to get her co-star back. Banks, who is executive producing the project, discussed the follow-up film during Wednesday’s episode of Steve Harvey’s “Steve.” While on the show, she made it clear that she’s hoping to get Lohan on board.
“Yes, I really, really want her to [return],” Banks said. “We’re talking about it right now and she has got to come back!”
Banks hasn’t said what role Lohan would play, but in the original, she was a girl named Casey who accidentally brought to life her Eve doll while trying to resurrect her mother. Banks portrayed the living, breathing version of Eve, and she helped Casey cope with her loss. However, in the end (spoiler alert!), Eve decided to return home and turn back into a doll again.
The sequel will follow Eve as she has an impact on another young woman, according to EW. The project is described as a “fun, edgy, modern Christmas movie.”
“Life-Size 2” is expected to premiere in December on Freeform.

‘Hocus Pocus’ Is Getting a TV Remake, But the Original Cast Is MIA (For Now)
Fans of Disney’s Halloween cult classic “Hocus Pocus” are in for either a trick or a treat, depending on their attachment to the original cast: The flick is set for a TV movie remake on the Disney Channel. But will Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy be back? The answer to that question is still up in the air, but for the time being, it appears to be “no.” Deadline reports that the new version is “a reimagining” of the 1993 film, which will be written by Scarlett Lacey (“The Royals”), and will have an all-new cast.
The original “Hocus Pocus” starred Midler, Parker, and Najimy as the Sanderson sisters, a trio of witches who are accidentally brought back to life in modern day Salem, Massachusetts. While all three actresses have been vocal in the past about their interest in returning for a potential sequel, Midler quashed fans’ dreams back in 2015 by stating that she didn’t think such a film would ever materialize.
According to Deadline, this new movie seems to be a completely new concept based on the original, though David Kirschner, a producer and co-writer of the story of the first film, will be back as an executive producer this time around. Original director Kenny Ortega will not be returning, sadly.
We’ll have to wait and see what the story is before we give this remake our official stamp of approval, though if Disney bases it off of fans’ ideas, we can probably get on board. Stay tuned. (And keep your fingers crossed that the flick finds a way to insert a cameo from the original Sistahs.)

Netflix Won’t Pick Up ‘Girl Meets World,’ Creator Still Hopeful It Will Find New Home
While the creator of “Girl Meets World” remains hopeful that another platform will pick up the recently cancelled Disney Channel series, one potential new home has reportedly shut its doors to the show.Boy Meets World” spinoff. The streaming service had been floated as a potential good fit for the show, but alas, it looks like that plan will not pan out.
Fans of “Girl” have been vocal in their disagreement with Disney, which cancelled the series after three seasons, especially since creator Michael Jacobs has maintained that there was a deal in place to make four seasons, and the show had already planned out story lines for upcoming episodes. Jacobs — who also created “Boy Meets World” — had previously said that the show’s creative team was shopping the series around to other interested platforms, though talks were still in the early stages.
In a new interview with TVLine, Jacobs didn’t discuss the report about Netflix, but did say he was still optimistic that the series could still return elsewhere.
“Hopefully there’s another venue out there that realizes there’s an audience that loves this,” Jacobs told TVLine. “There are many stories to tell. Maybe there’s an incarnation where we can do this and get both the old audience and the new audience. The last thing we’d want to do is overstay our welcome, but I think we died prematurely here.”
The final episode of “Girl Meets World” season three — and potentially, the series finale — airs tonight at 6 p.m. EST on the Disney Channel.

‘Girl Meets World’ Has ‘Ended,’ According to Rider Strong
Its future was already up in the air, with no fourth season renewal announced, but is “Girl Meets World” really ending for good? According to one cast member, the answer, sadly, is yes. That’s the word from Boy Meets World.” Strong, who also played Shawn on the original series, has been a recurring character throughout the entire run of “Girl,” which is currently slated to wrap its third season in January.
During a recent episode of his podcast, Literary Disco, Strong had some sobering words for “Girl” fans. Without saying so definitively, Strong indicated that the series had come to its conclusion.
“We finished the third season of ‘Girl Meets World’ — my brother and I were directing a lot of episodes and I acted in a couple — and the show ended,” Strong said on the podcast.
Deadline reports that that statement is in line with what the trades have been hearing about the show’s future, and that the series is all but cancelled:
Sources say that Disney Channel has not officially notified the cast and crew of the show’s future but no renewal is expected and the upcoming Jan. 20 third season finale, aptly titled “Girl Meets Goodbye”, would serve as a series finale.
That episode, which was originally scheduled to run in August before being pushed to January, features a massive “Boy Meets World” reunion, with a dozen original cast members appearing. If this truly is the end for “Girl,” at least it will go out on a high note.
New episodes of “Girl Meets World” return to Disney Channel on January 6, 2017. The season three finale airs on January 20, 2017.
