  • ‘Table 19’ Trailer: Anna Kendrick & Lisa Kudrow Lead Wedding Losers Revolution

At this particular wedding, “Table 19” is like The Island of Misfit Toys. We’re meant to pity them but, really, they are the heroes. The first trailer for ‘s new romantic comedy is out, forcing her into the losers club of Table 19, which also features rejects played by , , , , and .

Kendrick plays Eloise, an ex-maid-of-honor dropped from that role after the best man dumped her. (“After two years you break up with over text — ‘good luck with your future endeavors’? What are you, firing me?”) But she decided to go to the wedding anyway (Stage Five Clinger alert?) and that’s how she ended up in the Breakfast Club. As you can see in the trailer, the Table 19 crowd decide to carpe diem and reclaim the night, along with their own dignity. And, of course, there’s a handsome new potential suitor for Eloise.

“Table 19,” written by Jay & Mark Duplass and directed by Jeffrey Blitz, is scheduled for release January 20, 2017.

  • Anna Kendrick Names the Superhero She’d Be Willing to Play and, Well, It’s Nuts

"The Voices" Premiere - 2014 Toronto International Film FestivalIf they really go ahead with this movie, the dogs from Pixar’s “Up” should play the villains.

is on the new cover of Net-a-Porter’s magazine The Edit, and in the (really great) interview she talks about some of her past co-stars, mentioning , with whom she worked in “The Voices.”

From there, the conversation moved to superheroes, and which one she’d be willing to play:

“Ryan is one of the most authentic people I’ve worked with; I can’t think of a person more deserving of a hit like [‘Deadpool’]. He worked for so many years to get that film made because it’s a character that was inside of him.”

Would she take on the spandex suit that goes hand-in-hand with superhero status?

“My brother sent me a Squirrel Girl comic because he thinks I should [play her]. I
don’t know what Squirrel Girl does other than be half squirrel, but I could be half squirrel!”

    Squirrel Girl, eh?

As /FILM noted, a “Squirrel Girl” movie isn’t in development at this point, and they think it might be too goofy for Marvel. (But Ant-Man and Doctor Strange are pretty out there, and Guardians has a talking raccoon and Groot, so why not?)

Here’s more on the Marvel character, from /FILM:

“For those who aren’t familiar with Squirrel Girl, she’s a mutant by the name of Doreen Green. She grew up idolizing Iron Man (which sounds like the new Spider-Man) and attempted to be his sidekick under the name Squirrel Girl after defeating Doctor Doom by using an army of squirrels that she can communicate with. While that didn’t pan out for her, she eventually ended up getting recruited by the Great Lakes Avengers, who later became the Great Lakes X-Men when they determined each of them were mutants.

In addition to communicating with squirrels, the agile Squirrel Girl also has a prehensile tail that is about three or four feet long, claws on her hands, an enhanced sense of smell, knuckle spikes that are two or three inches long, strong teeth that can chew through wood and, of course, superhuman strength. Some of the sillier traits include pouches of nuts which she uses to feed her squirrel friends and amusingly refers to as her nut sacks.”

We can totally see Anna Kendrick selling nut sack jokes, “Deadpool”-style, for two hours. Take our money now, Marvel!

  • Watch Anna Kendrick & James Corden Perform a Full Relationship in 5 Minutes

“The Late Late Show” for a super-compact (but super-awesome) musical event.

Corden has already built a reputation for his “Carpool Karaoke” sketches, but it’s arguably more impressive when he and his guests perform a montage of live scenes, like this. Sometimes it’s, say, getting Tom Hanks to re-enact all of his movies in seven minutes. Last night, it was singing and dancing all the beats of a relationship in “Soundtrack to a Love Story with Anna Kendrick.” The soundtrack was pop songs, and the story went through meeting, dating, sex, marriage, a breakup — complete with Anna singing Adele while fake eating from a tub of ice cream — and then an “I Will Always Love You” reunion.

    Watch and love:

Because there’s no such thing as too much Anna Kendrick, watch her talk about how “Jurassic Park” freaked her out as a child:

Oh, and here’s Anna talking with fellow guest Jeff Goldblum about which song best describes her love life:
