Jay-Z and Williams will appear in this upcoming film, as will some other big stars, such as Naomi Campbell and Lupita Nyong’o.

The new movie will update the 2019 version of ‘The Lion King’ for “today’s young kings and queens in search of their own crowns,” according to the official synopsis.

  • Watch Rosamund Pike and Sam Riley in an exclusive clip from ‘Radioactive’

Watch Rosamund Pike and Sam Riley in an exclusive clip from ‘Radioactive’

Rosamund Pike and Sam Riley star in ‘Radioactive’

In the upcoming film ‘Radioactive,’ Rosamund Pike and Sam Riley play Marie Curie and Pierre Curie. Born Marie Sklodowska, the Polish-born scientist made history with the discovery of the elements radium and polinium. She would go on to be the first woman in history to win a Nobel Prize, and she would later win another as well.

In the clip below, the Curies present the results of their search for a new element:

    Here’s the official synopsis:

In late 19th century Paris, Polish-born genius Marie Sklodowska met fellow scientist Pierre Curie (Sam Riley). The pair went on to fall in love, marry, raise two daughters — and change the face of science and our world forever as their work proved the existence of what Curie called “radioactivity.” In 1903, the pair jointly won the Nobel Prize in Physics for their discovery, making Marie the first woman to earn the esteemed prize.

After the death of her beloved Pierre from a tragic accident in 1906, Marie’s commitment to science remained strong and her work ‘discovering’ and explaining previously unknown radioactive elements went on to win her a second Nobel Prize, even as it became terrifyingly evident that Curie’s work in radioactivity would lead to applications in medicine that could save lives by the thousands — or applications in warfare that could destroy them by the billions.

‘Radioactive’ will be available on Prime Video on July 24.

  • Watch Liam Neeson in the trailer for ‘Made in Italy’

Watch Liam Neeson in the trailer for ‘Made in Italy’

In the upcoming film ‘Made in Italy’ Liam Neeson’s particular set of skills don’t include home repairs. Neeson plays Robert, an artistic type who is estranged from his son Jack. The two men come to Italy to repair the Tuscan villa left to them by Robert’s wife and Jack’s mother, and they may just repair their relationship while they’re at it.

    Here’s the official synopsis:

James D’Arcy’s directorial debut, Made In Italy, is a heart-warming father son story set in glorious Tuscany about bohemian London artist Robert (Liam Neeson), who returns to Italy with his estranged son Jack (Micheál Richardson) to make a quick sale of the house they inherited from his late wife. Neither expects to find the once beautiful villa in such a state of disrepair…
Renovations go badly, with father and son soon finding themselves at odds. Robert’s comical lack of DIY experience leads him to seek help from some colorful locals including the no nonsense Kate (Lindsay Duncan), an ex-pat making her living selling villas who quickly captures his attention. For Jack, the state of the house seems to mirror his search for memories of happier times with his mother. He soon falls for Natalia (Valeria Bilello), a vivacious young Italian chef, who restores both body and soul with delights from her local trattoria – until the pair find their developing relationship in jeopardy from Natalia’s jealous and threatening ex-husband. As Robert and Jack painstakingly restore the villa to its previous glory, they also start to mend their relationship. The future may now look quite different and surprise them both.

‘Made in Italy’ will be in select theaters, drive-ins, and digital/VOD on August 7, 2020.

  • Gerard Butler desperately tries to get his family to safety in the ‘Greenland’ trailer

Gerard Butler desperately tries to get his family to safety in the ‘Greenland’ trailer

What would happen if the world found out that meteors were about to cause an extinction-level event? And what if word got out that world leaders might be sheltering in a remote bunker?

If you’re Gerard Butler’s character in ‘Greenland’, you’d pack your family in a pick-up and let nothing stand in your way to that bunker.

    Here’s the official synopsis:

A family fights for survival as a planet-killing comet races to Earth. John Garrity (Gerard Butler), his estranged wife Allison (Morena Baccarin), and young son Nathan make a perilous journey to their only hope for sanctuary. Amid terrifying news accounts of cities around the world being leveled by the comet’s fragments, the Garrity’s experience the best and worst in humanity. As the countdown to global apocalypse approaches zero, their incredible trek culminates in a desperate and last-minute flight to a possible safe haven.

‘Greenland’ director (and former stuntman) Ric Roman Waugh previously collaborated with Butler on 2019’s ‘Angel Has Fallen.’ The film’s supporting cast includes Scott Glenn, David Denman, Hope Davis, Andrew Bachelor, Joshua Mikel.

‘Greenland’ is expected in theaters on August 14.

  • ‘Game of Thrones’ star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is a hunter being hunted in the trailer for ‘The Silencing’

‘Game of Thrones’ star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is a hunter being hunted in the trailer for ‘The Silencing’

In the upcoming film ‘The Silencing,’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister from ‘Game of Thrones’) plays a man living in the wilderness who may be able to help the local sheriff track down a killer. And this killer is armed with something we don’t see all that often in the movies – an atlatl, a type of spear-thrower.

    Here’s the official synopsis:

A reformed hunter (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and a sheriff (Annabelle Wallis) are caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse when they set out to track a killer who may have kidnapped the hunter’s daughter five years ago.

From what we see in the trailer, the film will have plenty of jumps, especially because the killer’s choice of weapon allows for a lot less noise than any firearm or even a bow. And a silent killer is certainly in line with the film’s title.

‘The Silencing’ will be available on DirecTV on July 16, then in theaters and streaming on August 14.
