Watching Hugh Grant‘s transformation from sleazy, self-involved loafer to thoughtful father figure is enough to bring us to tears. His bond with awkward teen Marcus (Nicholas Hoult) is the heart of this rom-com-dram, even though he falls in love with Rachel Weisz and becomes a better man in the process. Toni Collette is absolutely heartbreaking as Marcus’ depressed mother. Beware of waterworks.
