It’s time for more “Nash Bridges.”

USA Network has a revival of the police drama in the works and original star Don Johnson is set to return, THR reports. The project is still in the early stages of development, per the publications sources, but the plan is to make a two-hour TV special. From there, it could reportedly grow into a series. USA Network representatives have not commented.

The special will take place around 2020, when Nash Bridges is still head of the San Francisco Police Departments Special Investigations Unit (SIU). He’ll have to deal with a changing city and job, a new boss, and new technology. During the show’s earlier six-season run from 1996 to 2001, he juggled parenting, his aging father, a new partner, and more.

So far, Johnson is the only cast member to have signed on. It remains to be seen if any of his former co-stars will reprise their roles. The show starred Johnson, Cheech Marin, James Gammon, Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, and Jeff Perry, among others.

Carlton Cuse, the creator of “Nash Bridges,” is not part of the project. Johnson will co-create the special with Bill Chais (“The Practice”). It comes from Village Roadshow, with Johnson, Chais, and Marc Rosen set to serve as executive producers.

USA Network’s “Brave New World” has added a two-time Golden Globe nominee. Demi Moore is set for a recurring role in the book-inspired series, Variety reports.

The series is written by David Wiener, Grant Morrison, and Brian Taylor, based on the classic Aldous Huxley novel. It takes place in a utopian society where there is peace and stability thanks to the prohibition of monogamy, privacy, money, family, and history. Moore will play Linda, a woman from that World State who was left behind on trip to a so-called Savage Reservation. That also makes the actress the onscreen mother of Alden Ehrenreich, who will portray John the Savage.

The series follows Harry Lloyd (Bernard Marx) and Jessica Brown Findlay (Lenina Crowne) as they journey to the Savage Reservation and get into a dangerous situation. They’re rescued by John, leading them to bring him back to the World State. The cast also includes Kylie Bunbury, Hannah John-Kamen, Sen Mitsuji, Joseph Morgan, and Nina Sosanya.

It’s unclear how many episodes Moore has signed on for. Prior to this project, her most recent recurring TV roles were on “Animals” and “Empire.” She has also continued to star in films, including “Blind” and the upcoming “Corporate Animals.”

“Brave New World” comes from UCP and Amblin Television. Weiner is the showrunner and is executive producing alongside Morrison, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, and Owen Harris. Taylor will be credited as an executive produce for the first episode and then as a consultant beyond that.

At long last, the fourth and final season of “Mr. Robot” is coming, and now we have a first-look image — and a poem. The show’s social media accounts unveiled the image on Thursday, with multiple tweets leading up to it on Wednesday that together form an interesting poem. They tell a story of corruption, crimes, and a brewing revolution.

The tweets are basically a “Mr. Robot” version of the classic Christmas poem “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,” which is very intentional. The show’s creator, Sam Esmail, previously announced at the Tribeca Film Festival (via Deadline) that the final season of “Mr. Robot” would be “one very long Christmas special that will last about a week over Christmas of 2015.”

    Here’s the full Twitter thread:

The final tweet also includes a website, where fans can presumably dig around for clues. That will help fill the time until “Mr. Robot” Season 4 returns. The show’s premiere isn’t until later this year.

  • Alden Ehrenreich Will Star in ‘Brave New World’ Series on USA

Alden Ehrenreich Will Star in ‘Brave New World’ Series on USA

    20th Century Fox

It’s highly unlikely Alden Ehrenreich will ever get a second stab at playing Han Solo, but the actor will be playing another iconic sci-fi character: John the Savage in “Brave New World.”

The USA series is based on the much-adapted Aldous Huxley’s 1932 novel about a “perfect” society where monogamy, privacy, money, and family are outlawed.

Ehrenreich’s character is a “subversive outsider who threatens to disrupt the stability of New London’s utopian society.”

Yet to be cast, main characters Bernard Marx and Lenina Crowne, citizens of New London who have never known anything other than rigid social order.

The series was adapted for television by “Homecoming” and “Fear the Walking Dead” alum David Wiener,  along with Grant Morrison and Brian Taylor. “Black Mirror: San Junipero” director Owen Harris is attached to direct the first episode.

Huxley’s classic novel has been adapted several times, including TV movies in 1980 (with Keir Dullea) and 1998 (with Peter Gallagher and Leonard Nimoy).

10 years ago, Ridley Scott was planning a production with Leonardo DiCaprio, but that never happened.

There’s soon going to be a new way to enter Aldous Huxley’s “Brave New World.”

An adaptation of the classic dystopian novel is headed to USA Network. USA announced Wednesday that it had given the project a straight-to-series order. David Wiener adapted it for TV with Grant Morrison and Brian Taylor, and he’ll serve as the showrunner. Owen Harris will direct the first episode.

Written in 1932, Huxley’s novel (as you may have learned in a high school English class) takes place is a supposed utopian society. Everyone is comfortable and content because they take copious amounts of a drug called Soma and can have all the sex, money, and material objects they want. When two New London citizens travel to the Savage Lands, however, they bring back a man named John, who challenges the way their society functions.

The series comes from Universal Content Productions and Ambin Television. Weiner, Morrison, and Harris will executive produce the series alongside Amblin’s Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey. Meanwhile Taylor is set to executive produce on the first episode.

A number of dystopian novels have done well as film or TV series. Recent successes include the “Hunger Games” and “Maze Runner” movies and Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale.” The upcoming “Brave New World” series may just have that same dystopian magic.

The “Suits” spinoff starring Gina Torres can now be called by its name.

The series is titled “Pearson,” according to Deadline, after Torres’s attorney character, Jessica Pearson. It centers on her and her life in Chicago. Previously, the title was reported to be “Second City.”

Torres starred on “Suits” from the show’s beginning in 2011 till she made her exit in Season 6. Her character moved to Chicago for love, and in real life, the actress reportedly chose to leave to be able to spend more time with her family. Torres has, however, continued to appear on the show on occasion, and her spinoff was introduced as a backdoor pilot in the Season 7 finale.

Creator Aaron Korsch has highlighted how the upcoming series will center on politics and noted that it’ll be a dirty business. “Jessica is going to get in a tangle and a tussle with some Chicago politics players,” he previously said.

“Pearson” began production in September. It is executive produced by Korsch, Torres, showrunnner Daniel Arkin, and Doug Liman, David Bartis, and Gene Klein of Hypnotic.

So far, a premiere date has not been announced.
