  • The ‘Stranger Things’ Kids Fail at Smack Talk on ‘Lip Sync Battle Preshow’

2017 Days Of The Dead - Atlanta, GeorgiaThe “Stranger Things” kids smack talk like they do most other things: adorably.

Four of the show’s stars — “Lip Sync Battle,” so the hosts of the preshow helped them get their game faces on. The young actors were each given the chance to “rattle some cages” and intimidate their co-stars, but as good as they are at acting, a couple of them seemed to have missed the finer points of talking trash.

“I think I might win … But I think you guys might win, too,” Schnapp said.

McLaughlin was even worse — he offered encouragement instead of fighting words: “Do good out there.”

Luckily, Wolfhard saved it all, busting out the big guns by bringing up how Matarazzo’s “Les Misérables” character died every night. “That’s going to happen again tonight,” he said.

Spike released two promos for the episodes, including one of McLaughlin performing LL Cool J’s “I’m Bad.”

The other video teased Wolfhard’s rendition of “Buddy Holly” by Weezer.

“Lip Sync Battle” airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Spike.

  • Tom Holland Channels Rihanna in All-Out ‘Umbrella’ Lip Sync

Talk about commitment. In case you missed it, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” star Tom Holland went all out in a lip sync performance of Rihanna‘s “Umbrella.” Wearing a skimpy outfit and stockings, the actor channeled all of Rihanna’s sexy moves while Zendaya, his lip sync rival, completely lost it in the background.

Although the network had already teased that he’d be doing Rihanna, the audience didn’t seem to know what they were in for. Holland first came out dressed as Gene Kelly and proceeded to do the famous “Singin’ in the Rain” sequence from the classic musical of the same name. And then there was a slight costume change and the backup dancers came out!

Zendaya also did a cross-dressing performance as Bruno Mars for “24k Magic,” but had to admit that Holland’s performance was “incredible.”

As Holland caught his breath, co-host Chrissy Teigen came down from the ceiling in a Spider-Man suit, saying she’d love to fulfill a fantasy. It seemed like she was about to recreate the famous upside-down kiss with Holland, but then her husband John Legend stepped up for the kiss.

The special “Lip Sync Battle” aired before the MTV Movie Awards.

Watch the whole crazy committed performance below:

  • John Cho vs. Ben Kingsley ‘Lip Sync Battle’ Is Too Strange & Sexy to Miss

You get down with your bad self, Gandhi!

“Lip Sync Battle” opens its third season October 12 with Oscar winner Sir Ben Kingsley, 72, vs. “Star Trek” and “Harold & Kumar” hero John Cho, 44. Gandhi vs. Sulu. But really it’s Elton John in full regalia vs. a grinding Rod Stewart. And we all win for watching.

Spike just released a couple of entertaining sneak peek videos to tease the Season 3 premiere, which airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. (Yep, that’s a new day and time.)

Here’s Sir Ben not-quite-singing Elton John’s “Rocketman” at the piano:

And here’s John Cho getting sexy right up in Sir Ben’s face to ask Rod Stewart’s eternal question, “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?”: The answer is yes! Photos for the premiere also show John Cho in cowboy mode…

… but there are no videos to tease that song yet, so you’ll have to watch Wednesday to see what he and his dastardly mustache are up to (or check out the YouTube videos Thursday morning).

Future lip sync-ers for Season 3 include Don Cheadle, Ruby Rose, Jay Leno, Laverne Cox, Lupita Nyong’o, Sarah Hyland, Wanda Sykes, Uzo Aduba, Milla Jovovich, America Ferrera, Regina Hall, Samira Wiley, Craig Ferguson, T.J. Miller, DeAndre Jordan, Jeff Dye, and Rob Riggle.

  • Marvel’s Hayley Atwell vs. Clark Gregg ‘Lip Sync Battle’ Is Hilariously Toxic

Never mind Captain America vs. Iron Man, Marvel’s real “Civil War” is happening Thursday night on Spike in the “Lip Sync Battle” between Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”) and Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter of “Marvel’s Agent Carter”).

The Dubsmash rivals will perform two songs each, per usual, and Spike has already shared some teases — one of Gregg taking on Britney Spears’s “Toxic” (KEEP THE COSTUME) and another of Atwell rocking The Offspring’s “Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)”:

Gregg’s teaser clip already has more than 1.8 million views, so you know fans are excited (or traumatized) to see more.

Based on the teaser photo below, we know Atwell’s second performance is going to be particularly bold, but there are no sneak peeks for that one yet.

“Lip Sync Battle” airs Thursday, April 21 at 10 p.m. on Spike. Who are you rooting for in this Marvel(ous) showdown? Next week’s battle is Joel McHale vs. Jim Rash, but do you think they will they ever get Chris Evans to take on Robert Downey Jr.?

  • Watch ‘The Walking Dead’ Stars Slay in ‘Lip Sync Battle’ Clips

It’s Maggie vs. Sasha this week on “Lip Sync Battle.” “The Walking Dead” Season 6 finale airs this Sunday on AMC, but first stars Lauren Cohan (Maggie) and Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha) are taking their slaying skills to Spike TV for a Thursday night showdown.

Yes, that’s Lauren and Sonequa in the pic above — loving the wig and leotard look!

Sonequa either chose or got stuck with the earworm song, “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae),” getting backup from some decaying walkers. Maybe that’s the secret to surviving the zombie apocalypse — teach the walkers some dance moves!

Lauren chose “Sister Christian” for one of her two battle songs, so check that out:

We can’t wait to see what she’s up to in her second song, since it prompted her to put on that amazing outfit from the top photo.

Find out who won the undead battle Thursday, March 31 at 10 p.m. … or Friday morning via YouTube clips.

Future Season 2 battles include NeNe Leakes vs. Todd Chrisley, Jason Derulo vs. Katharine McPhee, Clark Gregg vs. Hayley Atwell (can’t wait for that one!), Joel McHale vs. Jim Rash, and Gina Rodriguez vs. Wilmer Valderrama.

  • ‘Lip Sync Battle Jr.’ Spinoff Coming to Spike, Nickelodeon

Spike is expanding its “Lip Sync Battle” brand with a new special aimed at the massively popular show’s younger viewers.

The network will partner with sister station Nickelodeon to make “Lip Sync Battle Jr.,” a one-off special set to air on both networks sometime later this year. In a press release, Spike said the spinoff special “will celebrate kids’ love of music and comedy featuring the battles viewers have come to know and love with new variety elements designed to let the little ones shine. The series will be a fresh take on Spike’s star-studded series.”

It’s unclear at this point if “Jr.” will use Nickelodeon stars as its celeb contestants, or if everyday kids will have the chance to participate. But with the success of other reality shows that have gone with a kiddie format — like “MasterChef Junior” or “Project Runway Junior” — it makes sense for Spike to branch out, too.

According to “LSB” executive producers Casey Patterson and Jay Peterson, it was the viral sensation’s “multigenerational appeal” among viewers (an average of 4 million tune in every week, and the series has racked up over 500 million online views) that inspired this new special.

“On the long list of wonderful surprises about ‘Lip Sync Battle’ is our family co-viewing,” Patterson and Peterson said in a statement. ” … [T]he whole ‘Lip Sync Battle’ family is very excited about developing a new music based, comedy variety format to showcase how much our ‘Lip Sync Battle’ kids rock! It’s all the fun of ‘Lip Sync Battle,’ only smaller.”

In addition to the “Lip Sync Battle Jr.” special, Spike’s parent company, Viacom, is also developing what it dubs “special editions of ‘Lip Sync Battle’ events.” Stay tuned for more info.

  • Who Run the World? Watch Channing Tatum and Beyonce on ‘Lip Sync Battle’

Lip sync BattleWho run the world? Girls. But who run “Lip Sync Battle”? That, without a doubt, has to be Channing Tatum and Beyoncé.

This week’s “Lip Sync Battle” featured a duel between two Tatums — the actor and his wife, Jenna Dewan Tatum. She started the battle with a fierce, sexy, NSFW simulation of his dance to Ginuwine’s “Pony” in “Magic Mike XXL.”

But Channing upped the ante by dressing up as Beyoncé for an all-out performance to Beyonce’s “Who Run the World” — complete with wind effects. The guy has moves, as we’ve all seen, but he was really nailing it. Then, the house really came down when Queen Bey herself came out to join in the fun.

OK, maybe it’s stacking the deck in your favor to bring out Beyonce, but hey, all’s fair in love and “Lip Sync Battle.”

  • Joseph Gordon-Levitt Returning to ‘Lip Sync Battle’ vs. Seth Rogen & Anthony Mackie

lip sync battle, joseph gordon-levitt, seth rogen, anthony mackieLip Sync Battle” crown again, and is teaming up with his “The Night Before” costars Seth Rogen and Anthony Mackie for an epic holiday special edition of the Spike show.

Gordon-Levitt, Rogen, and Mackie are set to throw down later this month, joining hosts LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen for some holiday-themed debauchery, complete with Rogen playing a naughty Elf on the Shelf and an appearance from rappers Run-D.M.C., who perform (well, “perform,” since they’ll probably be lip syncing, too) their classic “Christmas in Hollis.” Other special guests are set to drop in, too.

But the real draw will be to see if Gordon-Levitt can once again claim “Lip Sync Battle” glory, following his The Tonight Show,” where he went head-to-head with Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Merchant. While Fallon granted both men the crown, audiences seemingly sided with Gordon-Levitt, and he’s not likely to leave the “Lip Sync Battle” stage this time without sole possession of the championship belt — even if he’s gotta dress in drag as Janet Jackson to do it.

Check out a preview of the fun below. The “Lip Sync Battle” holiday special airs on November 19 on Spike.
