Extended ‘Twilight Zone’ Trailer Gives a Chilling Deep Look into Jordan Peele’s Mind

    CBS All-Access

This is Jordan Peele’s world and we’re (gladly) just living in it.

The Oscar winner is riding high on the huge success of his second feature, “Us.” And now, he’s about to present his reboot of “The Twilight Zone,” which debuts April 1 on CBS All-Access. April Fool’s indeed.

Peele serves as the executive producer and narrator of the reboot, much like Rod Serling did for the seminal sci-fi/fantasy/horror/thriller series that first ran from 1959 to 1964.

The new trailer features a bunch of chilling new footage, with flashes of some of the later episodes we haven’t seen yet. Most of the characters look anxious or panicked, as they confront strange occurrences, suffer from paranoia, and generally feel like reality is getting warped.

As one character says, “When the world is trying to tell you something, it will repeat itself until you get it.”

The series consists of 10 episodes and boasts an all-star cast including:
Ike Barinholtz, John Cho, Taissa Farmiga, Ginnifer Goodwin, Greg Kinnear, Sanaa Lathan, Tracy Morgan, Kumail Nanjiani, Seth Rogen, Adam Scott, Rhea Seehorn, Allison Tolman, Jacob Tremblay, Jessica Williams and Steven Yeun.

“Twilight Zone” premieres April 1 with two episodes. After that the anthology will air weekly Thursdays starting April 11 on CBS All-Access.

    Netflix

Seth Rogen will star in an episode of the new Jordan Peele-hosted-and-produced “Twilight Zone.”

We don’t know what the episode is or what character he’ll play, but if it keeps with the ’60s original, the options range from an alien who’s been hiding his third all eye all these years to a sadsack hired Santa who suddenly finds himself with a real magical gift bag.

Already announced for the show’s premiere is guest star Adam Scott, who’ll be putting a new spin on the classic “Nightmare At 30,000 Feet.”

Steven Yeun and Greg Kinnear will appear in an episode called “The Traveler.” There’s no ep from the ’60s series (or the ’80s reboot) with that title, so it might be an original.

Other stars set to appear in the sci-fi series include Kumail Nanjiani, John Cho, Ike Barinholtz, Taissa Farmiga, Ginnifer Goodwin, Luke Kirby, Sanaa Lathan, Rhea Seehorn, Alison Tolman, Jacob Tremblay, Jessica Williams, and DeWanda Wise.

Rogen was a hilarious Victor Frankenstein in a recent episode of “Drunk History” and costarred in pal James Franco’s “The Disaster Artist.” His political comedy “Long Shot” with Charlize Theron opens May 3.

He also joins Yuen and Mark Hamill in the upcoming superhero series “Invincible.”

You can stream all episodes of the original “Twilight Zone” on CBS All Access right now, which is also where the new series will air.

    CBS All-Access

What dimension are we even in? Jordan Peele’s dimension.

CBS All-Access debuted the first trailer for Peele’s reboot of “The Twilight Zone,” the seminal sci-fi/fantasy/horror/thriller series that first ran from 1959 to 1964.

The trailer features the iconic music from the original series set over flashes of characters looking perturbed, anxious, and downright horrified. There’s also a glimpse of Peele, who narrates the show as well as serving as executive producer — much like Rod Serling did with the flagship.

In the trailer, Adam Scott keeps seeing the same number over and over again, while Kumail Nanjiani wonders where his dog is. John Cho seems to be in the White House, and Tracy Morgan asks, “You happy with your life? Don’t you want it all?”

The show also stars Ike Barinholtz, Lucinda Dryzek, Taissa Farmiga, James Frain, Ginnifer Goodwin, Zabryna Guevara, Percy Hynes-White, Greg Kinnear, Luke Kirby, Sanaa Lathan, Rhea Seehorn, Alison Tolman, Jacob Tremblay, Jefferson White, Jonathan Whitesell, Jessica Williams, DeWanda Wise and Steven Yeun.

“Twilight Zone” premieres April 1 with two episodes. After that the anthology will air weekly Thursdays starting April 11 on CBS All-Access.

Yes, the Jordan Peele-hosted reboot of “The Twilight Zone” will be redoing classic episodes, including arguably the most famous episode of all, “Nightmare at 30,000 Feet.”

    CBS

Adam Scott (who last starred on “Ghosted”) will take over the role first played by William Shatner of a man just recovering from a nervous breakdown who can’t make anyone else believe there’s a monster on the wing of the airplane.

It was redone with John Lithgow in “Twilight Zone: The Movie” and parodied on “The Simpsons” with Bart encountering a gremlin on the school bus.

Sanaa Lathan was previously announced to star in an update of “Rewind,” an episode from the 2002-2003 revival that aired on UPN.

We’re guessing other famed eps such as “It’s a Good Life,” and “Time Enough at Last” are also on the reboot list.

Look for the reboot on CBS All Access in 2019.

Jordan Peele was already announced to be producing a revival of “The Twilight Zone,” but now we know he’ll be hosting and narrating as well. Just like Rod Serling.

The “Get Out” director’s revival of the 1960s series will stream on CBS All Access in 2019.

Peele has such reverence for Serling’s classic “The Twilight Zone” (as we all should), he included Serling’s voice-over in the first teaser, blending the original narrator’s voice with his own to show a smooth transition from Then to Now.

The first teaser just came out — really just an “Official Host Announcement” revealing that producer Jordan Peele himself would be fully embracing the same role Rod Serling had in the original series.

Jordan Peele: “Rod Serling was an uncompromising visionary who not only shed light on social issues of his time, but prophesied issues of ours. I’m honored to carry on his legacy to a new generation of audiences as the gatekeeper of ‘The Twilight Zone.’”

As Collider noted, every episode of the original 1959-1964 series is available to stream now on CBS All Access.

The new “Twilight Zone” will start filming this fall for its premiere on CBS All Access at some point in 2019.
