  • Matt Damon Still Stuck on Mars in 2nd ‘The Martian’ Trailer

Clearly, it was in the back of Matt Damon’s mind.

“I guarantee you that at some point everything is going to go south on you,” he tells his space crew at the beginning of the second trailer for “The Martian.”

    Boy, does it ever.

As we already know from the first trailer, Damon ends up stranded on Mars, 140 million miles away from Earth, with only 50 days of food and a rescue mission that’ll take four years to reach him — IF he can figure out a way to contact NASA.

The good news is that he’s able to phone home. “I’m still alive,” he says, looking haggard and wearing what looks like a space bathrobe. “Surprise!”

The bad news: How to grow three years and 10 months of food on a barren and forbidding planet. “So I’m going to have to science the s— out of this,” he decides.

The even more bad news: NASA’s not so hot to risk the lives of other astronauts to get him. “It’s bigger than one person,” grouches NASA honcho Jeff Daniels.

Which means it’s time to go interplanetary rogue as rescuers suit up anyway and blast off for what could be a suicide mission.

“The Martian,” which also stars Kate Mara, Kristen Wiig, Jessica Chastain, Michael Pena, Donald Glover and Chiwetel Ejiofor, hits theaters Oct. 2.

  • Matt Damon Has an Aquaman Question in New ‘Martian’ Video

The MartianIf you had to spend 10 days in total isolation, what would you think about? Maybe how Aquaman can control whales?

“The Martian” released a “behind the scenes” video of the Ares 3 crew preparing for their mission to Mars. The crew members are interviewed by a psychologist after a 10-day isolation test. And what they thought about did in that time — and how they respond to the psychologist — is illuminating.

Matt Damon’s astronaut, Mark Watney, pondered that deep question about Aquaman’s abilities. Watch to see what Jessica Chastain, Michael Peña, Kate Mara, Sebastian Stan, and Aksel Hennie had to say.

    Watch the video.

In “The Martian,” Watney is left alone on Mars after being presumed dead and the Ares 3 crew leaves the planet. He has to use some ingenuity to stretch his meagre supplies and find a way to contact Earth to try to find a way to return home. The movie opens October 2.

  • Watch Bryce Dallas Howard’s Musical PSA: ‘I Am Not Jessica Chastain’

kate spade new york And Bryce Dallas Howard Celebrate Women In Film During The Toronto International Film FestivalSometimes celebrities just look too much alike. It happens. Full disclosure: We can’t always tell the generically handsome Chris-es apart. Evans. Pratt. Hemsworth. Pine. It’s like there’s a hot blond conveyor belt out there — and apparently the same thing is happening on a ginger beauty front for Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard. But enough is enough! They are different people, and if takes a brilliant spoof song to set the record straight, all the better.

Legolambs recently released a video called “Jessica Chastain: The Musical (Bryce Dallas Howard),” from the perspective of “The Village” actress, who is heard singing lyrics like this: “I apologize for breaking the illusion, but it’s time I put an end to the confusion. I am not Jessica Chastain. I’m the one from ‘Lady in the Water.’ Chrissakes, I am Ron Howard’s daughter…”

    Here’s the video:
That is clearly awesome, and it found its way to the actresses themselves. Here’s Bryce lip syncing to the video in post on Jessica’s Instagram:

Everyone get it yet? : ) performance by #BryceDallasHoward not #JessicaChastain

A video posted by Jessica Chastain (@chastainiac) on

Yes! Viewers will have another chance to get confused by the actresses when Bryce stars in “Jurassic World” this weekend, and Jessica stars in “The Martian” later this year.

  • Matt Damon Is Stranded on Mars in Intense First Trailer for ‘The Martian’

Never mind little green men, there’s only one man we need to worry about in “The Martian“: Matt Damon‘s astronaut Mark Watney. During a manned mission to Mars, he’s left behind and presumed dead. But he’s not dead. He’s just stuck there. So he’s forced to use Bourne-level smarts to survive and signal home that he’s still alive.

20th Century Fox just released the first 3-minute, 17-second trailer for “The Martian” and — prepare to cringe at this, but dammit it’s still true — it’s out of this world. Just watch:

“The Martian” is directed by Ridley Scott, so it’s already off to a great start, and it’s based on the novel by Andy Weir. Matt Damon is the headliner, but he’s joined by A-listers Jessica Chastain, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sean Bean, Kate Mara, Michael Pena, Donald Glover, and … Kristen Wiig? Yeah, she’s branching away from just comedies, and this is certainly going to be a big showcase.

Fans — and we’re holding our hands up on this — can’t get enough space movies, from “Alien,” “2001” and “Star Wars” to “Apollo 13,” “Gravity” and “Interstellar.” Heck, even “Spaceballs.” With the impressive credentials involved, we’re thinking this is destined for something closer to Danny Boyle’s “Sunshine” than Michael Bay’s “Armageddon,” but we’ll see.

“The Martian” is scheduled for release on November 25.
