  • Watch Jon Stewart Get Cozy Under Stephen Colbert’s ‘Late Show’ Desk

Everyone has their hobbies in retirement. For example, “The Late Show” desk.

The former “Daily Show” host visited Colbert on the set of his CBS late-night show on Tuesday night, and he joined him in discussing some of the biggest headlines. Reunited, they took the chance to throw shade at the Trump administration, chat about the royal wedding, discuss Netflix’s deal with the Obamas, and more. Stewart also seized the opportunity to jokingly irritate his friend by doing things like poking him with a throwing star and peeping out of turn.

Watch the two “Daily Show” alums’ reunion below.

It’s always fun to see Colbert and Stewart back together again. We’re glad Stewart took time away from farm life to take up residence beneath Colbert’s desk. That’s friendship.

“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

  • Watch Donald Glover Help a Girl Scout Reach Her Cookie Goal on ‘The Late Show’

Girl Scout cookie season is arguably the best time of the year, and it brought us extra joy on Wednesday when “The Late Show.”

The “Atlanta” creator and star was a guest on the show, giving host Stephen Colbert the perfect opportunity to introduce Glover to an enterprising Girl Scout named Charity Joy who had used his Childish Gambino song “Redbone” in a video advertising her cookies. She changed the lyrics to gems like “Thin mints, you wanna order some before it’s too late. We also got Trefoils and they taste great.” Glover had seen the video and was “touched” by it, he told Colbert.

“It’s beautiful,” Glover said, “but it’s also crazy to me. … I never was like, ‘I’ll make this and then one day a little girl will sell Girl Scout cookies to it.’”

Colbert gave Glover the chance to buy cookies straight from Charity Joy. Both she and her father came out to meet Glover, who wasted no time in looking at the cookie catalog. When he saw that Charity Joy’s cookie goal was 113 more boxes, he told her he’d buy them all, making her very happy.

Watch the successful cookie sale, starting at 7:25.

“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

  • Stephen Colbert’s ‘Daily Show’ Reunion to Include Jon Stewart, Samantha Bee, John Oliver, More

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert...“Daily Show” reunion, and it’s coming soon.

The “Late Show” host is rounding up several fellow “Daily Show” vets to celebrate his 20th anniversary in late-night TV. Jon Stewart, Samantha Bee, John Oliver, Ed Helms, and Rob Corddry will all be on hand for the reunion on May 9, as CBS announced Wednesday.

Colbert served as a correspondent on the Comedy Central series from 1997 to 2005, memorably portraying a satirical conservative pundit that he brought to the spinoff “The Colbert Report.” Bee and Oliver also served as correspondents before getting their respective spinoffs, “Full Frontal” and “Last Week Tonight.” Meanwhile, Helms and Corddry took a different route and went on to high-profile acting roles rather than hosting gigs. Helms starred in “The Office” and the Hangover movies, and Corddry currently stars in HBO’s “Ballers.”

Former “Daily Show” host Stewart previously joined Colbert on his show, and it was a hilarious guest appearance. Getting the whole group together should be even more fun to watch.

“The Late Show” airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

  • Stephen Colbert to Go Uncensored in Live Election Night Special

CBS's "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" - Season OneElection Night will be hard on some people, but whatever the outcome, it’ll be a good night for Stephen Colbert fans.

Showtime announced today that the “Late Show” host will bring his hilarious political satire and commentary to the premium network for a live, one-hour election special. The title is a mouthful — “Stephen Colbert’s Live Election Night Democracy’s Series Finale: Who’s Going to Clean Up This Sh*t?” — but the concept is pretty simple: Colbert will react in real time to the election results.

The special will appeal to viewers “who want to see all the latest news, without actually having to watch the news,” according to Showtime. As a bonus, Colbert’s commentary won’t be bleeped out like some of it would be on network television.

“It’ll be all the political comedy you love from my CBS show, with all the swearing and nudity you love from Showtime,” said Colbert in a press release.

Actual physical nudity seems unlikely, but we should get some emotional nakedness, so to speak. The comedian will speak to a variety of people about the election results, and there are bound to be some strong emotions. Tears of joy, tears of outrage — we could see it all.

The special, which is being filmed at New York City’s Ed Sullivan Theater, will also include remote segments and surprise guests. Are you bleeping ready for this?

The election special will air Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 11 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. PT.

  • Top 30 Best Late Night Hosts, as Ranked by Various Demographics

2015 AFI Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute Honoring Steve Martin - ShowHeeeeeeeere’s … Conan?

Johnny Carson is still the No. 1 choice for best talk show host of all time, but a new poll from Ranker shows Conan O’Brien is the favorite current late-night host. The poll — which was determined through more than 24,000 votes, with 30 hosts to rank — handed the Jimmy war to Kimmel over Fallon (although not to certain demos, see below) and offered some pretty bad news to Jay Leno, listed down at No. 12, with James Corden at No. 18 and Seth Meyers (who recently banned Donald Trump from “Late Night”) down at No. 19.

    Here’s the overall top 10:

    1. Johnny Carson
    2. Conan O’Brien
    3. David Letterman
    4. Jimmy Kimmel
    5. Jimmy Fallon
    6. Jon Stewart
    7. Craig Ferguson
    8. Stephen Colbert
    9. John Oliver
    10. Steve Allen

Jay Leno Visits "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon"Here’s the full top 30 ranking.

However, the list changes dramatically when you change the settings to show, say, how women ranked the hosts, or men, or by age, region, and around the world. Ranker broke down the results with some interesting demo details:

Millennials chose Conan O’Brien as No. 1 overall, ahead of Johnny Carson.

Women picked Jon Stewart as their top choice after Johnny Carson and David Letterman.

Gen X and Baby Boomers prefer Jimmy Fallon over Conan O’Brien.

Southern voters ranked Jimmy Fallon No. 2 after Johnny Carson.

Northeastern voters prefer Stephen Colbert and John Oliver ranking them No. 2 and No. 3 respectively after Carson. They also voted Conan, Fallon and Kimmel lower than any other group ranking them at No. 7, No. 18 and No. 19.

Check out the different demo rankings here. Who would be your No. 1?

  • David Letterman Thinks ‘The Late Show’ Should Have Gone to a Woman

The 75th Annual Peabody Awards Ceremony - Press RoomWe haven’t heard too much from David Letterman since he retired from “The Late Show” (and subsequently grew a magnificent beard) in May 2015. Now, he’s speaking out about life after leaving late night, and in true Letterman fashion, he’s not mincing his words — especially when it comes to who he thinks really should have gotten the job.

The interview, conducted by Tom Brokaw for a “Dateline” segment set to air this weekend, features Letterman getting candid about how he doesn’t actually miss the job that went to Stephen Colbert.

“I thought for sure I would,” Letterman admitted. “And then the first day of Stephen’s show, when he went on the air, an energy left me and I felt like, ‘You know, that’s not my problem anymore.’ And I’ve kind of felt that way ever since. … I couldn’t care less about late night television.”

The former host also said that he’s happy for Colbert, and admires what the show’s become under his successor’s guidance. But why, Letterman wondered, wasn’t a woman considered for the job instead?

“There should be more women,” he said of the current late night landscape. “I don’t know why they didn’t give my show to a woman. That would have been fine.”

While Letterman’s statement certainly isn’t an indictment of Colbert, it’s not exactly a ringing endorsement, either. And his point about the lack of female-fronted late night programs is a valid one.

As Uproxx notes, Colbert has been having a bit of a rough time lately. Looks like he can add his predecessor’s interview to the pile, too.

The entire Letterman segment will air on “Dateline” on Sunday at 7 p.m.
