It’s off to a mysterious island for Naomie Harris. The Oscar nominee booked her ticket by signing on for the HBO and Sky mystery drama “The Third Day.” Harris is set to star in the six-episode limited series alongside Jude Law, according to Deadline.

The story, which comes from creators Felix Barrett and Dennis Kelly, centers on a mysterious island not far from Britain, where a group of islanders live. They’re determined to preserve their traditions, no matter the cost. The first three episodes will make up the first half, “Summer,” directed by Marc Munden, while the episodes in the second part, “Winter,” will be helmed by Philippa Lowthorpe.

Law’s character, Sam, will find the island in the first half of “The Third Day,” and Harris’s character, Helen, will arrive in the second. She’s described as “a strong-willed outsider who comes to the island seeking answers. Apparently, her showing up will spark a battle to decide the island’s fate.

Harris has been active in films, television, and theater, taking on a variety of projects and genres. She has notably starred in movies such as “Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle,” “Collateral Beauty,” and “Moonlight.” Her work in the latter earned her an Academy Award nomination.

“The Third Day” is written by Kit de Waal and Dean O’Loughlin and produced by Sky Studios, Plan B Entertainment, and Punchdrunk International. The project’s executive producers are Kelly, Munden, Lowthorpe, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner, and Adrian Sturges is a producer. Production has already begun, and the limited series is expected to premiere in 2020. Viewers who want to join Harris on the island will find the show on HBO in the United States and Sky Atlantic and its streaming service Now TV in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Jude Law is returning to HBO. The “Young Pope” star is set to star in the limited series “The Third Day,” a co-production from HBO and Sky.

The six-episode drama centers around Sam (Law), who after being drawn to a mysterious island off the British Coast, is thrown into the unusual world of its secretive inhabitants. Isolated from the mainland, the rituals of the island begin to overwhelm him, and he is confronted by a trauma from his past.

As the line between reality and fantasy blurs, Sam finds himself immersed in an emotional quest which puts him at odds with the islanders and begins to threaten their way of life.

The project comes from writer Dennis Kelly (“Utopia”) and Felix Barrett (artistic director of the immersive theatre company Punchdrunk International). Marc Munden (“National Treasure”) will direct.

Production will begin next month in the U.K. The series will likely air sometime next year on HBO in the U.S. and on Sky for British viewers.

This is the latest collaboration between Sky and HBO; they also partnered on the recently-concluded, acclaimed miniseries “Chernobyl.”

Law recently starred in “Captain Marvel” and will reprise his “Young Pope” role in HBO’s follow-up “The New Pope.”

Yes, yes, give us all the Patrick Dempsey. McMore!

Last year, we heard that Dempsey had landed his first major TV role since leaving “Grey’s Anatomy.” That crime mini-series, “The Truth About The Harry Quebert Affair,” will premiere in the U.K. on September 4, with Epix handling the U.S. release at some point in 2018.

That’s per Deadline, which also shared scoop on Dempsey’s next series role. It’s another international project. Dempsey and Italian star Alessandro Borghi (“Suburra“) will lead the cast of the new financial-world thriller series “Devils.”

“Devils” is based on the best-selling novel by Italian trader Guido Maria Brera. Here’s more on the show, per Deadline:

“[T]he anticipated ten-part English-language series will be set in the London office of a major U.S. bank, where the ruthless Head of Trading, Massimo Ruggero (Borghi) from Italy, has been welcomed and introduced to the world of finance by Dominic Morgan (Dempsey), the bank’s CEO. When Ruggero ends up involved in an intercontinental financial war rocking Europe, he has to choose whether to ally himself with his mentor or fight him. The book was partly inspired by the financial crisis that swept global markets in 2008.”

The 10-episode series is meant to take 24 weeks to shoot, starting September in London and Rome. It sounds like a heavenly time to film in two stunning cities, despite the devilish title.

“Devils” comes from Sky Italia (“The Young Pope”) with co-funding and international distribution from Sky Vision.

“This is the first Sky Italia Original that Sky Vision will co-fund and distribute internationally,” said Moreyba Bidessie, Scripted Acquisitions Manager of Sky Vision, in a statement to Deadline, “and is testimony to continuing the drive to create world class, premium television that Sky Vision is proud to be a part of. ‘Devils’ is a brilliantly heady mix of thriller and conspiracy and how the seduction of power can corrupt even the strongest of bonds.”

Stay tuned for more details on “Devils.” In the meantime, here’s the Sky Witness trailer for “The Truth About The Harry Quebert Affair,” which premieres in the U.K. September 4:
