Can you imagine having both Bucky Barnes and Christian Grey competing for you?

There’s been a lot of talk about Netflix’s upcoming rom-coms, but they don’t own the romance market. This film doesn’t sound like a comedy, but the indie drama has Shailene Woodley romancing both Sebastian Stan and Jamie Dornan.

(If Chris Evans doesn’t show up at the last minute to win back Sebastian Stan … Thanos should just snap everyone involved.)

The movie starts shooting in Los Angeles this week. According to Deadline, it’s set in present day L.A. and follows Daphne (Woodley), “a thirtysomething woman navigating love and heartbreak over the course of one year. During that time, she will unlock the secrets to her life in a sudden turn of events and in the most surprising of places.”

Collider added a few more details, noting that the movie was developed under the working title “No, No, No, Yes,” but that’s unlikely to be the final title.

Shailene Woodley plays an artist who dumps her longtime boyfriend, Collider reports, but her attempt to take a break from dating ends when she quickly finds herself in two passionate romances. One of those romances is with an artsy writer played by Jamie Dornan, and the other is with a passionate bad boy played by Sebastian Stan.

If this movie does not do well, it won’t be because of the cast or set-up, which is pretty much ideal for a particular market.

Also, Matthew Gray Gubler of “Criminal Minds” will co-star (maybe as the jilted longtime boyfriend?). The film is being directed by Drake Doremus, who co-wrote the script with novelist Jardine Libaire.

  • Nicole Kidman and Sebastian Stan Go Dark in ‘Destroyer’ Trailer

Nicole Kidman and Sebastian Stan Go Dark in ‘Destroyer’ Trailer

    Annapurna Pictures

Based on the early praise for Nicole Kidman, we should expect to see her name on awards lists for “Destroyer.”

She already has one Oscar under her belt, and director Karyn Kusama‘s cop thriller may give her another. “Destroyer” premiered to raves for Kidman’s performance (if not the entire film) at the Telluride Film Festival. Now you can see the first trailer before the film arrives in theaters this Christmas.

Here’s what the movie is about:

“‘Destroyer’ follows the moral and existential odyssey of LAPD detective Erin Bell who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert with tragic results. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past.”

“Destroyer” co-stars Sebastian Stan — prominently featured in the trailer — along with Toby KebbellTatiana MaslanyScoot McNairyBradley WhitfordToby Huss, and James Jordan.

    Here’s the trailer:

Last month, Karyn Kusama (“Girlfight,” “Jennifer’s Body,” “Æon Flux,” “The Invitation“) talked to Vanity Fair about the look they wanted for Nicole Kidman’s character:

“We always knew that what we wanted her to look like was a real middle-aged woman with a past that she wears on her face. With sun damage and sleep deprivation and stress and rage, just in her whole physical body.”

“Destroyer” is scheduled for release in select theaters on December 25. Yeah, it’s kind of a depressing holiday gift, but maybe you’ll be in that kind of mood on Christmas. Let’s face it, sometimes Christmas is exactly this dark and depressing.

  • Chris Evans Clarifies That ‘Avengers 4’ Tweet, Gives Big Bucky Tease

Chris Evans Clarifies That ‘Avengers 4’ Tweet, Gives Big Bucky Tease

    Avengers: Infinity War
    Marvel Studios

Chris Evans is trying to backtrack from his potential Ruffalo.

It had already been reported that Evans planned to hang up his shield as Captain America/Steve Rogers after “Avengers 4.” Evans gave fuel to that fire on October 4 when he tweeted about wrapping “Avengers 4,” adding some poignant notes about playing the character for the past eight years.

It read like a goodbye. It read to many like a goodbye where Captain America probably dies. Fans were in tears. It got heavy.

Evans was put on the spot during an appearance at ACE Comic Con in Chicago. He addressed the tweet and the intense emotional response it evoked (via Comicbook):

“I should clarify that I know I did tweet something that made a lot of people think that it was in someway a spoiler. I should clarify that regardless of how ‘Avengers 4’ ends, I would have tweeted the exact same thing. That last day of filming was a very emotional day and it was the culmination of almost 10 years of filming and 22 movies, this unbelievable tapestry.

You feel a lot more emotions than I think even I thought I’d feel. And I felt it was appropriate to share the gratitude. I know it had a ripple effect but I am neither confirming or denying anything.”

    Uh huh. OK.

Also at the Comic Con event, Evans was asked what it was like for his Steve Rogers to watch his childhood BFF Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) die two times — including Bucky’s dust-busting at the end of “Avengers: Infinty War.” Evans’ answer suggested some serious Stucky feels ahead:

“I think that’s one of the more precious relationships for Steve Rogers, you know. It’s one of the few relationships that’s been able to transfer into modern day. It’s one of the few relationships that he can identify as anything we would call home. I don’t know how far I can go into that response. Yeah, I’m going to have to maybe leave it there.”

Oh if you leave it there the fans will pick it up and run with it. But that’s fun too.

Bucky is “home.” That’s love. Is it also a hint to the “sacrifices” ahead?

“Avengers 4” has officially wrapped reshoots filming for everyone, not just Chris Evans. The film is scheduled to open May 3, 2019. We’re on standby to get the official title and some kind of teaser/trailer/official photos.

This is the most Dad move ever.

Sebastian Stan looks a lot like young Mark Hamill, and the two Marvel/Lucasfilm stars have been having a lot of fun with the resemblance. Seb even had a mock audition for a Young Luke Skywalker movie. The two gents and their fans have enjoyed the back-and-forth banter, and the latest post from Hamill is pretty much perfect.

Sebastian Stan turned 36 on August 13, and Dad shared this cute message for his son:

Sebastian is apparently in Greece filming a movie, but he took time out to thank his fans — and maybe his Hollywood Dad — for their birthday notes:

We’re looking forward to seeing more of Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes in “Avengers 4,” which opens next May. And it was confirmed that Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker will be back for “Star Wars: Episode IX,” which opens December 2019.

  • ‘Mean Tweets: Avengers Edition’ Forces ‘Infinity War’ Stars to Face Their Critics

Yet another installment of Jimmy Kimmel’s “Mean Tweets” series has arrived, this time in honor of the release of “Avengers: Infinity War.” And just like every other edition of the long-running viral hit, the stars featured here have some pretty fabulous reactions to the harsh barbs tossed their way by disgruntled social media users.

Despite “Infinity War” scoring some insane box office numbers on its opening weekend — including the biggest first weekend ever, both domestically and worldwide — and continuing its dominance into its second week, there are still some people out there who don’t really care for our Marvel heroes. And boy, do they have zero problems airing their very pointed, oddly specific grievances on Twitter.

Scarlett Johansson, for instance, is compared to celery, while Sebastian Stan apparently looks like a potato. In non-food-related insults, people take cracks at “Black Panther” star Winston Duke’s legs and Elizabeth Olsen’s thumbs, and someone out there really, really has a passionate dislike for “Guardians of the Galaxy” star Dave Bautista.

But to be fair, the Samuel L. Jackson insult featured in the above photo is weirdly kind of accurate. So at least that’s a small win for Twitter trolls everywhere. (They really lose us, however, at the dig at Paul Rudd. Don’t you dare mess with our Crap Bag.)

  • ‘I, Tonya’ Trailer Transforms Margot Robbie Into the Controversial Figure Skater

Margot Robbie is going for gold in the first full-length, red-band “I, Tonya” trailer.

The movie follows figure skater Tonya Harding (Robbie) during her hard-fought rise to the top of her sport, before her equally hard fall for her involvement in the attack against rival Nancy Kerrigan ahead of the 1994 Winter Olympics.

“America, they want someone to love but they want someone to hate,” Robbie’s Tonya Harding says bitterly.

The trailer provides a glimpse at the darkly funny, biting, sharp-as-a-ice skate tone of the film. The movie highlights Harding’s tumultuous relationships with her chain-smoking, tough-as-nails, acid-tongued mother (Allison Janney) and hotheaded ex-husband Jeff Gillooly (Sebastian Stan).

Robbie looks almost unrecognizable, blending into the role seamlessly, and her skating looks impressively good. Both she and Janney should be in the mix this awards season.

“I, Tonya” opens in theaters December 8.
