  • Kat Dennings and Randall Park’s MCU Characters Join Disney+’s ‘WandaVision’

Kat Dennings and Randall Park’s MCU Characters Join Disney+’s ‘WandaVision’

    Marvel/Disney

WandaVision,” the Disney+ series about (who else?) MCU characters Wanda and Vision, just revealed more of its cast, all of whom have a way with one-liners.

Joining Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) are wisecracking Darcy (Kat Dennings) from the “Thor” movies and perpetually flustered FBI agent Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) from “Ant-Man and The Wasp.”

Joining the MCU for the first time is Emmy-nominated star Kathryn Hahn of ‘Transparent,” “Bad Moms” and “Private Life” fame.

“WandaVision” will show “what an ideal life with vision looks like.”  It’s being billed as “half sitcom, half epic MCU adventure.”

So, superheroes + nosy, chatty neighbors?

Marvel previously announced that “WandaVision” will be “unlike anything we’ve done before.” Olsen added, “It’s gonna get weird.”

  • ‘Always Be My Maybe’ Trailer: Ali Wong, Randall Park Pair Up in Netflix Rom-Com

‘Always Be My Maybe’ Trailer: Ali Wong, Randall Park Pair Up in Netflix Rom-Com

    Netflix

Time can’t erase a feeling this strong between Ali Wong and Randall Park in the trailer for “Always Be My Maybe.”

Netflix continues to cement its status as the provider of great romantic comedies, after the near-death of the genre, thanks to hits like “Set It Up” and “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.”

“Always Be My Maybe” stars Wong and Park as childhood friends/sweethearts who’ve fallen out of touch. When Wong’s celebrity chef returns to San Francisco to open a new restaurant, she and Park reconnect. There’s always been something between them, but life is complicated. Can these two crazy kids ever make it work?

The movie looks charming as hell, thanks to the chemistry between the leads. Wong’s brand of potty-mouthed comedy is never not funny and Keanu Reeves’ introduction at the end of the trailer is outright hilarious.

“Always Be My Maybe” premieres May 31 on Netflix.

With the 2019 Oscars currently without a host, plenty of people have ideas about who should take the job.

Constance Wu recently joined those throwing out ideas. When Variety recently asked her about if she wanted to see her “Crazy Rich Asians” co-star Ken Jeong host, she said he’d be great but then proposed another actor she’s worked closely with.

“I got another pitch though — my co-star in ‘Fresh Off the Boat,’ Randall Park,” Wu said.

She gave Park a ringing endorsement. Not only did she describe him as “the best,” she compared him to comedian Steve Martin.

“He’s effortlessly funny the way that Steve Martin is,” Wu said. “He’s really likable and he’s so handsome.”

Wu and Park have starred together on “Fresh Off the Boat” since it premiered in 2015. They play Louis and Jessica Huang, a married couple based loosely on real-life chef Eddie Huang’s parents. They’ve both earned praise in their respective roles, including being nominated for multiple Critics’ Choice Awards each.

In spite of Wu’s support for Park, this year’s Academy Awards will probably remain hostless, according to Variety. The show was previously to be hosted by Kevin Hart, but the comedian stepped down in December after numerous old homophobic tweets resurfaced.

The 91st Academy Awards will air Sunday, Feb. 24 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on ABC.

  • ‘Fresh Off the Boat’ Star Randall Park Joins ‘Aquaman’

Randall ParkAdding a whole new character in reshoots? Why not? Fresh Off the Boat,” has joined DCEU’s “Aquaman” as new character Dr. Steven Shin.

Director James Wan shared the news via Twitter yesterday.

According to the “Aquaman” Wiki, Shin “helped a young Aquaman develop his powers, but would later grow obsessed with finding out where the lost city of Atlantis was located.”

The WB superhero movie, which stars Jason Momoa as the title character, is set for a December 21, 2018 release date. That’s after being bumped from July 27 and then to October 5, 2018.

Wan revealed that filming underwater (or pretending to film underwater) has been tough: “It’s a very technically challenging shoot to be on,” he told THR in August 2017. “Working with water, and even the dry-for-wet sequences are very complex.”

He addressed the rumors about the film’s delay last month, saying he was still tweaking the film,” I am simply not ready yet to share. This movie is filled to the gills with VFX, and the process is as slow and laborious as a sea-slug! Yes, even shots for the trailers take forever to do, and I refuse to put out anything that might be construed as sub-par.” He added that he and his cast and crew were “working non-stop below the waves.”

Park is also appearing in “Ant-Man and the Wasp” (from rival Marvel) as Jimmy Woo. That’s out July 6.

  • ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp’ Casts Randall Park as Jimmy Woo

ENTERTAINMENT-US-CINEMA-SNATCHEDThere are dozens of things happening at once in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but one film we’re definitely excited for is “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” opening almost exactly one year from now.

Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Peña, David Dastmalchian, and Michael Douglas are returning to their “Ant-Man” roles, and it has now been confirmed that “Fresh Off the Boat” and “Veep” star Randall Park will be joining them, in the role of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Jimmy Woo.

Tracking Board first shared the news, adding that another new character — played by Hannah John-Kamen — still remains a mystery.

The plot is still a mystery too, but we know it’ll feature Paul Rudd’s title character, aka Scott Lang, with Evangeline Lilly stepping up to share top billing as the Wasp, aka Hope van Dyne. Lilly is also confirmed to be returning for “Avengers 4.”

Back in February, Michael Douglas confirmed his return as Dr. Hank Pym, and also revealed that filming would start in July 2017 (aka right around now) for the July 2018 release date.

Peyton Reed directed 2015’s “Ant-Man” and he’s also returning for the sequel, which is scheduled to open July 6, 2018.

Speaking of Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang/Ant-Man, he’s still busy filming “Avengers: Infinity War,” which opens May 4, 2018, two months before “Ant-Man and the Wasp”:

  • Best of Late Night TV: Steven Yeun’s Nude Steam and Charles Barkley’s Golf Game

If you’re like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. Here’s the best of what happened last night on late night.

Kicking things off (more like putting things off) is Jimmy Fallon, who played a round of Golf around “The Tonight Show” stage with Hugh Grant and Charles Barkley. It was basically incredible.

David Spade stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and among his list of conversation topics was Kanye West. More specifically, his post-Grammy meltdown in which he shaded Beck. “I wanna like Kayne, it’s virtually impossible,” Spade said.

Randall Park visited “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to talk about “The Interview” and what it was like playing
Kim Jong-Un –– more specifically what it was like to walk around with that questionable hair cut for days on end.

We saved the best for last! “The waking Dead’s” Steven Yeun hit up “Conan” and went to a nude spa for some relaxation, and it was the most incredible moment in late night history. We won’t give you any spoilers, just watch.
