  • Hannibal Buress Sent an Imposter to the ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Premiere, and People Loved It

Paramount Pictures' World Premiere of 'Baywatch'Sometimes, you’re just so busy you have to send a look-alike to events in your place.

Well, you do if you’re Hannibal Buress. The “Spider-Man: Homecoming” actor missed the film’s premiere in Hollywood on Wednesday night, but thanks to the powers of the internet, he was able to find a look-alike to send in his place. After offering up $500 for the gig on Twitter, Buress connected with Joe Carroll, a Nashville man who was ready to impersonate the comedian on the red carpet.

The two shared photos of the stunt on social media, and naturally, people thought it was hilarious. Buress played up the joke, tweeting a picture of Carroll and writing, “I’m out here at the premiere. In theaters July 8th.”

Carroll posted a photo on Instagram that evening, explaining that when Buress “hits you up and tells you to crash the red carpet since he couldn’t make it…. You crash the damn red carpet.”

Better still was footage of Carroll successfully pulling off his Buress impression, talking about playing Coach Wilson while being interviewed at the event.

The people of Twitter loved it, as they quickly made very clear.

It looks like Buress may have drawn more attention to the movie with his absence than he would have with his presence. Impressive, right?

  • Watch Spider-Man Scare Starbucks Customers With Hilarious Coffee Prank

A New York City Starbucks recently gave customers a bigger jolt than caffeine alone can provide: a surprise visit from a superhero.

The coffee shop shocked its patrons by having Spider-Man drop in — quite literally — on them while they waited for their drinks. Thanks to a video posted Tuesday by Sony Pictures Entertainment to promote “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” we get to see their hysterical reactions. Clearly, no one expected their beverage to come with a side of superhero.

To pull off the prank, the team behind it set it up so that the Marvel hero could come down from the ceiling when his order was called, shocking the unsuspecting people waiting below. It worked just as they planned it: People jumped, they screamed, and they laughed. Best of all, from what we can tell, no one spilled hot coffee.

Throughout the video, Spider-Man keeps his mask on, so it seems safe to assume that he wasn’t the actual star of “Homecoming,” Tom Holland. Whoever was in the suit, though, pulled off some impressive acrobatics.

    “Spider-Man: Homecoming” opens July 7.

  • Watch Chris Pratt Make the Weirdest Prank Call on BBC Radio 1

US-ENTERTAINMENT-PREMIERE-PASSENGERSChris Pratt is a superhero when it comes to thinking on his feet.

The actor was out promoting Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” when he was given a strange task on BBC Radio 1’s “The Matt Edmondson Show.” The host roped him in to making an AlphabetiCall, a prank phone call in which every sentence has to start with a different letter of the alphabet, in alphabetical order. Even more specifically, Pratt had to call a pet shop and ask them about stick insects given their similarities to Baby Groot, Vin Diesel‘s “Guardians” character.

The task might not sound that exciting, but Pratt’s call turned out pretty great. He sounded a little robotic and a little bit pained, but he also managed to make sense in a very strange sort of way. It helped that he spoke with possibly the nicest person ever — the woman never seemed to get suspicious or angry, and she stuck it out from A to Z.

Pratt appears next in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” out on May 5.
