    Summer 2022 is halfway over and coming out of the pandemic there were some huge movies at the box office this year.

    Thanks to movies like ‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ ‘Elvis,’ and ‘Jurassic World Dominion,’ audiences were treated a solid slate worthy of keeping their butts in air-conditioned theaters while munching on overpriced (but so damn delicious) concessions.

    In honor of our favorite movie season winding down, we ranked the 10 best summer blockbusters of all-time. From ‘Independence Day‘ to Star Wars,” we got all your popcorn entertainment needs covered.

    Men in Black‘ (1997)

    After a police chase with an otherworldly being, a New York City cop is recruited as an agent in a top-secret organization established to monitor and police alien activity on Earth: the Men in Black. Agent Kay (Tommy Lee Jones) and new recruit Agent Jay (Will Smith) find themselves in the middle of a deadly plot by an intergalactic terrorist who has arrived on Earth to assassinate two ambassadors from opposing galaxies.

    Ghostbusters‘ (1984)

    After losing their academic posts at a prestigious university, a team of parapsychologists (Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis) goes into business as proton-pack-toting “ghostbusters” who exterminate ghouls, hobgoblins and supernatural pests of all stripes. An ad campaign pays off when a knockout cellist (Sigourney Weaver) hires the squad to purge her swanky digs of demons that appear to be living in her refrigerator.

    E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial‘ (1982)

    After a gentle alien becomes stranded on Earth, the being is discovered and befriended by a young boy named Elliott (Henry Thomas). Bringing the extraterrestrial into his suburban California house, Elliott introduces E.T., as the alien is dubbed, to his brother and his little sister, Gertie(Drew Barrymore), and the children decide to keep its existence a secret. Soon, however, E.T. falls ill, resulting in government intervention and a dire situation for both Elliott and the alien.

    Independence Day‘ (1996)

    On July 2, a giant alien mothership enters orbit around Earth and deploys several dozen saucer-shaped ‘destroyer’ spacecraft that quickly lay waste to major cities around the planet. On July 3, the United States conducts a coordinated counterattack that fails. On July 4, a plan is devised to gain access to the interior of the alien mothership in space, in order to plant a nuclear missile. The movie stars Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum, and Bill Pullman.

    Jurassic Park‘ (1993)

    A wealthy entrepreneur (Richard Attenborough) secretly creates a theme park featuring living dinosaurs drawn from prehistoric DNA. Before opening day, he invites a team of experts (Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum) and his two eager grandchildren (Joseph Mazzello and Ariana Richards) to experience the park and help calm anxious investors. However, the park is anything but amusing as the security systems go off-line and the dinosaurs escape.

    In March, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows” stars Megan Fox and Stephen Amell popped by Moviefone’s exclusive photo booth during their visit to WonderCon 2016, where they were promoting the follow-up to the 2014 hit “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” and we got some smokin’ hot photos as a result. Fox went semi-casual (hey, WonderCon is a casual kinda event), sporting a dark blazer and knee-torn jeans, while Amell opted for the full-blown T-shirt/jeans/backwards cap weekend look. Of course, they both knocked it out of the park.
