“Chucky is a toy,” someone says in the first full trailer for the new “Child’s Play” reboot.

But what if a toy had all the tech access of Alexa and an evil spirit residing in it? That’s Chucky! The demonic doll gets a major upgrade in the reboot, able to control cars, drones, and smart (now scary) homes.

Aubrey Plaza plays a young mom who gives her son Andy (Gabriel Bateman) a Buddi, a hot new toy capable of Alexa-ing your gadgets. Andy soon realizes that his version, called Chucky (voiced by Mark Hamill), has a sinister nature — and it out to wreak death and destruction.

“We didn’t want to do something that felt too familiar [to] the Chucky that was so successful in the original series,” producer Seth Grahame-Smith told Entertainment Weekly.

“We knew we wanted to reintroduce a new design because we’re also reintroducing a new concept for what Chucky really is. That led us to, okay, if a company like Apple or Google or Amazon was going to design and market a child companion toy, what would that toy look like? What would its features be? And that drove the design more than anything.”

“Child’s Play” opens in theaters June 21.

Here’s Chucky, in all his evil glory!

The reboot of “Child’s Play” has unveiled the first full image of the demonic doll.

A teaser trailer gave us a taste of the havoc that this Chucky will wreak, and we can expect a full trailer this week.

The 1988 horror classic gets a modern update, with an interactive tech/robotics company introducing a new, advanced doll called “Buddi.”

Aubrey Plaza plays a young mom who gives her kid a Buddi, not realizing just how dangerous this toy will turn out to be. Nor that the doll’s name really might be Chucky and death and destruction will follow in his wake.

“Star Wars” icon Mark Hamill voices Chucky.

“Child’s Play” opens in theaters June 21.

Mark Hamill is taking on another iconic character — the demonic doll Chucky. The “Star Wars” Jedi will voice Chucky in the reboot of “Child’s Play.”

“I can’t wait to bring such an iconic character to life, and present him in a way you’ve never seen him before,” Hamill said in a statement.

Hamill joins cast members Aubrey Plaza, Brian Tyree Henry, and Gabriel Bateman in an update of the 1988 horror classic.

The story for the new version is similar: Karen, a single mom who gifts her son Andy a toy doll, not realizing it possesses the soul of a serial killer. But in a modernized twist, the new, advanced doll contains advanced robotics, making it almost like a Chucky with Terminator abilities.

Hamill is an accomplished voice actor in film, television, and video games, including as the Joker across all three platforms.

“Child’s Play”  opens in theaters June 21.

  • Mark Hamill Compares ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ Spoiler Precautions to the CIA

Mark Hamill Compares ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ Spoiler Precautions to the CIA

    Lucasfilm

A lot has changed since Mark Hamill starred in the first “Star Wars” movie in 1977 and now. For one, spoilers are a pretty big deal.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly about his History drama series “Knightfall,” Hamill teased a future, high-profile project that he can’t announce yet. And that led him to describe the security measures that writer/director J.J. Abrams has employed for “Episode IX.”

“You know how it is these days, every time you sign NDAs. I remember back when I read the first ‘Star Wars’ [script], I was like, ‘Wow, that’s the goofiest thing I’ve ever read.’ I gave it to my best friend to read, and I said, ‘What do you think of it?’ He said, ‘It’s really wild, it’s crazy, can I give it to Meredith?’ ‘Sure, go ahead.’ It went around to all my friends,” Hamill reflected.

“Of course back then nobody cared. Nowadays it’s like working for some secret deep state government organization, like being in the CIA. They’re going to send rewrites over to Prague on this dark red paper that gives you a headache to read.”

Abrams used that dark red paper for scripts while filming “The Force Awakens.” The darkness of the paper makes it nearly impossible to photocopy. However, the director has upped the security even more when it comes to “Episode IX” scripts.

“They’re going to fly [the rewrites] over with somebody from the company,” Hamill noted. “They’re going to come and give it to me and wait for me to read it before I give it back. So no pressure! You can’t even keep it overnight. But that’s the way it is now.”

After the events of “The Last Jedi,” fans are undoubtedly very curious about the role Hamill will play in “Episode IX.” Will he appear as a Force Ghost? In a flashback? Well, if Abrams and team have their way, they won’t find out until the movie hits theaters next December.

Mark Hamill Had the Cutest Birthday Message for ‘Son’ Sebastian Stan

This is the most Dad move ever.

Sebastian Stan looks a lot like young Mark Hamill, and the two Marvel/Lucasfilm stars have been having a lot of fun with the resemblance. Seb even had a mock audition for a Young Luke Skywalker movie. The two gents and their fans have enjoyed the back-and-forth banter, and the latest post from Hamill is pretty much perfect.

Sebastian Stan turned 36 on August 13, and Dad shared this cute message for his son:

Sebastian is apparently in Greece filming a movie, but he took time out to thank his fans — and maybe his Hollywood Dad — for their birthday notes:

We’re looking forward to seeing more of Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes in “Avengers 4,” which opens next May. And it was confirmed that Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker will be back for “Star Wars: Episode IX,” which opens December 2019.

  • Mark Hamill Joins History Series ‘Knightfall’ for Season 2

Mark Hamill Joins History Series ‘Knightfall’ for Season 2

    Lucasfilm

Mark Hamill is trading one knighthood for another: The “Star Wars” star will return to the small screen for a role on History series “Knightfall.”

The cable outlet announced on Monday that it was renewing the medieval drama for a second season, and bringing on a huge new star in Hamill. Film fans have known the actor for years as Luke Skywalker, one of the founding members of the “Star Wars” saga, and it seems that this new role is taking some heavy influence from the familiar Jedi master.

“Knightfall” focuses on the Knights Templar, the mysterious military order entrusted with protecting Christian relics in the Middle Ages. Much like his role in the most recent “Star Wars” outing, “The Last Jedi,” Hamill will be playing a respected leader who’s been absent for some time, and is now imparting his wisdom on a new generation.

Here’s the official character description, per Deadline:

Hamill will play Talus, a battle-hardened Knight Templar veteran of the Crusades, who survived captivity for ten years in the Holy Land and is tasked with training the new initiates to the Order.

The actor’s casting will signal “a grittier, darker ‘Knightfall’ in season two,” according to Eli Lehrer, the executive vice president of programming for History. So maybe those “Star Wars” fans who didn’t like Luke’s storyline in “The Last Jedi” will be happier with Hamill’s arc here.

No word yet on when “Knightfall” season two will premiere.

  • Mark Hamill Posts ‘Bittersweet’ Tribute to Ending Skywalker Saga With, and Without, Carrie Fisher

Mark Hamill Posts ‘Bittersweet’ Tribute to Ending Skywalker Saga With, and Without, Carrie Fisher

Star Wars, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher
    Lucasfilm

It’s beautiful, but “bittersweet,” for Luke and Leia to still be together at the end of the “Star Wars” Skywalkers Saga.

Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher started this journey together in “Star Wars: Episode IV” in 1977, and it was announced on Friday that they will both be together in the upcoming “Star Wars: Episode IX” in 2019.

Carrie Fisher’s death in December 2016 shocked the world, but she had already filmed her scenes for Episode VIII, “The Last Jedi.” It was thought that she wouldn’t be able to be in Episode IX, but then Lucasfilm announced that Leia Organa would still be played by Carrie Fisher using previously unreleased footage from J.J. Abrams’ “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Mark Hamill reacted to the news about his on-screen twin’s inclusion, and the fandom’s reaction:

Here’s what J.J. Abrams said in the announcement about Carrie Fisher’s inclusion in Episode IX:

“We desperately loved Carrie Fisher. Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We were never going to recast, or use a CG character. With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we shot together in Episode VII.”

Mark Hamill also reacted to his Luke Skywalker returning for the end of the Saga, even after the events of “The Last Jedi”:

“Star Wars: Episode IX” opens in theaters December 20, 2019.

  • Mark Hamill, Kathy Bates Join ‘Big Bang Theory’ Wedding Guest List

As Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) prepare to walk down the aisle on the upcoming season 11 finale of “The Big Bang Theory,” several big names are RSVP-ing to join the episode’s already star-studded guest list.

The most famous folks who’ve just signed on for guest appearances are Mark Hamill (the titular hero of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi“) and Kathy Bates (who’s worked with “Big Bang” creator Chuck Lorre on “Two and a Half Men” and “Disjointed”). The stars’ roles are remaining undisclosed for now.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, it’s unclear if Hamill will play himself, but considering how big of a “Star Wars” fan Sheldon is, it would be hard to pass off Luke Skywalker as anyone else. Then again, he could be portraying a lookalike, with a winking reference to the actor’s “Star Wars” connection. Fans will have to wait and see.

In other casting news, the wedding episode will feature several other “TBBT” newcomers, including comedian Lauren Lapkus and magician Teller (one half of duo Penn & Teller), whose roles have not been revealed yet. And Jerry O’Connell was recently cast as Sheldon’s older brother, Georgie.

Here’s the rest of the guest list, per THR, full of returning favorites: John Ross Bowie (as frenemy Barry Kripke); Courtney Henggeler (Sheldon’s sister, Missy); previously announced Laurie Metcalf (Sheldon’s mom, Mary); Brian Posehn (Bert); and Wil Wheaton (himself).

Fans are invited to watch the nuptials unfold when “The Big Bang Theory” season finale airs on May 10 on CBS.

  • Mark Hamill May Appear in ‘Guardians Vol. 3,’ Thanks to a Fan Tweet

WARNING: This post contains SPOILERS about the plot of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” Read on at your own risk.

Apparently Twitter is the new business lunch: Mark Hamill may have just booked himself a gig in the next installment of the “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise, thanks to a social media exchange with director James Gunn.

The serendipitous online meeting was actually orchestrated by a fan, who sent a tweet imploring Gunn to cast Hamill in “Guardians Vol. 3.” In response, Gunn noted that Hamill was actually his neighbor, and he invited the actor to “come over and we can talk about it over a cup of coffee.”

Hamill — who always seems to be online — jumped at the chance, noting he’s currently an “unemployed actor,” thanks to his character, Luke Skywalker, getting killed off in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” We don’t think Gunn is going to suddenly resurrect Luke for “Guardians 3,” but Hamill would obviously be a natural fit to play a wise mentor who helps guide the Guardians on their next quest.

We’ll have to see if Hamill makes it into the movie before we get our hopes up, but all signs point to this being an awesome collaboration. First, though, he and Gunn need to figure out how to slide into each other’s DMs.

    Stay tuned.
