  • Keanu Reeves: A Playful, Lively and Fun Interview

Keanu Reeves: A Playful, Lively and Fun Interview

The first time I finally got to interview Keanu Reeves was last year for the hit film “John Wick.” Going in, I had high expectations after hearing about how he rarely does sit-down interviews. It was a solid interview, but I wouldn’t rank it among my best.

But talking with Keanu for his thriller “Knock Knock” was a completely different story!

Before my interview, he actually came out to the hallway and asked me if he could be excused to use the restroom. I jokingly said, “No!” to which he responded, in a playful manner, “Please?” A few minutes later, as we sat down across from each other to start our interview, he mentioned he’s currently in jiu-jitsu and martial arts training for an upcoming unnamed film (“John Wick 2,” perhaps?). For the remainder of our interview, Keanu was so playful, lively and most of all–fun!

Following the interview, I asked for a photo of us together for social media. His publicist declined, but after I had walked out of the door I heard him say out loud, “Why don’t you want me to take any pictures?” with an underlying tone of genuine confusion. Then, this happened …

I now truly believe that Keanu Reeves is one of the nicest guys in Hollywood!

I also have to say, despite the 51-year-old being in an older generation, I’m shocked at how great his fan base is on social media! The actor doesn’t have his own accounts, but after tweeting about him I’ve gotten a lot of feedback from his fans who are all so nice! Thanks, Keanu fans!

  • Best of Late Night TV: Keanu Reeves’s Hilarious ‘A Reasonable Speed’ Trailer, Kate Winslet’s ‘Photo Booth’

If you’re like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. Here’s the best of what happened last night on late night.

Jimmy Kimmel shot a trailer for their own slow and safe-moving movie, “A Reasonable Speed” — “the first movie ever produced by the California Highway Patrol” — with Jimmy and his fabulous fake hair driving carefully ahead of Keanu in a “low speed chase.” It’s fantastic, especially when Keanu shouts, “Slow down!” to a passing skateboarder and panics over approaching a speed bump. Clearly we would go see this movie, Hollywood, so make it.
Keanu also talked about not being in “Speed 2,” (he wasn’t into the cruise ship thing) and his “Knock Knock” sex scene with the wife of the director, Eli Roth. Not that it’s relevant, but how is it possible that he’s 51?

“Steve Jobs” star Kate Winslet played a little bit of “Photo Booth” with Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show.” They took crazy photos of themselves with the Photo Booth iPad add, then tried to match each other. Outside of her game segment, she talked about going after an EGOT and said she secured her “Steve Jobs” role with a selfie.

“The Walking Dead” star Norman Reedus told Fallon how he was discovered. First he was fired, then he got into a fight, then he went to a party and drank too much and started yelling at people. Somehow, based on that, he was invited to be in a play. He was supposed to be the understudy, but he ended up performing on the first night because the other dude didn’t show up. A lady in the audience sent him out for some roles and he kept booking gigs. Now he’s Daryl Dixon in TWD and he has a stunt planned for the Season 6 premiere at Madison Square Garden. He also said he created an app that curses you out.

Joel McHale and Seth Meyers both love video games and Joel said he’s so excited about “Halo 5” that he might abandon his kids for it.
“Conan” wants us to forget about “Steve Jobs” and get ready for “Michael Dell,” to review the not-quite-as-interesting or impressive story of the Dell computers. Once again, we’d watch this movie. The bar is low.
Gina Rodriguez and Stephen Colbert had a nice little talk about positive motivation and their shared love of boxing. Stephen wants to join her cult.
And, last but definitely not least, here are Sharon Osbourne, Elyes Gabel, Jamie Lee Curtis and James Corden getting very touchy feely — literally sitting on top of each other for the whole talk. Poor Jamie did not look that comfortable.

  • Fox Cancels Ryan Seacrest’s ‘Knock Knock Live’ After 2 Episodes

knock knock live, ryan seacrestFox spent a lot of time and money touting its new reality series, “Knock Knock Live.” Unfortunately for the network, no one was very keen on answering — or watching.

According to Variety, Fox has pulled the show from its schedule after airing only two episodes, following dismal ratings for the Ryan Seacrest-hosted series. “Knock Knock” featured Seacrest and other celebrities — including Justin Bieber — knocking on strangers’ doors and offering them prizes, but viewers just didn’t take the bait.

Variety reports that the show’s premiere episode on July 21 nabbed a paltry 1.7 million viewers, “marking the smallest demo rating for any Big Four series premiere this summer.” That’s gotta hurt. And apparently, despite desperate cross-promotion efforts on other Fox series including “So You Think You Can Dance,” this week’s installment didn’t fare much better, leading Fox to pull the plug, effectively cancelling the show.

The network plans to fill “Knock Knock”‘s Tuesday at 9 p.m. timeslot with a one-hour encore of “The Last Man on Earth” on August 4, and half-hour reruns of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “Last Man” going forward, until the fall schedule picks up.

Seacrest, who also executive produced “Knock Knock,” will pick himself up and return for the final season of “American Idol,” which starts in January.

  • ‘Knock Knock’ Trailer: While the Family’s Away, Keanu Reeves Will Play (VIDEO)

Knock KnockTwo soaking wet, hot, young women show up at your doorstep … it’s every guy’s fantasy, right? In director Eli Roth’s “Knock Knock,” though, that dream turns into a nightmare for Keanu Reeves.

The first teaser trailer for the movie is out, and it doesn’t show much beyond the set-up. Colleen Camp and Sondra Locke play two giggling girls who get caught in the rain and turn to Reeves’s family man for help. His wife and kids are away, and at first, it seems Reeves has lucked into a very sexy encounter. But as the ominous tone of the trailer indicates, something just isn’t right about these women.

“Knock Knock” debuted at the Sundance Film Festival last week, and should hit theaters sometime in 2015.
