  • Jordan Peele: ‘The Bachelorette’ May Inspire ‘Get Out’ Sequel

    At this point, “The Bachelorette.”

Peele was on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last night to promote “Get Out,” and he shared his excitement for ABC’s first black bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay. As he joked to Kimmel:

“This whole movie of mine is about a black guy going into an environment where there’s a lot of white people and basically getting scared. So I feel like ‘The Bachelorette’ season is going to be inspiration for ‘Get Out 2.’ You know it’s not going to be populated with a bunch of brothers. There’s still two brothers, and there’s gonna be, like, 20 white dudes and they’re all going to be saying things like, ‘Hey, you know I love Beyonce.’”

Kimmel loved that, but had a “serious” question for Peele: If there are 30 bachelors cast for Rachel, what is the “appropriate” number of African-American bachelors? Peele said it was a good question, and answered, “The representation should be equal to the representation in this country.” Kimmel replied, “So there should be three?” Peele just laughed. “Yeah, I guess that’s what I’m saying. But the next bachelor gotta be black. The next bachelor gotta be a brother!”

The audience was ready for it, although Peele was not suggesting himself. He’s already married to “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star Chelsea Peretti and they are currently expecting their first child.

    Watch the discussion:

“The Bachelor” is still airing its final episodes, then Rachel will begin filming her “journey” and we’ll see it play out after “Dancing With the Stars” finishes up, with “The Bachelorette” Season 13 scheduled to premiere Monday, May 22 on ABC.

Hopefully ABC does not just cast a bunch of guys who tell Rachel they like Beyonce, but we wouldn’t be shocked. Bachelor Nation is always a cringe-fest and this season has potential to be as awkward as Nick Viall in Rachel’s church.

  • Watch the Cast of ‘Get Out’ Play ‘Stay in or Get Out?’

Writer-director Black Mirror”) who goes with his girlfriend (Allison Williams of “Girls”) to spend the weekend at her family home and meet her parents (Bradley Whitford and Catherine Keener). Once he gets there, though, he realizes that all is not what it seems … So, yes, it’s seriously scary.

But this being Jordan Peele, one of the most engaging comedic voices to emerge in recent years, it’s also incredibly funny, slyly satiric, and confrontationally political (something that we desperately need right now). So when we met with Peele and the rest of the cast of “Get Out,” we decided to have a little fun. And thus, “Stay in or Get Out?” the game show you never knew you needed (but were always pretty sure you wanted) was born.

“Get Out” is everywhere this Friday.

  • Keanu Reeves Will Voice the Titular Kitten in ‘Keanu’

In a lovely bit of moviemaking synergy, actor Keanu Reeves will voice the titular kitten in the upcoming action comedy “Keanu,” starring “Key and Peele” alums Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele.

The flick’s director, Peter Atencio, spoke with The Los Angeles Times about how filmmakers were able to secure a Reeves appearance in the movie, despite an initial roadblock. Kitten Keanu was indeed named in honor of the actor, and according to Atencio, Key and Peele were eager to get their real-life inspiration involved in some way. Unfortunately, when they reached out to Reeves’s reps, they were turned down.

But then the hilarious first trailer dropped earlier this year, and everything changed.

” … [A]pparently, his sister showed him the trailer and said, ‘Hey, you gotta see this. You’re gonna love this!,’” the director told the Times. “He flipped out and got in touch with us directly to say ‘If there’s anything I can do, let’s make this work.’”

“Keanu” was close to completion at that point, but Atencio said that the creative team wanted to flesh out a scene where Peele’s character is on a drug trip, and hallucinating his kitten talking to him. Enter the perfect scene for Reeves to make his mark.

We can’t think of a more perfect way for the actor to get involved with his namesake, and can’t wait to hear him in action as the adorable kitten. Check out the rest of Atencio’s interview here for some more behind-the-scenes intel about Reeves’s involvement, and see “Keanu” when it hits theaters on April 29.
