While there is no official plotline out there yet, the second season ended with Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) heading off with her Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen) to rescue roommate and friend Enid (Emma Myers) from being trapped as an alpha werewolf.

When will ‘Wednesday’ Season 3 hit Netflix?

You’d need Wednesday’s psychic abilities to guess that at this point, but we can presume that it’ll either hit later this year or (more likely) early in 2027.

Jenna Ortega (‘Scream’)’s titular troublemaker has to recover from the events of the climactic first part before digging into yet another new mystery.

The show also features Emma Myers (‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’), Joy Sunday (‘Dear White People’) and, upgraded to regulars this year, fellow Addams family members Catherine Zeta-Jones (‘Chicago’), Luis Guzmán (‘Punch-Drunk Love’) and Isaac Ordonez (‘A Wrinkle in Time’).

The first part of ‘Wednesday’s second season left things on a cliffhanger with our heroine injured after her latest encounter with rampant “Hyde” creature Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan). It had a lot to live up to, and while the new batch of episodes certainly have their high points, there is a big issue at its heart.

    Script and Direction

(L to R) Lady Gaga as Rosaline Rotwood, Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams in episode 206 of 'Wednesday'. Photo: Netflix© 2025.

While the producers, including showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar could be forgiven for sticking to what they know, the endless use of the Hyde creature is a problem as things get repetitive. Also, the first few episodes feel like the tail end of Part One, before a new story randomly takes over, and the two plots fit somewhat uneasily.

The show remains as stylish and fun as ever, but the Hyde creatures are a weak spot –– some effects are decent, others are so cartoony as to truly stand out like a sore thumb.

    Cast and Performances

Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams in episode 206 of 'Wednesday'. Photo: Bernard Walsh/Netflix © 2025.
Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams in episode 206 of ‘Wednesday’. Photo: Bernard Walsh/Netflix © 2025.

As expected, Jenna Ortega remains the MVP of the show, her deadpan delivery as on point as always.

But she shares the spotlight with Emma Myers, who shines in particular when she’s swapping bodies with Ortega’s character for a chunk of an episode. The two performers are a delight playing each other, and it’s easily the most fun the season has.

Elsewhere, the Addams clan are used decently, though poor Luis Guzmán still gets the short end of the stick as Gomez. Gwendoline Christie gets to have more fun playing Principal Weems as a spirit guide than she ever truly did in the first season.

And while Lady Gaga’s cameo is fun in the moment, she’s more plot device than character.

    Final Thoughts

Though the second part of the season doesn’t quite live up to the first (those confused storytelling approaches didn’t help), there is still entertainment to be derived from the watching Ortega do her thing.

The producers did at least find a way to weave (most of) the other Addams family members into the story, and the return of Gwendoline Christie’s Weems was a welcome, useful one.

‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Part 2 receives 75 out of 100.

If all the reporting on it and promotion for the show wasn’t enough to convince you, ‘Wednesday’s return for a second season on Netflix proves that it’s a giant sensation from the off, since it sports a tailored introductory sting featuring everyone’s favorite disembodied hand, Thing, interacting with the steamer’s logo.

‘Wednesday’, though, ultimately has a lot more than the sprawling fanbase to live up to –– it must deliver what audiences enjoyed about the first season while expanding the world and finding some new mysteries for our morbid heroine to explore.

On the evidence of the first part of the new season (split, as is the streamer’s custom, into two chunks premiering in this case roughly a month apart), ‘Wednesday’s child is still full of woe –– and mightily entertaining to boot.

    Script and Direction

Returning showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar know what makes ‘Wednesday’ tick: plenty of Ortega’s deadpan delivery, a deadly mystery enveloping her and her classmates, plenty for animated body part Thing to handle and some brightness to balance the dour central figure in the form of Emma Myers’ peppy werewolf roommate Enid.

While the element of surprise is perhaps lacking this time, the focus is instead on easing us back into Nevermore Academy, with this year bringing the added notion of having Wednesday’s family –– that would be Morticia, Gomez, Pugsley and looming, groaning manservant Lurch (Joonas Suotamo) –– around on campus more than she would really prefer.

The mystery is another beguiling one, and several of the new characters fit seamlessly into the story.

Still, while the addition of the extended Addams family does draw a little too much focus, at least the writing team keeps the balance most satisfying, Gomez and Pugsley used sparingly while the fractured dynamic between Morticia and her daughter is pushed to the fore.

Thing in episode 202 of ‘Wednesday’ Season 2. Photo: Courtesy of Netflix © 2025.

On the directing front, Tim Burton is back, splitting episodes with Paco Cabezas, offers the requisite style and quirk we’ve come to expect from Wednesday. While not every effect is, er, effective (the Hyde remains some very plasticky CG work), others are still excellent (Thing in particular).

And a move to Ireland for the new season hasn’t impacted the show’s gothic charms, with an episode set at a nearby camp bringing up memories of Wednesday’s memorable time at summer camp in 1993 movie ‘Addams Family Values’.

    Cast and Performances

With Ortega front and center as always, Wednesday herself remains a wonderful creation, all dark moods, gloomy zingers and a wealth of skills. This is a near-perfect blend of actor and role, and Wednesday’s journey this season allows her to deepen without changing too much.

Emma Myers also remains a delight as Enid, the perky werewolf roommate with the love of rainbow colors and, this year, a burgeoning love life. She balances well with Ortega and the two make a solid double act.

The returning members of the Addams clan (now regular cast members) are more of a mixed bag. Catherine Zeta-Jones is ever slinky and superb as Morticia, here handed her own deeper emotional throughline with different generational issues and a more active role in present-day Nevermore.

Luis Guzmán is similarly good as Gomez, though he has less to do (but does it all well). Isaac Ordonez is less convincing as Pugsley, but does at least have a fun plotline –– which also introduces some truly Burton-tastic animation for its backstory.

Previously unseen is Grandmama Hester Frump, Morticia’s mother, brought to vibrant, emotionally distant life by UK sitcom and acting legend Joanna Lumley. She fits smoothly into the wider ensemble.

Billie Piper as Isadora Capri in episode 205 of ‘Wednesday’ Season 2. Photo: Bernard Walsh/Netflix © 2025.

Of the new recruits, Steve Buscemi makes for an appealing new principal, the goofy Barry Dort, a tireless campaigner for outcasts’ right who also has a hidden agenda, while Billie Piper works well as Isadora Capri, the new music teacher at the school.

There’s a fun, small supporting role for Christopher Lloyd (who played Uncle Fester in the live-action ‘Addams’ movies) and Thandiwe Newton provides mystery and power as the head of a nearby asylum which will become key to the plot in this early chunk of the season.

If it’s tough to follow a hit, ‘Wednesday’s second season so far shows little sign of the strain, bringing back what fans like about the show while layering in new mysteries and some worthwhile fresh faces.

Now it’s up the second batch of episodes to stick the landing…

The presentation for director Joe Carnahan’s new police thriller ‘The Rip’, which stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, began with a pre-recorded video of the two actors as their cop characters arresting ‘Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster for eating too many cookies.

The two Academy Award winners then took the stage along with fellow cast members Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, and Catalina Sandino Moreno.

Affleck had this to say about the movie:

“It’s great to be back together again on screen and we loved making this movie. It channels some of our all-time favorites like ‘Heat’ and ‘Training Day’.

In the film, Affleck and Damon play Miami cops who discover over 20 million dollars in cash hidden in a suspect’s house, which leads to distrust among their characters and the other police officers.

A new trailer for the film was shown to the audience at the Forum and during the broadcast but is not currently available online. Damon introduced the teaser trailer by saying:

“Netflix was not going to let us show you an exclusive first look at the film. In fact, the studio hasn’t even approved its release, so here is the first and I repeat only look at ‘The Rip’ coming to Netflix on January 16th, 2026.”

Next up was visionary director Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ presentation, which began with a video message from actor Jacob Elordi who plays the monster.

“I recently had the great pleasure of playing the creature in Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’. Guillermo is a real-life genius and I’m immensely grateful to be in the film. I’m proud of the work we all put into it.”

Guillermo del Toro himself, as well as actors Oscar Isaac and Mia Goth then took the stage to greet the fans and introduce the teaser trailer for the film.

“Thank you. I’m Guillermo del Toro. This is for me the culmination of a journey that has occupied most of my life. I first read Mary Shelley’s ‘Frankenstein’ as a kid and saw Boris Karloff in what became for me an almost a religious state. Monsters have become my personal belief system. There are strands of Frankenstein throughout my films, ‘Cronos’, ‘Blade’, ‘Hellboy’, big time on ‘Pinocchio’, and a long, long, etc. Exploring the relationship between humanity and monsters, creator and creation, father and son, has consumed my stories again and again. I wanted to make this film even before I had a camera, and I have actively been pursuing it now for 25 years. It has grown so close to me that now it is my biography. Now, tonight here, finally, we can share it with you.”

The highly anticipated ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ was up next, and the presentation began with a mock video including sports broadcasters and athletes like Dan Patrick, Rich Eisen, Bob Costas, Serena Williams, Travis Kelce, and John Cena talking about the legacy of Happy Gilmore as if he was a real person and golfer.

The stage was then set up like a sports broadcast with Rich Eisen interviewing Christopher McDonald, Julie Bowen, and of course, Adam Sandler. Several supporting cast members including Jon Lovitz and an actor dressed as Abraham Lincoln were in the audience and asked clearly scripted questions.

After that, Sandler had this to say before introducing the final trailer for the sequel.

“First of all, Mr. Lincoln, great job on everything. Netflix, thanks for everything. How about today? This was fun. I’m hoping we have a lot of these. Now I have a question for all you nice people out there. Would anyone like to see the trailer for our new film?”

One of the most popular TV series in the history of Netflix is coming to an end with the fifth and final season of ‘Stranger Things’. Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp appeared to discuss the experience of making the series and the upcoming final season.

They watched behind the scenes videos from the making of the first season and were joined by Gaten Matarazzo and Millie Bobby Brown via a prerecorded message.

Brown sad this to the audience:

“Hi TUDUM and ‘Stranger Things’ fans, its Millie Bobby Brown. Unfortunately, I can’t be there with you guys because I am filming ‘Enola Holmes 3’ right now in London. But I have so many memories. How could you possibly choose a favorite from four seasons?”

Truly though I want to thank you for the amazing reception to season one and embracing our world. It really means the most. Here is an exclusive sneak peek at season 2.”

    Preview:

    • Lionsgate brought the likes of ‘Ballerina’ and the new ‘Now You See Me’ to CinemaCon.
    • The likes of Sydney Sweeney and Jenna Ortega were there to showcase their new movies.
    • ‘The Long Walk’ and some fresh ‘John Wick’ news was also shared.

Lionsgate had, let’s be generous here, a pretty dreadful 2024, with movies such as ‘The Crow’ and ‘Borderlands’ seriously underperforming. The company has also been through more financial turmoil, but its presence at CinemaCon points to planting a flag and looking to convince theater chains that it’s in good shape with some exciting movies headed our way.

Among them, the latest ‘John Wick’ spin-off, ‘Ballerina,’ and the first official look at the third ‘Now You See Me’ entry are expected to be the biggest.

    TmJtO5movvVx2ISzod9XB2

It’s telling, though, that the Lionsgate presentation was part of an overall package with a state of the industry talk (featuring confirmation of name change from NATO to Cinema United with bonus Tom Cruise “we love movies” video, and a blend of self-congratulatory updates and concerns about the future of moviegoing as a whole) and fellow distributor Neon showing trailers for some of its own upcoming movies, including Mike Flanagan’s Tom Hiddleston-starring Stephen King adaptation ‘The Life of Chuck’ and Alison Brie/Dave Franco supernatural sci-fi horror ‘Together.’

After more talk about windows than a glazing company conference, it’s on with the Lionsgate show!

To absolutely no-one’s surprise, the presentation kicked off with an extended look at the latest tendril of the ‘John Wick’-verse, ‘Ballerina.

Starring Ana de Armas as a young woman trained in the traditions of the Ruska Roma organization who sets out to seek revenge after her father’s death, the movie has Len Wiseman in the director’s chair, but is also produced by ‘Wick’ franchise overseer Chad Stahelski.

The new glimpse of the movie of course spotlights the considerable set-pieces. Because after all, what’s a ‘Wick’ movie without some good old fashioned fighting?

We also get a look at Gabriel Byrne in the movie, and Anjelica Huston’s director hiring a certain familiar assassin to take out de Armas’ Eve. Yep, as you’ll have seen in the recent trailer, Keanu Reeves’ titular Mr. Wick makes his presence felt alongside franchise veterans Lance Reddick (RIP) and Ian McShane.

    1YxLpoTP

In fact, this is mostly just an extended version of the last public look at the movie with added fisticuffs.

Wiseman and de Armas took the stage to talk up the new movie. De Armas spotlighted how she appreciated the discipline of ballet, which carried over into the stunts, which were the most physically demanding work she had to for a movie.

Lionsgate seems to be very confident in this one, claiming that they’ll be screening it to exhibition partners earlier than originally planned.

‘Ballerina’ hits theaters on June 6th.

The Stephen King adaptation, directed by ‘Hunger Games’ veteran Francis Lawrence, is a dystopian tale featuring a group of teenage boys competing in an annual contest known as “The Long Walk,” where they must maintain a certain walking speed or get shot.

Lawrence was joined by ‘Alien: RomulusDavid Jonsson and Mark Hamill (from some famous genre movies and TV) on stage to talk up the latest King joint.

According to the director, this is his favorite King tome. Jonsson, meanwhile, mentions that the actors walked for miles each day while shooting. At least it was a good workout!

Hamill, a CinemaCon newbie, plays the movie’s antagonist, so the cast apparently didn’t want to hang out with him until production was wrapped.

He says he’s wanted to work with Lawrence for a while and “there is nothing for me in ‘Hunger Games.’” ‘The Long Walk,’ he says, hit him like a ton of bricks but he appreciated getting pushed out of his comfort zone.

The trailer was shown, and we know that ‘The Long Walk’ will march into cinemas on September 12th.

Lawrence remained on stage, because next up was…

The Hunger Games: Sunshine on the Reaping

The latest ‘Hunger Games’ outing, once more directed by Lawrence, is the next prequel story, focused on a young Haymitch (as played by Woody Harrelson in the original trilogy).

Lawrence told the crowd that they’re casting now for a planned July shoot, and the director calls the color palette a “return to form” and that the new film takes place later in time than the last movie.

And again, it was his favorite book –– this time by ‘Games’ author Suzanne Collins.

‘The Hunger Games: Sunshine on the Reaping’ will be out on November 20th, 2026.

In between the bigger presentations was a video featuring other filmmakers talking up projects and more –– ‘A Simple Favor’s Paul Feig revealed he’d signed a first-look deal with the studios, while Luca Guadagnino appeared to hype his ‘American Psycho’ adaptation, which will go back to the book and features Scott Z. Burns writing. He’s casting it right now.

    The ‘Wick’-verse continues to expand

While ‘Ballerina’ continues the story, a new animated prequel to the original ‘Wick’ flick sets the clock back to before the story. Shannon Tindle of ‘Ultraman: Rising’ will direct.

But you were thinking Keanu Reeves’ character himself wouldn’t be back, think again –– Lionsgate has the actor and Stahelski developing a fifth main outing.

And the spin-off, directed by and starring Donnie Yen, focused on his Caine character from ‘Chapter 4,’ will shoot this summer.

On the comedy front, there’s more work for Keanu Reeves…

    Good Fortune

Aziz Ansari’s film, which brought its first trailer, focused on a well-meaning but rather inept angel named Gabriel (Keanu Reeves), who meddles in the lives of a struggling gig worker and a wealthy venture capitalist (Seth Rogen).

‘Good Fortune’ will be hoping for good luck when it’s released on October 17th.

    btyHjgdcKjgicUy3t8Sxg7

    From there, we go to…

    Power Ballad

John Carney –– him of ‘Sing Street’ and ‘Once’ has more music on his mind with this Paul Rudd/Nick Jonas starring comedy about a wedding singer, a rock star, and the song that comes between them.

Lionsgate showed an extended look at that one, which seems sweet and funny.

    And now…

    Now You See Me 3

The third movie in the magician con-team franchise has Ruben Fleischer in the director’s chair, and he took the stage to announce that a fourth film (with Fleischer back behind the camera) and other spin-offs are in the works.

This third outing blends the classic cast with new recruits such as Rosamund Pike and Ariana Greenblatt. And for the first time since the first movie, Isla Fisher returns as Henley.

Oh, and it’s officially titled ‘Now You See Me, Now You Don’t.’

Fleischer brought a first look trailer with him, but also took time to explain that the vast majority of the magic tricks are done in camera. The story this time sees Jesse Eisenberg’s falling out with his buddies, and recruiting a new team featuring Justice Smith, Greenblatt and Dominic Sessa. They work with Morgan Freeman to rob Pike’s villainous character.

Once the trailer finished, Fleischer announced he’s also at work on another title for the studio, as well as a fourth ‘Now You See Me’ and possible spinoffs, but they’re keeping details on that in a bank vault for now.

‘Now You See Me, Now You Don’t’ will appear in theaters on November 14th.

Feig took the stage with Sweeney and co-stars Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar, and the presentation became a love-fest for the ladies, with Sweeney admitting she’s a huge fan of Seyfried and ‘Mamma Mia!‘, and they made a TikTok together dancing to Abba.

Shults said this is a hard movie to describe, soulful, and a journey.

Ortega took the stage to enthuse about working on the movie. She got the script and fell in love with a scene. She went in trying to get a small role and ended up getting the lead alongside the music star. Her character shifted a lot even during the production, it is quite an experience.

After the talent talks portion, the new trailer played. Trippy!

But it would appear that Jenna Ortega and Taylor Russell are looking to move in together cinematically, as, according to reporter Jeff Sneider, the two popular actors are considering signing leases to star in a new take on psychosexual thriller ‘Single White Female.’

Yes, we’re back in reboot territory, since studios –– in this case Sony –– are still hunting for recognizable IP to churn through their development process and pump out new takes on older titles.

Having recently split from fiancé Sam Rawson (Steven Weber), businesswoman Allison Jones (Bridget Fonda) welcomes new roommate Hedra Carlson (Jennifer Jason Leigh).

The young women quickly form a bond, but as Allison starts to rethink her engagement, Hedra grows jealous and hostile. As Allison learns new details about her roommate’s life, Hedra gets violent in her efforts to get Sam out of the picture.

With Hedra turning more menacing by the minute, Allison finally understands what she’s up against…

Reversal of Fortune’ director Barbet Schroeder made the movie from a script adapted from John Lutz’s novel ‘SWF Seeks Same’ by writer Don Roos.

While the movie didn’t exactly click with critics, audiences were happy to move in, with the $16 million-budgeted film scoring more than $48 million worldwide at the box office.

And in an age when we’re all unsure about who or what to trust, and so much happens through apps, it still feels like a pertinent story.

Nothing has been said yet about who might take the main role and who would be the psycho roommate, but we can see Russell and Ortega in those parts respectively.

Yet who knows? With no director or writer attached, who is to say that the new movie might mix up the story so that it’s a little less clear who is who?

Where else can we see Jenna Ortega?

Rising star Ortega might currently be best known for Netflix’s ‘Addams Family’ spin-off series ‘Wednesday,’ which has been a giant hit for the streaming service and is returning later this year for a second season.

This is what she told Variety about the status of the second run:

“We’re still in the edit. I was doing ADR for it two weeks ago That’s the funny thing about these jobs is you’re done, you wrap, but you’re not really done. So, I’ll probably be working on it until the end. I feel like we kind of had a little bit more trust, and therefore, we felt like we could do bigger, more elaborate sequences, which is nice.”

And here’s what she said about progress on the third, which has yet to be commissioned but is surely a no-brainer:

“We haven’t gotten an official thumbs up or anything like that, but I know that the writers are messing around and throwing out ideas. With a show like that, you kind of want to get ahead of the game.”

Elsewhere, Ortega has been seen in the likes of the recent ‘Scream’ movies (though she’s not back for the new one) and ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.’

Coming up, she has new thriller ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow,’ about an insomniac musician who encounters a mysterious stranger, leading to a journey that challenges everything he knows about himself.

That one, directed by Trey Edward Shultz and co-written by/co-starring The Weeknd, will be in theaters on May 16th.

It’ll be followed by Taika Waititi’s latest, ‘Klara and the Sun,’ a fable about a robot girl designed to help humans prevent loneliness. The movie doesn’t yet have a release date.

And ‘Death of a Unicorn’ recently premiered to great acclaim at the SXSW festival.

Written and directed by Alex Scharfman, it also stars Paul Rudd, Anthony Carrigan and Richard E. Grant in the story of Father-Daughter duo Elliott and Ridley, who hit a unicorn with their car and bring it to the wilderness retreat of a mega-wealthy pharmaceutical CEO.

It’ll be in theaters on March 28th.

Taylor Russell in 'Bones and All'. Photo: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

Russell, meanwhile, is recognizable from the ‘Escape Room’ movies and indie drama ‘Waves,’ and made an impression opposite Timothée Chalamet in Luca Guadagnino’s cannibal drama ‘Bones and All.’

More recently, she has worked on a new thriller called ‘Hope’ for director Na Hong-jin.

The movie, charts what happens mysterious discovery is made on the outskirts of the remote harbor town. The residents find themselves in a desperate fight for survival against something they have never encountered before.

In addition to Russell, it stars Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander and Cameron Britton, and is awaiting a release date.

She’s also attached to a new version of ‘The Thomas Crown Affair’ (the third, for those keeping score) which Michael B. Jordan is preparing to direct and star in.

When will the new ‘Single White Female’ move into theaters?

Sony hasn’t yet confirmed the film at all, let alone when it might actually hit our screens.

And while there is still no properly confirmed date (see below), we do at least know that the second season exists, albeit in raw form as Netflix has marked the end of production on the latest batch of episodes by posting a suitably spooky shot of Ortega.

She’s posing, in true Wednesday form, in what appears to be a graveyard, with a gothic gate and two robed statues carrying lanterns behind her. What were you expecting? Rainbows and kittens? Storm clouds and a pet cemetery are more her style.

While this is the first official picture from the new season, we have had a previous first look behind-the-scenes clip released as part of Netflix’s Geeked Week celebrations…

And the biggest recent news for the new season is the announcement that Lady Gaga will be appearing in a relatively small role.

What has happened with ‘Wednesday’ Season behind the scenes?

Given the sheer level of excitement around the first season (Netflix took the rare step of releasing actual figures since it had something to crow about: ‘Wednesday’ notched up most hours viewed in a week with 341.2 million hours, tied the record with fellow genre powerhouse ‘Stranger Things’ fourth season for the most viewed show in 83 countries and stands as one of only three titles to cross 1 billion hours viewed on the service within one month, along with ‘Squid Game‘/ and the aforementioned ‘Stranger Things.’

That prompted the company to spawn all manner of merchandising and real-world “experiences” and naturally to commission a second season.

The production for Season 2 shifted (for budget and scheduling reasons) from Romania to Ireland, and it had to accommodate a few challenges, including a delayed start due to star Ortega’s schedule on Tim Burton’s ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.’

It’s worth noting that Burton is also involved in ‘Wednesday’ as an executive producer as well as directing several episodes.

Alfred Gough and Miles Millar serve as the series’ showrunners, keeping things on track through the new season.

Who else will appear in ‘Wednesday’ Season 2?

(L to R) Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams in Netflix's 'Wednesday.'
(L to R) Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams in Netflix’s ‘Wednesday.’

Ortega will once again star as mordant title character Wednesday Addams, while Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo are all now regulars for Season 2.

Zeta-Jones plays Morticia (Wednesday’s mother), while Guzmán plays Gomez (her father) and Ordonez plays brother Pugsley.

Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, and Georgie Farmer will also be returning, as will Fred Armisen (Uncle Fester) and Jamie McShane (Sheriff Donovan Galpin) in guest roles.

New series regulars include Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter and Noah Taylor. Thandiwe Newton has a guest role, as do the likes of Christopher Lloyd (who played Fester in the two live-action ‘Addams Family’ movies) and Haley Joel Osment.

Here’s what ‘Wednesday’ show-runners Al Gough and Miles Millar said about the new cast:

“We are thrilled that the entire Addams family will be enrolling in Nevermore Academy this season along with a dream cast of icons and new faces.”

Burton is back as the main director for the new season alongside Paco Cabezas and Angela Robins.

What’s the story of ‘Wednesday’ Season 2?

The first season told the tale of Wednesday’s enrollment at the Nevermore Academy, where she discovers she has inherited her mother’s psychic abilities, allowing her to solve a local murder mystery.

Season 2 will pick up the threads of that, while plunging her into a new mystery, likely with fresh creatures to deal with. The expanded roles for her family members means we can expect more of the Addams clan this time around.

And we predict potential dancing, given the viral TikTok “Wednesday dance” that spread across social media in 2022 following the release of Season 1.

Will Netflix choose to go all ‘Stranger Things’/‘Cobra Kai’ and spread the new episodes out across different chunks? That remains to be seen, but you just know they’ve considered it.

When will ‘Wednesday’ Season 2 land on Netflix?

The streaming service has yet to confirm a formal date, but the show is confirmed to return in 2025.

    • Samuel L. Jackson is the latest addition to J.J. Abrams’ next film.
    • Glen Powell, Jenna Ortega and Emma Mackey are also aboard.
    • The movie is being kept mostly under wraps but will shoot in the UK.

Samuel L. Jackson is famously known as one of the actors with a hefty past credits list, and he’s certainly not short of job offers.

The latest, according to The Hollywood Reporter comes from J.J. Abrams, who has been cooking up a mysterious new movie.

With the director is busy building the cast for his latest movie (more on that below), he’s now adding Jackson to the list.

What’s the story of J.J. Abrams’ new film?

In keeping with much of J.J. Abrams’ past work, this new movie is wrapped in secrecy for now –– while there was some chatter about time travel as a subject matter, that has been debunked (unless Abrams went back in time to fix things!)

But his return to theatrical features is a welcome one –– since wrapping up the ‘Star Wars’ sequel trilogy with ‘The Rise of Skywalker,’ Abrams has been pretty quiet on the movie front, at least as director.

He’s been throwing himself more into TV as a producer, and helping shepherd a few other filmmakers’ projects to screens.

Who else is in Abrams’ new movie?

As with Christopher Nolan’s latest film, Abrams is the sort of director who can lock down pretty much any talent that he requires, short of them being unavailable.

Jackson is just the newest person mentioned; the film already features the likes of Glen Powell, Jenna Ortega and Emma Mackey.

As with everything to do with the movie, we don’t know what roles that ensemble will be taking, as the only concrete information appears to be a plan to shoot in the tax-break friendly studio spaces of the UK next spring.

When will Abrams’ latest be in theaters?

The latest project under the writer/director/producer’s longstanding deal between his Bad Robot company and Warner Bros., the movie has yet to confirm a release date.

    • Lady Gaga will appear on ‘Wednesday’ in Season 2.
    • Jenna Ortega stars in the hit Netflix series.
    • There are no details yet of Gaga’s role.

Though she’s one of the most recognizable people in the music world and has certainly made an impact on film (particularly in ‘A Star is Born’), having Lady Gaga in a project is not always a guarantee of success, as the team behind ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ might be able to tell you (in between the wailing, gnashing of teeth and rending of garments over the movie’s lackluster box office).

Still, given that her song “Bloody Mary” was used by TikTokers recreating the dance scene from ‘Wednesday’s first season, it somehow makes sense that she’ll be making a cameo appearance in the second.

    J6dVmuhWePeMnUx2ujZsp

According to Variety, while the producers had hoped she might take on a bigger role, she’s only going to be a small part of the show. Still, a cameo is better than nothing if you want people talking about your show.

Not that ‘Wednesday’ necessarily needs the help: the series, starring Jenna Ortega, ranks as the most-watched English language show that Netflix has ever released and was nominated for 12 Emmys, winning four.

Season 1 had to be delayed due to the double punch of the writers’ and actors’ strikes last year, and Ortega’s filming schedule on ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.’
