    IMDb Announces First Scripted Series, ‘You’re Not a Monster’

    IMDb just announced its first scripted series, called “You’re Not a Monster.”

    It stars Eric Stonestreet as therapist Max, the great-great grandson of a former psychiatrist-turned-vampire (Kelsey Grammer) whose clients are famous movie monsters, including Frankenstein, The Invisible Man and Medusa.

    (Do we expect “Frasier” in-jokes? Yes, yes we do. And some Sideshow Bob jokes as well.)

    Aparna Nancherla costars as Max’s demon receptionist and Ellie Kemper as a therapist who thinks Max is imagining everything. Other voice talent announced so far: Patton Oswalt and Amy Sedaris.

    Each episode will be only 4-5 minutes.

    “You’re Not a Monster” is created and written by Emmy winner Frank Lesser (“The Colbert Report”).

    It will debut sometime this fall. Look for a sneak peek at San Diego Comic Con.

    HBO’s ‘Chernobyl’ Becomes Top-Rated TV Show on IMDb

    The HBO miniseries “Chernobyl” has officially taken over the coveted top spot on an IMDb list. It is currently the top rated TV show on the IMDb charts with a rating of 9.6. Its rating was even up to 9.7 rating on Tuesday, per Variety.

    “Chernobyl” is an HBO/Sky co-production from creator Craig Mazin. It centers on the tragic and catastrophic nuclear accident that took place in 1986. Over the course of five episodes, it shares the mistakes, lies, heartbreak, and sacrifices of different people involved. The first episode aired on May 6, and the miniseries concluded on June 3.

    “Chernobyl” is in good company on the IMDb list it tops. The miniseries is currently ranked above both “Planet Earth” documentary series, “Band of Brothers,” “Breaking Bad,” and “Game of Thrones.” All of the shows in the top 25 of the IMDb list have at least a 9.0 rating, but only “Chernobyl” and “Planet Earth II” have a 9.5 or above.

    The show has been met with such enthusiasm that Mazin is already fielding questions about whether or not he’d considering doing a second season. He answered that definitively on Wednesday, writing in a tweet that the answer to the question is simply “No.”

    We might not be getting quantity with “Chernobyl,” but there’s no denying the quality.
