Lily Collins is playing Audrey Hepburn in a new Movie.
The film will chronicle the making of ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’.
It’ll adapt Sam Wasson’s book ‘Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M.: Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and the Dawn of the Modern Woman.’
For all its controversial racial casting issues, ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s remains a stand-out romantic comedy drama, one that helped turn Audrey Hepburn into a star.
Now, after looking to make the movie for years, ‘Emily in Paris’ star Lily Collins has seen the development work pay off as she’s attached to play Hepburn in a film about the making of ‘Tiffany’s’.

While there’s no director attached yet, ‘Dickinson’ creator Alena Smith will adapt the script from Sam Wasson’s book ‘Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M.: Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and the Dawn of the Modern Woman.’
Adapted from the novella by Truman Capote, ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ follows the socialite Holly Golightly (Hepburn) as she meets a struggling writer who moves into her apartment building.
Described in the press release as the “first complete account of the making of the film,” the upcoming movie will chronicle the influential romantic comedy through the chaotic pre-production (Capote wanted Marilyn Monroe to play Holly Golightly and felt the studio, Paramount, double crossed him by casting Hepburn) and on-set drama (a crew member was reportedly nearly electrocuted while filming the iconic opening sequence outside the flagship Tiffany & Co. on Fifth Avenue).
Collins hit Instagram to document her joy at the film’s progress:
Imagine Entertainment is backing the film, with executives Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody and Justin Wilkes serving as producers on behalf of the production company. Marc Gilbar will executive produce and Joyce Choi will oversee the development.

Anthony Carrigan is the latest recruit for the ‘Spaceballs’ sequel.
Rick Moranis, Bill Pullman and Daphne Zuniga are aboard to reprise their roles.
Josh Greenbaum is directing for Amazon/MGM.
After years as a rumor and in development, the ‘Spaceballs’ sequel just hit Ridiculous Speed. Or at least, production speed, as shooting is now kicking off on the continuation of the space satire/farce co-created by Mel Brooks in 1987.
Brooks is back in the dual role of the nefarious President Skroob and wise sage Yogurt, while the likes of Bill Pullman and Daphne Zuniga are returning to their parts. Most surprisingly Rick Moranis –– who has been retired from on-screen work for years –– has been tempted back to play Vader-spoofing villain Dark Helmet.

And via an announcement from Amazon MGM Studios, which is backing the new movie, we know that Anthony Carrigan (‘Barry’) is among the newer faces joining for this go-around (more on the others below).
(L to R) Rick Moranis as Dark Helmet and George Wyner as Colonel Sandurz in ‘Spaceballs’. Photo: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
The original ‘Spaceballs’, directed by Brooks from a script he wrote with Thomas Meehan and Ronny Graham, starred Pullman as Lone Starr, a scruffy hero in the Han Solo mold who has to stop the nefarious President Skroob from stealing the atmosphere of the peaceful planet Druidia.
Along the way, he comes to the aid of Vespa (Zuniga) and her sarcastic robot maid Dot Matrix (voiced by Joan Rivers). John Candy played Starr’s faithful half-man/half-dog sidekick Barf.
As for the new movie, it’s predictably wrapped in mystery, with the official logline going for a joke: “the title is rumored to be the name of the movie, and plot details are being described as information about what happens in the story.”
And Brooks has previously described it thusly:
“A Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two but with Reboot Elements Franchise Expansion Film.”
Alongside the veteran cast (and now Carrigan), we can also expect to see Josh Gad, Keke Palmer and, keeping it in the family, ‘Thunderbolts*’Lewis Pullman, son of Bill, playing Starburst, his on-screen spawn.
Who is making the new ‘Spaceballs’?

Josh Greenbaum, who made ‘Strays’ (for which Gad provided a voice) and ‘Barb and Star go to Vista Del Mar’, is in the director’s chair. He feels like a good fit for a new ‘Spaceballs’, since he’s proved he can handle wacky comedy with some emotional undertones.
When will the ‘Spaceballs’ sequel be on screens?
While Amazon MGM Studios has yet to confirm an exact date, but it is aiming for a 2027 theatrical launch.

Kiefer Sutherland hints there could be more ‘24’.
He’s seen a script from show co-creator Howard Gordon.
The actor could return as Jack Bauer –– but not yet.
It has been 11 years since the end of miniseries ‘24: Live Another Day’ saw Jack Bauer whisked away by Russian authorities to an unknown fate. And fans have naturally wondered when –– or if –– they might get to see more from Kiefer Sutherland’s heroic ‘24’ agent, damnit!
“[Latest showrunner and executive producer] Howard Gordon has come up with an idea that I like. Before, the material had not been written, so I would have to say, ‘I’m not the one that’s in the way.’ But something has been written. I think it’s really good. I think it’s really strong.”
Does this mean Jack will be breaking out of Russian prison for more adventures? Only time will tell!
The cast of ’24’. Photo: 20th Century Fox Television.
The original series, created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran for Fox television, originally ran for nine seasons between 2001 and 2014, and spawned a television film called ‘Redemption’ in 2008.
Sutherland starred as Jack Bauer, an agent from the U.S. government’s fictitious Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU). His usual missions involved running around Los Angeles and beyond thwarting terrorist threats such as a nuclear explosion. Each season depicted 24 hours in real time (though you thankfully didn’t see him go to the toilet).
Bauer was famous for his slightly violent attitude to law enforcement, and he wasn’t above torturing suspects to get the information he needed.
And other characters, such as his daughter Kim (played by Elisha Cuthbert) sometimes found themselves in more ridiculous situations (just say the word “cougar” to any fan and they’ll know what you mean).
What else did Sutherland have to say about a potential return to ‘24’?
Kiefer Sutherland in season 1 of ’24’. Photo: 20th Century Fox Television.
Sutherland had more to say about our chances of more Jack on screens:
“ ‘24’ was originally with Fox. Now it’s owned by Disney because of what Fox has sold off, and so it has to go through different channels before it’s either approved or disapproved. Like everybody else, it’s something I would really like to do. I would like to close that story. It was left kind of wide open. So, fingers crossed. There’s a chance. We’ve taken some considerable steps forward.”
You might recall that last year, there was chatter about a movie in development at Disney, so chances are this is what Sutherland means.
When would more ‘24’ be on screens?
As Kiefer himself admits, it’s currently up to the studio to want to make more. But given Disney’s love for IP it can utilize, it’s not impossible to think Jack might be unleashed upon the world once more.

Glen Powell is attached to a new movie about firefighters.
Ron Howard is aboard to direct.
Amazon MGM has picked up the project.
Glen Powell could truly be described as one of the hottest rising stars around right now, and his plan to team up with veteran filmmaker Ron Howard could be something really hot –– literally.
According to reporter Jeff Sneider, Powell and Howard are joining forces to develop a new movie about firefighters that the former would star in and the latter would direct.
The new movie, which is currently untitled, will come with a script from ‘Birds of Prey’ and ‘Bumblebee’ writer Christina Hodson, who Powell and Howard got in touch with and asked to pitch ideas. And Amazon MGM Studios has snapped up the pitch project with the three attached.
Powell would produce via his Barnstorm company, alongside Howard and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment.
(L to R) Kurt Russell and William Baldwin in ‘Backdraft’. Photo: Universal Pictures.
Hodson’s script is largely under wraps, but we do have a few details.
The story is apparently about disparate childhood friends, now elite firefighters, who must rekindle their fractured relationship when a series of deadly fires sweep across Texas.
Certainly sounds like something that would fit Powell’s style, and it’s not like Ron Howard doesn’t have experience bringing fearsome cinematic fire to life.
That movie was so successful that it spawned an attraction at several Universal Studios theme parks. A 2019 sequel popped up, featuring some of the cast (including Baldwin and Donald Sutherland) but Howard had little involvement beyond an executive producer credit.
And indeed, there was chatter last year about a potential ‘Backdraft’ remake with Brian Grazer’s backing, and that included talk of Powell potentially being involved.
Here’s what Grazer had to say:
“Imagine [Entertainment] has always played in that zone where there is that chance, high probability of chance, that it [a movie] will be successful in a movie theater. It’s great for us because we’ve built, over 30 years, over 100 different products –– brands. Whether it’s ‘Backdraft’ which I’m now going to do today with Glen Powell, or whether it’s 24, a movie that we’re going to do in a very interesting way with Disney-Fox.”
We haven’t heard anything about a formal ‘Backdraft’ remake since then, but this sounds awfully like a new take on that concept, given it’ll be about strained relationships between firefighters who must team up to tackle new blazes.
Where else can we see Glen Powell?
Glen Powell as Tyler in ‘Twisters’, directed by Lee Isaac Chung.
Even though he’s said he’s trying to take a break of late, Powell has been as busy as ever.
The actor, who was last seen in ‘Twisters’ will next star in the Hulu comedy series ‘Chad Powers,’ which follows a disgraced college quarterback named Russ Holliday who disguises himself as Chad Powers and walks onto a struggling southern football team to revive his football career.
On the big screen, he’ll be seen in Paramount’s adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘The Running Man’ from director Edgar Wright. That one will be in theaters on November 7th.
There is also John Patton Ford’s ‘Huntingdon’, about a young man who hatches a murderous plot to inherit his family’s wealth, which has yet to score a release date.
And he’s been working on J.J. Abrams’ mysterious new movie, which might be called ‘Ghostwriter’ and co-stars Jenna Ortega.
Beyond those, he recently entered a first-look deal through Barnstorm with Universal, which will begin with the upcoming ‘The Natural Order’ directed by Barry Jenkins.
Finally, he’s attached to the likes of John Lee Hancock’s ‘Monsanto’ and an untitled new comedy that Judd Apatow has been developing to direct.
What else is Ron Howard working on?
Ron Howard in ‘The Studio,’ now streaming on Apple TV+. Photo: Apple TV+.
Howard is no slouch in the working hard department either. You might have caught him recently playing a version of himself on Apple TV+ series ‘The Studio’ and he also has a thriller called ‘Eden’ on the way.
That movie follows a group of people fueled by a profound desire for change; in order to turn their back to society they leave everything behind and set their futures on the harsh landscape of the Galapagos.
It’ll be out on August 22nd.
And given how active Howard is as a producer, there is a laundry list of projects that he’s involved in, too many to document here.
When will the new firefighter movie be on screens?
Despite the seeming drawing power of both Powell and Howard, Amazon MGM has picked this up as a pitch and there’s still a chance it could fall into development limbo.

Following on from the news a year ago that Brooks and Josh Gad were leading the development of a sequel to Brooks’ 1987 ‘Star Wars’ (and other sci-fi movies) comedy riff.
Amazon MGM Studios has announced that, as we perhaps might have predicted, Brooks will be back in front of the camera as well as behind it, playing the mystical, Yoda-spoofing Yogurt.
[Shortcode: cloS09s7a0JwesCtRhfAA1]
Gad is on board to co-write and produce, and will likely be showing up on screen in some capacity.
And that’s not all: there has been a flurry of other casting stories, with Deadline bringing word that Bill Pullman is returning to play Lone Starr, while in even more surprising news, Rick Moranis will be back as the villainous Dark Helmet.
The Wrap, meanwhile, has a report that Daphne Zuniga plans to join her old ‘Spaceballs’ colleagues, playing Princess Vespa.
It’s not just veterans, either: Deadline’s report mentions that ‘One of Them Days’ star Keke Palmer is also aboard the movie, playing an unknown new role called Destiny.
(L to R) Bill Pullman and Mel Brooks in ‘Spaceballs’. Photo: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
The original ‘Spaceballs’, directed by Brooks from a script he wrote with Thomas Meehan and Ronny Graham, starred Bill Pullman as the aforementioned Lone Starr, a scruffy hero in the Han Solo mold who has to stop the nefarious President Skroob (Brooks) from stealing the atmosphere of the peaceful planet Druidia.
Along the way, he comes to the aid of Vespa (Zuniga) and her sarcastic robot maid Dot Matrix (voiced by Joan Rivers). John Candy plays Starr’s faithful half-man/half-dog sidekick Barf and Moranis is superb Vader spoof Dark Helmet.
Though the movie didn’t exactly triumph at the box office (it ended up with $38.1 million worldwide) but has long since been considered a cult classic.
Plot details for the new film have yet to be revealed, but Deadline mentions that people who have not yet read the script describe it as “A Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two but with Reboot Elements Franchise Expansion Film.” Which if you ask us, sounds like the sort of line Mel Brooks would spin about the movie in order to get a laugh.
Who is making the new ‘Spaceballs’?
Director Josh Greenbaum with Reggie on the set of ‘Strays.’
Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment is also aboard, and he’ll producing alongside Brooks, Gad, Jeb Brody and Greenbaum, with Kevin Salter, Adam Merims, Samit, and Hernandez as executive producers.
(L to R) Rick Moranis and George Wyner in ‘Spaceballs’. Photo: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
Moranis is perhaps the most shocking of the new announcements, since he’s barely been seen on screens for more than a decade and hasn’t come back for extensions of other franchises such as ‘Ghostbusters’.
Here’s what he told Heeb magazine back in 2013 about the stalled original plan for a ‘Spaceballs’ sequel:
“I wasn’t privy to what the budget was or anything, but the deal [Brooks] presented me, what he wanted me to do, was not workable. It was two or three years later. He wanted me to… it’s better if I don’t get into the particulars of it. Because it is so specific, it’s counterproductive to talk about it. But I was unable to make a deal, and it would have been something I would have wanted to do. But that ship has sailed.”
Looks like the ship has come back into the harbor!
When will the ‘Spaceballs’ sequel be on screens?

A Snoop Dogg biopic is in the works.
Director Craig Brewer will handle the movie.
‘Outer Banks’ Jonathan Daviss has been cast as Snoop.
The spate of musical biopics in the works continues, and the latest is for someone we’re actually surprised hasn’t already gotten a fully authorized one.
Universal, which has seen box office and awards success with the likes of ‘Straight Outta Compton’ and ‘8 Mile,’ is putting the pieces together for a Snoop Dogg movie. Yes, the star of ‘The Underdoggs’ (okay, he’s done more than that –– see below) will be the focus of a biopic with Brian Grazer and Snoop himself among its producers.
“Not everyone has the courage and vision to see what Death Row Pictures can bring to the table, but Donna and the NBCUniversal team have always understood, which is why I am proud to call NBCUniversal my new home. The Dogg has officially moved into the neighborhood, ya dig?”
Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. on October 20, 1971, in Long Beach, California, is a legendary figure in hip-hop and an influential pop culture icon. His nickname “Snoop” came from his mother, who thought he resembled Snoopy from Peanuts.
The neighborhood where he grew up was a tough one, and he was involved in gangs and had multiple run-ins with the law.
Snoop was discovered by Dr. Dre in the early 1990s and was featured on Dre’s 1992 debut solo album “The Chronic.” He released his debut album “Doggystyle” in 1993, which debuted at No. 1 and became a classic West Coast G-funk record.
Released numerous albums across several labels including “Tha Doggfather, ” “R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece,” and “Doggumentary” His hits include “Gin and Juice” and “Who Am I? (What’s My Name?)”
Snoop has showed a knack for re-inventing himself, including as Snoop Lion in 2012 during a reggae phase and spiritual journey to Jamaica, before returning to rap and even venturing into gospel with 2018’s “Bible of Love.”
The famed stoner has turned his favorite pastime into a business, investing in cannabis businesses, but diversifying to tech, and media (including acquiring Death Row Records in 2022, and expanding it into his Death Row company).
And, perhaps most surprisingly, he’s a good friend and frequent collaborator with culinary and home furnishing icon Martha Stewart.
This year, Snoop sparked controversy when he agreed to perform at one of Donald Trump’s inaugural balls.
Here’s how he responded on Instagram to criticism of the decision:
“It’s Sunday I got gospel in my heart. For all the hate I’m going to answer with love, I love too much. Get your life right, stop worrying about mine. I’m cool. I’m together. Still a Black man. Still 100 percent Black. All out ’til you ball out or ’til you fall out.”
What else has Craig Brewer worked on?
(Left) Eddie Murphy, Shari Headley and director Craig Brewer on the set of ‘Coming 2 America’. Photo: Amazon Prime Video.
While Brewer made his directorial debut with 2000’s ‘The Poor & Hungry,’ it was ‘Hustle & Flow’ in 2005 that really saw him break out. The movie, which starred Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson in the story of a Memphis pimp in a mid-life crisis who attempts to become a successful hip-hop emcee.
It scored an Oscar nomination for Howard and hip hop group Three 6 Mafia took home a statuette for their song “It’s Hard out Here for a Pimp.”
His latest movie, ‘Song Sung Blue,’ which chronicles the ups and downs of Lightning and Thunder, a Milwaukee husband and wife Neil Diamond tribute act, starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson, is due in theaters on Christmas Day.
When will the Snoop Dogg biopic be on screens?
It’s too early for any release date news on this one –– we’ll have to wait and see how quickly the movie comes together, but Daviss’ casting is certainly a positive step forward.
No, don’t do a double-take: this does not mean they’ll be getting steamy in a remake of the pulpy 1998 thriller that saw Neve Campbell and Denise Richards as sultry students.
Instead, the actors are attached to play Vegas legends Siegfried and Roy, the flamboyant famous performers known for big-scale magic tricks and the inclusion of animals in their shows –– hence the name of the new series, ‘Wild Things.’
(L to R) Roy Horn and Siegfried Fischbacher in ‘Siegfried and Roy – Superstars Of Magic’. Photo: NBC.
Not to sound morbid, but it’s more apt to say who were Siegfried and Roy.
Siegfried Fischbacher (who died in 2021) and Roy Horn (born Uwe Ludwig Horn, who passed in 2020) were German-American entertainers who performed an animal-based magic show together as Siegfried & Roy.
They met in 1959 while both were working on a cruise ship and then began to perform together on ships and in European clubs and theaters.
In 1967, they were invited to begin performing in Las Vegas. Starting in 1990, they headlined a show at hotel and casino The Mirage. Romantic partners as well as professional, they become best known for their flamboyant, Liberace-style costumes and use of white lions and tigers in their acts; Siegfried was the magician, Roy the animal trainer.
By 1999, the show had grossed $500 million and they were the highest-paid entertainers in Las Vegas. After 5,750 performances, their career ended in 2003 when Horn was critically injured by a tiger during a performance.
Horn died from COVID-19 and Fischbacher passed from complications pancreatic cancer.
What’s the story of ‘Wild Things’?
(L to R) Tina Fey and Director John Hoffman on the set of ‘Only Murders in the Building’ season 2. Photo: Craig Blankenhorn/Hulu.
Written, showrun and executive produced by John Hoffman (‘Only Murders in the Building’), the eight-episode, hour-long series tells the wild ride relationship tale of two of the greatest showman-magicians in history who, along with their white tigers, are tasked with turning Sin City into a family-friendly destination.
The duo push the concept of illusion versus reality to the extreme, personally and professionally, until tragedy reframes and opens a mystery surrounding their last fateful Las Vegas show.
Law will star as Siegfried and Garfield will star as Roy, and the series is set to go into production this fall.

This new show is drawn from Apple Original Podcast ‘Wild Things: Siegfried & Roy,’ which premiered in 2022, and was the first, compelling in-depth podcast series about the most famous, controversial magicians in history, who were widely misunderstood, frequently satirized and feverishly criticized.
The podcast goes behind the velvet curtain to examine the pop culture icons, lionized by a global fan base for more than 40 years, to deconstruct the illusions they created, the empire they constructed, and what really happened on the night that a tiger attack ended their reign.
Documentary filmmaker Steven Leckart, who wrote, narrated, and executive produced the podcast, will also produce the series alongside Tony Leondis, Kathy Ciric and Will Malnati, who conceived the original podcast.
On the big screen, his last couple of acting gigs included ‘Firebrand’ (in which played Henry VIII) and ‘The Order,’ which saw him as a grizzled FBI agent looking to take down white supremacists who have begun robbing banks.
Upcoming, he has Ron Howard’s thriller ‘Eden,’ which follows a group of people fueled by a profound desire for change. In order to turn their back to society they leave everything behind and set their futures on the harsh landscape of the Galapagos.
‘Eden’ will be in theaters on August 22nd.
He’s also worked on ‘Black Rabbit’ opposite Jason Bateman, with the pair playing siblings who clash over a New York hotspot. That’ll arrive via Netflix but has yet to land a date.
Likewise movie ‘The Wizard of the Kremlin,’ focusing on a young Russian filmmaker who becomes an unlikely advisor to Vladimir Putin as he rises to power in post-Soviet Russia, navigating the new era’s complexities and chaos. Law plays Putin.
What else is Andrew Garfield up to?
Andrew Garfield in ‘We Live in Time’. Photo: StudioCanal.
Next up for the actor in terms of release is Luca Guadagnino’s latest, ‘After the Hunt,’ featuring Julia Roberts as a college professor who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star pupil levels an accusation against one of her colleagues and a dark secret from her own past threatens to come to light.
The movie is due in theaters on October 17th.
In addition to that, Garfield has worked on a new movie adaptation of Edith Blyton’s children’s classic ‘The Magic Faraway Tree,’ about a modern family who relocate to the countryside where the children discover a magical tree with eccentric residents.
That one is awaiting a release date.
When will ‘Wild Things’ land on Apple TV+?
Apple has yet to specify when the new limited series will land on its streaming service.

Producer Brian Glazer says he’s working on a ‘Backdraft’ remake.
He mentions Glen Powell is likely to star in the project.
There are no other official details yet.
Glen Powell is, as the old phrase runs, “so hot right now”. He confirmed his star status with the likes of ‘Anyone But You’ and ‘Hit Man’ and is in theaters again this weekend with ‘Twisters’, which has been picking up some positive reviews like a tornado scoops up cows and cars.
You can imagine, then, that he’s high on studios and production companies’ list of people to work with, and that includes Brian Grazer.
The veteran producer, a business partner of Ron Howard, who has shepherded many movies and TV shows to screens of all sizes, is now talking about going back to territory that he and Howard tackled in 1991.
4640
And if he really intends to do it, he apparently needs A) a fire axe and B) Glen Powell –– as, according to what Grazer told CNBC business series Squawk Box as part of a wider interview about Hollywood’s future, he dropped mention of a potential remake of ‘Backdraft’.
You can find more about the ‘24’ movie in our report below.
(L to R) William Baldwin, Kurt Russell and Scott Glenn in ‘Backdraft’. Photo: Universal Pictures.
‘Backdraft’ –– directed by Howard from a script by Gregory Widen, follows Chicago firefighting brothers Stephen (Kurt Russell) and Brian (William Baldwin), who have been rivals since childhood.
Brian, struggling to prove himself, transfers to the arson unit. There he aids Don (Robert De Niro) in his investigation into a spate of fires involving oxygen-induced infernos called backdrafts. But when a conspiracy implicating a crooked politician and an arsonist leads Brian back to Stephen, he is forced to overcome his brotherly competitiveness in order to crack the case.
It was a big box office hit, earning more than $150 million worldwide (in 1991, don’t forget) from a $40 million budget.
And in case your remake anger levels are rising, you might also recall –– or, for most people, learn –– that a sequel to the original arrived in 2019. William Baldwin and Donald Sutherland were among the actors who returned for the straight-to-video effort that arrived with little heat.
What Else Did Grazer Say About a Potential New ‘Backdraft’?
Kurt Russell in ‘Backdraft’. Photo: Universal Pictures.
According to the producer, we could see the fire effects –– which were pretty superb back in the 1991 effort, and brought to life practically –– given a modern-day make-over:
“AI and digital effects have so far advanced themselves that you can have tiny little cameras, almost imperceptible, that will capture the physics of a fire in a way that’s never been done before… Those are the advancements and benefits of AI and digital effects.”
Will Glen Powell Actually Star?
Glen Powell stars in ‘Hit Man’. Photo: Netflix.
Grazer is not one to spread wild rumours, so his mentioning Powell’s name means there have probably been discussions even if there’s no deal in place. And given that there’s zero official word on any studio involvement (Universal has the rights), it’s a waiting game at this point.

Now, though, Brian Grazer –– whose Imagine Entertainment company produced the show –– has told CNBC show ‘Squawk Box’ that he and 20th Century Studios are in the early stages of development on a movie based on the show.

Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer in ’24’. Photo: 20th Century Fox Television.
Sutherland has commented in the past that he’d be up to return, though perhaps not as the star this time, especially given the physical toll involved in bringing Bauer to screens.
“Howard [Gordon] and I talk all the time and invariably it comes up. The idea of him being brought back –– I’m just spitballing –– I think that’s an interesting idea. You introduce a new cast of people in their effort to get him out, and it lives on from that point. There’s a lot of ways to go about it. I also think it’s such a great idea to take a 24-hour moment in somebody’s life that is desperate –– and that could be a fireman; that could be so many different circumstances. It boggles my mind that someone hasn’t come along and said, ‘Well, we need to do *this* with it.’ So whether it involves me or not, I just think that to do something in real time is so clever –– difficult, but clever –– that I find it kind of shocking that it hasn’t manifested itself into something else and/or bigger.”
With the movie at such an early stage, even Disney wouldn’t set a release date just yet. And you’d probably need Jack Bauer-level skills to discover their plans.

Eddie Murphy is starring as a man looking to win a holiday house decoration competition.
Jillian Bell, Tracee Ellis Ross, Thaddeus J. Mixson, Ken Marino and Nick Offerman co-star in the new film.
The new movie will see Murphy working with director Reginald Hudlin and producer Brian Grazer for the first time since 1992’s ‘Boomerang’.
Outside of the ‘Shrek’ world’s TV specials, Eddie Murphy hasn’t exactly been known for his holiday output.
That’s all set to change this Christmas as he debuts new family comedy ‘Candy Cane Lane’ which finds the star fully embracing the warmth (and in this case, chaos) that is usually associated with thoughts of Santa, reindeer and elves.
And the world of competitive home decoration is also a rich one to explore, featuring plenty of rivalry (heck, there’s even a whole TV reality series about people looking to put up the best display).
Which means that unless you’re of a grinchy disposition, you’ll welcome the first batch of photos from the movie, featuring Murphy dealing with the unique blend of a magical deal and a very famous Christmas song.
Murphy stars in this holiday comedy adventure about a man on a mission to win his neighborhood’s annual Christmas home decoration contest.
After Chris (Murphy) inadvertently makes a deal with a mischievous elf named Pepper (Jillian Bell) to better his chances of winning, she casts a magic spell that brings the 12 Days of Christmas to life and wreaks havoc on the whole town.
At the risk of ruining the holidays for his family, Chris, his wife Carol (Tracee Ellis Ross), and their three children must race against the clock to break Pepper’s spell, battle deviously magical characters, and save Christmas for everyone.
For fans of Murphy’s past output, there’s something of a reunion behind the cameras too. ‘Candy Cane Lane’ is directed by Reginald Hudlin and produced by Brian Glazer, who worked with the star on 1992’s ‘Boomerang’.
The script, meanwhile, comes from Kelly Younger, a veteran of Disney and Pixar animated features who also wrote on various Muppets projects including ‘Muppets Haunted Mansion’. He’s reportedly based this new movie on his childhood growing up on a real Candy Cane Lane in El Segundo, California.
