‘Child’s Play’ Reboot Shares First Photo of Chucky

Yes, there’s a “Child’s Play” remake in the works, starring Aubrey Plaza.

This is what mankind deserves for messing up the planet. We had our chance. Accept the punishment.

The “contemporary version of the iconic horror classic” just started filming in Vancouver.

Lars Klevberg (“Polaroid“) is directing, from a script by Tyler Burton Smith, based on the original 1988 movie.

“Child’s Play” follows a mother (Plaza) who gives her son (Gabriel Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.

David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith are producing, hot off the success of “It,” which became the highest grossing horror film of all time.

The original “Child’s Play” had a budget of $9 million and made $44.2 million in 1988, launching a seven-film franchise following Chucky.

MGM and Orion Pictures just shared the first look at new Chucky:

Maybe they were inspired by the shadowy first look at the new Pennywise from “It.”

There’s no release date for the “Child’s Play” reboot at this point.

  • How Elizabeth Olsen Loses Control (in a Good Way) with Aubrey Plaza in Ingrid Goes West

Elizabeth Olsen and Aubrey Plaza from Ingrid Goes West
Elizabeth Olsen and Aubrey Plaza from Ingrid Goes West

If Elizabeth Olsen had to use social media speak to sum up her experience in the dark comedy “Ingrid Goes West,” it would be #UhOh.

That’s because director Matt Spicer called on the actress to leave her comfort zone and engage in on-set improvising with costar Aubrey Plaza.

“I was definitely nervous,” she tells Made in Hollywood. “I like a really controlled environment.”

But as she got into her character of social media influencer Taylor Sloane, who becomes the object of obsession by recent mental ward patient Ingrid Thorburn (Plaza), Olsen found that boundaries were made to be broken.

“It felt really funny and comfortable to just riff off Aubrey, not knowing if Aubrey was going to be Ingrid or Aubrey was going to be Aubrey,” she says.

“Ingrid Goes West” was a break-out hit at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, where it nabbed the screenwriting award for Spicer and David Branson Smith for its commentary on the fixation and artifices of social media.

“There’s a fine line between admiration and obsession,” notes Plaza. “It’s easy to cross over to the dark side when nothing is real, it’s all just brainwaves and cyber-waves, man, just surfing life trying to catch a wave.”

  • Aubrey Plaza, Alison Brie Are NSFW Nuns in ‘The Little Hours’ Trailer

    Holy mother … superior.

The first trailer for “The Little Hours” dropped today and it is definitely NSFW. Definitely put earmuffs on any innocent souls, because Alison Brie and Aubrey Plaza play foul-mouthed uper raunchy nuns who roll their eyes when a priest lists their sins of “filthy conversation, lustfulness, homosexuality.”

The humor mostly seems to derive from the juxtaposition of the religious setting with the profane language. When a local farmer bids the sisters a good morning, Plaza shoots back, “Don’t f—ing talk to us!”Dave Franco also stars as a hired hand who’s hiding out from a local lord (Nick Offerman), after sleeping with his wife. The highly inappropriate nuns soon begin harassing him and he has to scramble to keep up his disguise as mute and deaf.

“The Little Hours” features quite a few of Hollywood’s comedic talent, including Fred Armisen, Molly Shannon, John C. Reilly, and Adam Pally. The movie opens in select theaters on June 30.

  • Aubrey Plaza Is #Crazy for Instagram ‘Ingrid Goes West’ Trailer

In “Ingrid Goes West,” Instagram is more like “Insane-gram” for the titular character. #Truth!

The trailer for the dark indie comedy introduces us to Ingrid (Aubrey Plaza), who becomes obsessed Instagram star and “lifestyle guru” Taylor Sloane (Elizabeth Olsen). Ingrid begins to model herself and her life after Taylor’s, even moving to Los Angeles to be near her idol.

She manages to befriend Taylor, bu clearly, the friendship goes sour, since the trailer opens with a crazy-looking Ingrid crashing Taylor’s wedding and pepper-spraying the bride.

The movie debuted to rave reviews at Sundance, with critics particularly calling out Plaza’s phenomenal performance. It’s a big year for the actress, since she also drew acclaim for her acting in FX’s X-Men drama “Legion.”

“Ingrid Goes West” also stars Wyatt Russell, Billy Magnussen, and O’Shea Jackson Jr. and opens in theaters August 4.

    %Slideshow-301157%
“Parks and Recreation” is a factory of endlessly quotable lines, and no one delivers those lines quite like April Ludgate (aka Aubrey Plaza). Her uber-dry wit, deadpan delivery, and severe honesty are all to be admired (you know you wish you could be her). So here, then, are some of the best quotes, memorable moments, and death stares ever gifted to the world by Mrs. Andy Dwyer.

  • Best of Late Night TV: David Duchovny’s Big ‘X-Files’ Cast News, Cute Puppies Predict NCAA Champions (VIDEO)

If you’re like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. Here’s the best of what happened last night on late night.

On Tuesday night, Jimmy Fallon welcomed back his panel of adorable puppies to predict the NCAA Championship from among the Final Four. Who will be the national champs – Kentucky, Wisconsin, Michigan State or Duke? Cute puppies crawling over each other in their cutesness = win. Spoiler alert: They must’ve put something nasty in the Duke bowl ’cause no one went for it. No one. Ethan Hawke and Jimmy Fallon broke out their guitars for “Bob Dylan Lullabies.” Willie and Korie Robertson of Duck Dynasty shared some “Tales From the Set,” focusing on Willie’s injuries: David Duchovny was on “Late Show with David Letterman” Tuesday night and talked about the return of “The X-Files” to TV. David said he and Gillian Anderson (Scully) will be back, as well as Mitch Pileggi (Skinner) and the Cigarette Smoking Man. (Yes!) Did David ever know they’d bring this show back? “When they developed Spanx I knew I had a shot.” Still deadpan after all these years. And he looks good. Mulder aged well. He said it’s a strange phenomenon that people still want to see these characters, but he’s grateful. David also talked about parenting and his new album (he has a song out on iTunes – love Letterman’s reaction). He has become the set-up guy for his kids’ jokes. Ludacris was on “Conan” and discussed his new album, his crazy in-air marriage proposal and his beloved ’93 Acura Legend. You’d think a “Furious 7” star would drive something flashier but he still drives it after 283,000 miles. He has replaced everything on it but it’s dear to him. Keith Urban was also on “Conan” and talked about a disastrous attempt to play piano in the dark at a concert. It’s actually really funny, he tells the story well. They also shared an exclusive video premiere for “Raise ‘Em Up.” Kurt Russell was on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and talked about working with Quentin Tarantino for a second time. He said working with T is like working on a pirate ship. He got a credit at the end of “Kill Bill” and he explains why. Kurt also talked about working on “Furious 7” and his crazy mustache. The stache is for the Tarantino Western. Jeff Ross was on JKL and recorded a comedy special at a jail. Jimmy also had a game called “Don’t Talk Into This Mic and Win $10” “Undateable” actor/comedian Chris D’Elia was on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” talking about Justin Bieber’s roast. He had a lot of Selena Gomez fans reach out to him on Twitter ahead of time, demanding he leave Selena out of it. So he wrote Selena jokes.

  • Best of Late Night TV: ‘Parks and Recreation’ Cast Kisses Goodbye; Josh Duhamel, Gabrielle Union Throw Food (VIDEO)

If you’re like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. Here’s the best of what happened last night on late night.

Seth Meyers had the cast of “Parks and Recreation” on his show Tuesday night for their big final goodbye. Amy Poehler, Chris Pratt, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Adam Scott, Retta, Jim O’Heir and Mike Schur discussed filming the finale, and revealed their own pitches for how they wanted the show to end. Since it’s also the one-year anniversary of Seth’s show, they sang an anniversary song for him, but they didn’t rehearse it, so it didn’t go too well. What did go very well was their “Bye, Bye Li’l Sebastian” song on the way out — complete with Jim (Gerry) and Aubrey (April) making out, to the surprise of everyone around them. Yes, that is what you are seeing. Love Retta’s reaction: “I can’t look at it. I can’t look.” Tears! Josh Duhamel and Gabrielle Union (gorgeous!) were both on “The Tonight Show” and played “Random Object Shootout” with Jimmy Fallon. It’s a huge waste of food, and someone will have to clean it up, but it’s still fun. Josh is the ringer! Josh talked to Jimmy about his son, and the adventures in potty training. Bella Thorne was on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” talking about the Disney Channel, Woody Harrelson, and when Christian Bale (her favorite actor) recognized her from “Shake It Up.” She also talked about food; she’s Cuban and loves spicy food. She ate an onion on the air. Will Forte was also on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” talking about the sweet beard he grew for his new show, and his love for “The Bachelor.” Will cannot explain his love for the show, but he spent yesterday trying to catch up on stuff earlier this season. Jimmy brought out Chris Soules, who is apparently just always hanging out on the JKL set. Chris brought Will a rose. Matthew Broderick was on “Late Show with David Letterman” and they had the sex talk. Dave asked if Matthew has had “the talk” with his son, and how he would approach that. Victoria Justice was on “Conan” and they showed when Conan and Victoria were at the White House, singing a Christmas song alongside the Obamas, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Hudson, the Band Perry, and Cee-Lo.

  • Best of Late Night TV: Chris Hemsworth’s Sexy Water War, Jessica Chastain’s Funny Wrigley’s Ad (VIDEO)

If you’re like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. Here’s the best of what happened last night on late night.

Chris Hemsworth, the reigning Sexiest Man Alive, earned his title Tuesday night on “The Tonight Show.” He played “Water War” with Jimmy Fallon, and since the loser had to be water cannoned by the winner, you had to know Thor would lose so we could see him drenched. He even did a little dance as Jimmy hosed him down. Let’s just say the audience approved. It’s kind of a fun game, too – a twist on the card game War – and they had a laugh about it. Could make a good drinking game, beyond water. Chris also showed off his new shorter haircut in his sit-down interview with Jimmy. (He looks so much like Liam now, no?) Chris talked to Jimmy about the perks of being Sexiest Man Alive. It’s actually done him more harm than good, with his friends and family giving him grief. The conversation turned to Chris letting his daughter and nieces paint his nails, as shown in a paparazzi photo. Jessica Chastain, endearingly bubbly, talked to Jimmy Kimmel about her Golden Globes experience. She was right next to the stage so she tried to watch her drinking. She also had a big reaction to Tina and Amy’s Bill Cosby joke. In the second video she explains that she used to clean houses and had a ditty to the “Ghostbusters” theme. And you have to see this (fake) “Wrigley’s Training Video” ad with Jessica and Jimmy, from early in her acting career. It’s very Jimmy Fallon-ish, but also adorably ’80s. New Golden Globe winner Patricia Arquette was also on JKL, talking about her win this past weekend for “Boyhood.” She’s excited for the movie, comparing it to the “Bad News Bears,” but she’s a tomboy so she hates all the dressing up for awards shows. Michael Strahan was on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and they had a sports talk about the controversial Dez Byrant call in the Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys game. Olivia Munn – always gorgeous, but looking slightly different for some reason (not in a bad way) – was also on Seth Meyers’s show and it turns out Olivia is good friends with Seth’s wife. Apparently Seth and his wife are a little too crazy about their dog? He’s their child. But that’s cute, right? Anderson Cooper was on “Late Show with David Letterman” – there’s something about his perfect white hair that’s just hypnotic – and he talked about the rally in Paris. Dave and Anderson further discussed the reasoning for why President Barack Obama didn’t attend the rally. Anderson wondered why VP Joe Biden didn’t go, since “that’s basically what vice presidents exist for.” If you want more on this debate, click on the video title and read the YouTube comments, since the viewers make some interesting points. Aubrey Plaza discussed the final season of “Parks and Recreation” and her lack of plans after the show. Dave is in the same position. So Aubrey asked if maybe they want to hang out. It’s actually a really funny chat. Matt LeBlanc was on “Conan” and it turns out he’s been spending time in London to shoot “Episodes.” He went to an exhibition and met Prince William and Prince Harry. They asked him about a “Friends” reunion and he calmly told them to “f-ck off.” (Not really. He had great delivery on that line, though.) He said they were really cool. He ran into Harry at a bar somewhere too and said he’s a lot of fun. He also discussed how Brits love the c-word. Felicity Jones (of “The Theory of Everything”) was also on “Conan” and talked about the very sweaty Golden Globes.
