It was directed by Danny Boyle (“Slumdog Millionaire”) and written by Richard Curtis (“Love Actually”).

The  musical pulled in $7.7 million overseas, bringing its weekend total to $24.7 million globally. It has a middling 60% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but audiences gave it an “A-” CinemaScore.

That’s nearly a 200% jump in ticket sales from last week.

Its total sales now stand at  $841 million in North America and $2.76 billion worldwide. That’s still about $26 million behind “Avatar,” which remains the highest-grossing film of all time with $2.78 billion in global ticket sales.

    Ms. Moviefone Show Annabelle

If you thought Annabelle was scary…wait till you meet GraeBelle, this week’s host of The Ms. Moviefone Show. She’s unimpressed by the demonically-pigtailed doll from Annabelle Comes Home, and isn’t afraid to say so to the stars and director. Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, McKenna Grace, Madison Iseman, Katie Sarife, and director Gary Dauberman all fall under her spell. Pretty safe to say they i-doll-ize her. I’ll show myself out.

New ‘Annabelle’ Trailer Warns She’s Coming for Your Soul

    Warner Bros.

Annabelle wants a soul and what Annabelle wants, she gets.

A new “Annabelle Comes Home” trailer is here to fuel more of our nightmares in what’s turning out to be the summer of demonic dolls (there’s also Chucky in the new “Child’s Play”).

The newest entry in the “Conjuring” franchise takes place after Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) have acquired the doll and locked it up in a room filled with the evil, possessed items they’ve vanquished over the years.

But when they go out for the night, their daughter and two babysitters get overly curious about what’s in the room. Not-a-spoiler alert: Nothing good!

This Annabelle is the Queen Bee-deviler of them all, as she rounds up all the other creepy toys in a terrifying team-up. It seems like this film is setting up other spinoffs in the franchise by featuring glimpses of other evil items/icons, like Ferry Man, a creepy monkey toy, and even haunted coins.

“Annabelle Comes Home” opens in theaters June 28.

    New Line

Lorraine Warren, the real-life inspiration behind “The Conjuring” films, has passed away at age 92.

Warren died in her sleep Thursday night according to a Facebook post by her grandson Chris McKinnell. He wrote, “Last night my grandmother, Lorraine Warren, quietly and peacefully left us to join her beloved Ed.”

Vera Farmiga, who has played Warren in four films including the upcoming “Annabelle Comes Home,” remembered the psychic investigator on Twitter.

“My dear friend Lorraine Warren has passed. From a deep feeling of sorrow, a deep feeling of gratitude emerges. I was so blessed to have known her and am honored to portray her. She lived her life in grace and cheerfulness. She wore a helmet of salvation, she dawned her sword, compassion, and took a shield of faith. Righteousness was her breastplate, and she has touched my life so. Love you Lorraine. You’re waltzing with Ed now.”

Lorraine’s husband, Ed passed away in 2006. Patrick Wilson, who plays Ed in the “Conjuring” films, also paid tribute to Lorraine today.

He tweeted, “The heavens will surely burn a little brighter tonight. We lost a friend and and inspiration. I will miss the stories, the laughter, and the guidance. Rest In Peace, Sweet Lorraine. Tell Ed I said hello.”

Warren served as a consultant on the first “Conjuring” film and also made a cameo appearance.

What happens when you unlock a room full of items that are haunted, cursed, or used in some kind of ritualistic practice?

That’s what three dumb kids find out in the first trailer for “Annabelle Comes Home,” the third in the demonic doll franchise. It’s the first to take place after Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) acquire the doll.

The movie brings together the entire “Conjuring” universe, since the Warrens have a locked-up room filled with the evil, possessed items they’ve vanquished over the years.

But when they go out for the night, their daughter and two babysitters get overly curious about what’s in the room. Not-a-spoiler alert: Nothing good!

It seems Annabelle is the Queen Bee-deviler of them all, as she rounds up all the other creepy toys in a terrifying team-up.

    Hello, Demonic Dolly.

“Annabelle” and “The Conjuring” universe mastermind James Wan has shared a first look image from “Annabelle Comes Home,” the third entry in the creepy doll franchise.

In the caption, the “Aquaman” director teased, “OK, maybe she has snuck cameos in my other recent films (which I won’t confirm or deny), BUT… she’ll very definitely be up front and center on this one!”

“Annabelle Comes Home” follows 2014’s “Annabelle” and 2017’s “Annabelle: Creation,” both of which were prequels to the first “Conjuring” movie (which Wan directed).

But the new film — directed by Gary Dauberman, who wrote the first two “Annabelle” installments — picks up right after Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) encounter the terrifying doll for the first time. The Warrens make an appearance, but go away for the night, leaving their 10-year-old daughter Judy (Mckenna Grace) with babysitters Mary Ellen (Madison Iseman) and Daniela (Katie Sarife).

They’re in for an unholy night of horror when Annabelle awakens the evil spirits in Warrens’ room of artifacts.

“Annabelle Comes Home” opens June 28.

New ‘Annabelle 3’ Teaser Reveals Official Title

    Annabelle
    Warner Bros.

A new teaser trailer released today reveals the official name for “Annabelle: Chapter 3.” It’s “Annabelle Comes Home.”

It’s set after supernatural investigators Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) bring the possessed doll back to their house. “The Haunting of Hill House” star Mckenna Grace joins the cast as their young daughter, Judy.

Gary Dauberman, who wrote the first two “Annabelle” movies, will make his directorial debut with the third installment.

The Warrens are under the impression that their artifact room, where they keep all the haunted curios from their cases, will neutralize the evil doll. But, as Dauberman said at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, “Of course, it turns out [Annabelle] can also wreak havoc there. And she really awakens the evil within that room and they target the Warrens’ 10-year-old daughter, Judy.”

“Annabelle basically activates all the other haunted artifacts in that room,” said producer James Wan. “So, it’s basically ‘Night at the Museum,’ with Annabelle!”

Ben Stiller and monkey not included.

“Annabelle Comes Home” opens June 28.
