‘Angel’ 20th Anniversary Panel Is Happening, But Without David Boreanaz

The WB The cast of “Angel” will celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary with a panel at New York Comic-Con this fall — minus Angel himself, David Boreanaz.
On Tuesday, NYCC announced that series stars Charisma Carpenter, James Marsters, J. August Richards, Alexis Denisof and Amy Acker have been confirmed for the convention, which runs October 3-6.
Noticeably absent from that list is Boreanaz, who first played the vampire with a soul on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and then on his own series, which ran from 1999-2004 on the WB.
In March on “The Talk,” he said that being there for an anniversary celebration might be tough: “I don’t foresee any major things happening. I just think that getting everyone together would be great. I don’t know how that would happen because there’s so much going on and I’m shooting.”
Since “Angel,” Boreanaz starred on the Fox series “Bones” from 2005-2017. The third season of his CBS series “SEAL Team” returns October 2, which is likely why he can’t make the Comic-Con event.
A “Buffy” reunion happened earlier this year, sans creator Joss Whedon and Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar

‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Is Now Streaming on Facebook

WB Sometimes our lives suck beyond the telling of it, but here’s some cheery news: “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” is now streaming on Facebook.
Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar, shared a video on Facebook, saying, “It’s time to slay all day.”
Also now on Facebook Watch? Fellow Joss Whedon series “Angel” and “Firefly.” Very shiny. All three shows are also on Hulu, but you need a subscription for that.
Facebook is hoping you’ll set up a “Watch Party” with your friends. (Because studies show that most Facebook users have never even heard of Facebook Watch. Oops.) So, as Gellar says, “Grab Mr. Pointy and your Scooby gang” and start watching.
As an added bonus, talent from the three shows are expected to participate in live conversations via Watch Party. The “Buffy” co-viewing event happened today. “Angel” will start on Dec. 1 at 12 p.m. PT; and “Firefly” will launch Dec. 2 at 12 p.m. PT.

15 Times Joss Whedon Made You Ugly-Cry
For a show that was supposed to be scary and action-packed, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” gave us a strong case of the ugly-cries almost on a weekly basis. Blade its creator, Joss Whedon. The writer-director loves to kill off the characters you care about the most, as evidenced by his impressive list of TV shows. He also seems to get a rise out of RIP-ing your favorites on the big screen.
In honor of Whedon’s birthday this week, from “Buffy” to “The Avengers,” here all all the times he made you reach for the kleenex on both the big and small screens.
