The official cast list for the upcoming 22nd season of “Dancing With the Stars” isn’t due to be revealed until next week, but according to a new report, a reigning reality show champ is set to show off his moves.
America’s Next Top Model”‘s 22nd cycle back in December, is now headed to “DWTS” for season 22. (Maybe he’s just a big fan of the number 22?) DiMarco made history as “ANTM”‘s first deaf winner (and its last winner ever, until the show was rescued from cancellation by VH1), and will be only the second deaf contestant to compete on “Dancing,” after Oscar winner Marlee Matlin shimmied her way to seventh place on the program back in 2008.
ABC is keeping the official “DWTS” cast list under wraps for now, so we won’t know definitively whether or not DiMarco will be returning to reality programming until the network makes its announcement on “Good Morning America” on March 8. (“Fuller House” cast member Jodie Sweetin is also rumored to be joining the season 22 cast.) But we’re keeping our fingers crossed that we’ll get to see DiMarco’s piercing blue eyes and washboard abs on our television screens again soon.
Season 22 of “Dancing With the Stars” debuts on ABC on March 21.
“America’s Next Top Model” is the latest show to be saved from cancellation hell. VH1 is picking up the reality series, which was axed by The CW after 22 seasons.
“Top Model” will return for a 14-episode new season, but for the first time, without host Tyra Banks. She will stay on as an executive producer alongside Ken Mok, who runs the show. VH1 said they wanted “Top Model” to be “reinvented for a new generation.”
“After creating an incredible, global brand, I am beyond excited to have the show reborn,” Banks said in a statement. “I will continue as Executive Producer, but must turn my attention to new business endeavors, so I want to find a new host. I’m pumped to identify that person and bring back the show. Top Model fans, you demanded that the show come back, and VH1 answered the call. Get ready for a fierce-a-fied rebirth!”
“Top Model” debuted in 2003 on the now defunct UPN, then moved to the nascent CW. It was the longest running on that network when it was canceled. The series has spun off versions in more than 30 countries, and appeals to young viewers 18-34, which is VH1’s core audience.
UPDATE: Smize, everybody, he did it! The ANTM series finale came down to Nyle DiMarco vs. Mamé Adjei and Nyle won it all, despite Mame’s killer final runway walk. Mikey and Lacey were cut before the runway, although they still walked in the show, along with the other eliminated Cycle 22 models and the hotness of Cycle 21 winner Keith Carlos. And that’s it. From now on, no one is still in the running toward becoming America’s Next Top Model. Sniff. But The CW should still do a special all-winners competition to determine the TOP top model. Please?
Original post:
You wanna be on top … for the last time? Better tune in to “America’s Next Top Model” tomorrow (Friday, December 4) at 9 p.m. on The CW for the Cycle 22 Finale Part 2.
This is not just the final episode of the season/cycle, it’s the final one for the series. After a dozen years and 22 cycles, Tyra Banks’s babies are booching and tooching for the last time.
So who wins: Lacey Rogers, 18, of Arkansas; Mamé Adjei, 23, of Maryland; Mikey Heverly, 26, of Florida; or Nyle DiMarco, 25, of our dreams Washington, D.C.? Better be Nyle. Just saying. And not because he’s the first (and only) deaf contestant on ANTM. He’s just perfect.
The previous episode left fans on the cliffhanger of Tyra poised to cut one guy and one girl from the final four, leaving just two finalists competing in the end. Nye and Lacey had gotten close all season, and Mame and Mikey had started flirting, but there’s no guarantee that that’s how the twosomes break down on the finale. But a Nyle/Lacey or Nyle/Mame finale would be great. No disrespect to Mikey and his amazing hair, but…
Anyway, who are you rooting for to win the whole thing? And will you miss ANTM? In case you want to read it again, here’s Tyra Banks’s farewell to her series, posted when the news came out that Cycle 22 would be the last:
America’s Next Top Model,” where Tyra ruled as the Queen of Everything. She’s been delivering the sass for over 12 years, and we just want to stay thank you.
These 16 gifs of her from the show are proof that there wasn’t and there could never be a better host for “America’s Next Top Model.”

“America’s Next Top Model” (Friday on The CW at 9 p.m.)This is it. The entire “ANTM” series ends with the finale of Cycle 22. Who will win, Nyle, Lacey, Mamé, Mikey, or Dammit It’d Better Be Nyle? We choose that last one.

The catwalk is closed: “America’s Next Top Model” has been canceled by The CW after 22 seasons.
The show’s current cycle will be its last, and the Dec. 4 season ender will be the final bow for executive producer/host Tyra Banks and her crew of judges, stylists, and makeup artists.
“‘America’s Next Top Model’ was a successful franchise for two networks, first at UPN and then The CW, and it became not just a ratings hit, but a global pop culture phenomenon,” said CW President Mark Pedowitz in a statement. “I want to thank Tyra and Ken [Mok, executive producer] for all their years of success in establishing a show that was not just popular in the U.S., but all across the world.”
“ANTM” debuted on UPN in 2003 and was the first series to air on The CW on Sept. 20, 2006. From 2007 to 2010, it was the fledgling network’s highest rated show.
Over the years, the show has seen several judges come and go (including Janice Dickinson, J. Alexander, and Janice Dickinson). And of course, each cycle has produced a top model, like Adrianne Curry and Eva Pigford.
The CW is mulling a retrospective special about “ANTM,” possibly to air in 2016.

Amy Poehler is one of the producers and you can expect tons of great comedy guest stars (including Seth Meyers as a prostitute).
Check out the series trailer:

When his part time job doesn’t pay the bills, he finds success at the nightclub dancing as “Sexy Chocolate.” As the money starts rolling in, Michael must deal with the unexpected pressure of being the new favorite flavor while hiding his “job” from his mother and girlfriend. The DVD also includes a blooper reel.
New on DVD and Blu-ray

But things take an unexpected turn and she ends up having to invent a fake father. Enter Gerard Butler, the ideal fake husband/father.
“Bride & Prejudice”
Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” gets the Bollywood treatment in this charming 2004 romantic comedy/musical. Don’t miss this one. Here’s one of the dance scenes (you may recognize a few of the faces):
TV Worth Watching
“America’s Next Top Model” (Wednesday at 8 p.m. on The CW)
Yes, this show is still on — and it’s still completely insane! Cycle 22 starts August 5 with more guy and girl models, more ridiculous photo shoots and — surely — more bizarre advice from Tyra Banks on how to be “flawsome” just as you are (or at least as you are after one of her makeovers). Watch the drama play out starting August 5.
“Project Runway” (Thursday at 9 p.m. on Lifetime)
That national treasure, Tim Gunn, is back with more advice for aspiring (but for some reason already arrogant) designers in Season 14 of the fashion favorite. Who will be the first designer to break down after a withering critique from Nina Garcia? It would be us if we were there, but instead we’ll just watch and empathize from home.
“True Detective” (Sunday at 9 p.m. on HBO)
“True Detective” Season 2 has its defenders but way more detractors. Oh well. It can still end strong. It could also end weak, and we’ll see which way it goes when Episode 8, “Omega Station,” airs on August 9.
