And that’s just the initial list –– also new are Broadway stars Helen J. Shen and Conrad Ricamora as well as comedian Caleb Hearon.

And on the returning side of things, two more cast members from the original movie will be back: Tracie Thoms, will reprise her part as Lily, the handbag-loving best friend of Hathaway’s Andy Sachs, and Tibor Feldman is on to once again play Irv Ravitz, the chairman of Runway’s parent company Elias-Clark.

What was the story of ‘The Devil Wears Prada’?

Adapted by Aline Brosh McKenna from Lauren Weisberger’s novel and directed by David Frankel, the original follows Andy Sachs (Hathaway), a recent journalism graduate who moves to New York City and lands a job as a junior assistant to Miranda Priestly (Streep), the powerful and demanding editor-in-chief of high-fashion magazine Runway, with Blunt as Emily, Priestly’s primary aide.

Andy initially struggles with the high-pressure environment and Miranda’s relentless demands but gradually adapts, gaining confidence and style. As she becomes more involved in her work, she faces personal challenges, including a strained relationship with her boyfriend, Nate (Adrian Grenier), and ethical dilemmas about the fashion industry’s values.

The movie was a hit, earning close to $125 million in the US and more than $326 million worldwide. Streep was nominated for an Oscar along with costume designer Patricia Field.

With the cast all back for this one, the sequel’s plot would reportedly pick up the story with Priestly still the head of Runway, but the magazine has endured the financial headwinds of contemporary publishing and is in a diminished state.

Blunt’s one-time assistant would now be an executive at a luxury brand conglomerate that advertises with Runway.

Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that Grenier won’t be back, but we do know that Branagh will be playing Miranda Priestly’s husband, which as anyone who has seen the first film knows, is not an easy gig given the hard-charging, perfectionist character’s style.

Behind the scenes, McKenna has written the new script and Frankel is once again calling the shots.

In addition to the sequel, a musical adaptation with an original score by Elton John, is playing in London’s West End.

Vanessa Williams is playing the Miranda Priestly role, and a first look at her on stage (well, rising on to it) is online via the production’s Instagram page.

Where else can we see the new cast?

Liu has appeared in a couple of recent movies, including ‘Red One’ and Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Presence’ plus more recent drama ‘Rosemead’.

Theroux was last seen in Netflix basketball comedy ‘Running Point’ and had a role in ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’. He’s most recently shot espionage drama ‘The Billion Dollar Spy’.

Beyond her ongoing ‘Bridgerton’ duties, Ashley worked on animated movie ‘The Night Before Christmas in Wonderland’ and ‘Picture This’.

Novak’s work has been more behind the scenes of late, though he did have a role in TV series ‘Poker Face’ this year, and he’s a contributor to a documentary about comedian Mitch Hedberg.

Chalamet, beyond her Timothée connection, is probably best known for Max comedy ‘The Sex Lives of College Girls’ and will be seen in upcoming sci-fi thriller ‘Terrestrial’.

Thomas showed up in last month’s comedy ‘Home Delivery’ and is attached to crime drama movie ‘C.R.E.A.M: The American Dream’.

Feldman’s last movie credit was 2023’s ‘Good Egg,’ but he’s been more active on TV, cropping up in ‘Elsbeth’ and ‘Partner Track’.

Hearon has been seen in movies including ‘Sweethearts’ and the TV series ‘Overcompensating’, Ricamora was in ‘Fire Island’ and the ‘Prada’ sequel marks Shen’s film debut.

When will ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ be in theaters?

The sequel is currently scheduled for a May 1st, 2026 release, which should make fans of the original, who have anticipated a follow-up, happy.

Filmmaker Branagh hasn’t been seen on screens since 2023’s ‘A Haunting in Venice,’ which he directed and starred in as detective Hercule Poirot.

He lent his voice to this year’s animated adventure ‘The King of Kings’, playing Charles Dickens.

Upcoming for Branagh besides his work on the ‘Devil Wears’ sequel is ‘Mayday’, the new action adventure comedy from writer/directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.

That one follows an airman whose reconnaissance mission over Soviet territory goes awry, forcing him to crash-land and survive in Russian wilderness while evading capture or rescue.

It also stars Ryan Reynolds and Maria Bakalova, and is reportedly going to be released in September, though there has been little promotion for it so far.

Branagh also wrote and directed a new thriller ‘The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde’, which has Jodie Comer, Patricia Arquette, Michael Sheen, Tom Bateman and Vicky McClure among its cast.

The movie has yet to lock down a release date.

Finally, there is a movie, currently called ‘Atonement’ (which may change given the slightly well known 2008 drama), which sees a troubled marine seeking to reconcile with the survivors of an Iraqi family he and his unit fired on back in 2003, that one, with Reed Van Dyk in the director’s chair, is in pre-production.

    • Disney is in early development on a ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ sequel.
    • Writer Aline Brosh McKenna is scripting the new movie.
    • Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt may return, but Anne Hathaway is yet to be confirmed.

One of the movies where there is lot of chatter about a potential sequel, but little actual forward movement, has just shifted into more likely territory.

After years of rumors regarding a follow-up to hit comedy ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ (which starred Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and, in a breakout role, Emily Blunt), Disney reportedly now has a sequel in the early development stage.

According to Puck (and since confirmed by the likes of Deadline), original screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna is writing the script, with producer Wendy Finerman aboard and director David Frankel in talks.

While Streep and Blunt, are reportedly close to a potential deal to return, Hathaway (who has been outspoken about not being convinced it could work) is not yet, But the trio recently reunited at the SAG awards and made plenty of references to the original.

Assuming the cast can be all be convinced to return (is that truckloads of cash being driven to their respective homes we hear?), the sequel’s plot would reportedly pick up the story with Priestly still the head of Runway, but the magazine has endured the financial headwinds of contemporary publishing and is in a diminished state.

Blunt’s one-time assistant would now be an executive at a luxury brand conglomerate that advertises with Runway.

We’ll have to see if this one actually makes it out of the development phase, but Disney is rarely one to let an opportunity like this go to waste.

  • Adrian Grenier Angers Fans With Now Deleted 9/11 Post

The VeThe Internet is still lashing out at <a href=“Entourage” star Adrian Grenier for the tribute he posted on social media on Friday, September 11.

In the now-deleted Instagram post, Grenier wrote, “R.I.P. the 2,996 Americans who died in 9/11. R.I.P. the 1,455,590 innocent Iraqis who died during the U.S. invasion for something they didn’t do.”

This struck some readers as “disrespectful” and “classless,” although others agreed with his sentiment and debated attackers in the comments. Grenier deleted the original post — keeping up his other, less controversial 9/11 tributes — which upset some of the people who respected his defense of the innocent Iraqis and did nothing to stop the people who were already outraged.

For example, here are some comments — posted with another photo — that seem to be about the deleted image:

bless you, but your spineless liberal ass then deleted it because you have NO BALLS!! Hahaha. You disrespectful fuck, you should move to Iraq and make movies there, I bet they would support you or atleast cut your head off on live TV

Your a faggot that deserves to die in hell

I was watching entourage but now I’m not cause ur in it

    Vinny chase u fucked up

Lol American are crying u cuz of his post ???????????? all what he did is posting the truth does it really hurt that much I mean the truth ????????

As a U.S. Marine innocent Iraqis kiss my ass u could walk in my boots wtf have u done for this country if I ever meet you if kick u in ur mangina cause you are a punk birch

Another Career ended. I will not support anything that you are involved with. Your career just took a turn like the Dixie Chicks straight to the toilet.

    YOU SUCK

Thank you for what you said. Sad there’s so much hate shows how sensitive not just 9/11 but also how sensitive people are to the Iraq war. If it wasn’t for the Iraq war a lot of things would have been prevented including Isis, their creators met in Americans prison. They were marginalized and radicalized in under the U.S.

Wow. Well, at least it’s sparking a debate. Extreme reactions, like these, can cause a chilling effect where people no longer share their opinions, which is kinda sad when this country is all about free speech. But free speech goes both ways, and at least Grenier got a few people to exercise that right on an important day.

  • 16 ‘Entourage’ Cameos You (Probably) Forgot About

    %Slideshow-293107%
It seems like every actor working in Hollywood with a few hours to spare appeared on an episode of “Entourage” at some point. The HBO hit had dozens of cameos and guest stars throughout its eight-season run, so if you weren’t cast as a client of Ari Gold’s or a Vincent Chase hook-up, apparently you were nobody in the mid-2000s. The “Entourage” movie hits theaters this week and is set to be chock-full of famous faces. Before the boys are back on the big screen, look back at some memorable (and not so memorable) cameos from “Entourage”s star-studded history.

  • 9 Things You Need to Know About the ‘Entourage’ Movie

    %Slideshow-282276%
The gang is back in the “Entourage” movie, which picks up about seven months after the series finale and finds everyone living a whole lot larger with Ari (Jeremy Piven) running a studio and Vince (Adrian Grenier) directing his first movie. That’s Hollywood.

Last year, we were invited to “Turtle’s Malibu beach house” set, where we chatted with stars Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, and director Doug Ellin. Here’s the vital info we learned about the big-screen baller reunion, which hits theaters June 3rd.

    1. Vince is now a director.
The movie is called “Hyde,” a modern-day version of “Jekyll and Hyde,” where Dr. Hyde is a Tony Stark-style genius chemist “with a dark side,” according to production designer Chase Harlan. E is producing, Vince is directing, and Drama’s got a small role. “The guys have a lot riding on this new movie, and because it’s Ari’s first movie at the studio, the stakes are very high for all the characters,” says Connolly. Harlan says the movie-within-a-movie is full of “all kinds of crazy, drug-fueled, violent, sexual mayhem. Hopefully, we’ll get to see it.”

    2. Turtle is rich!
Turtle now resides in a palatial Malibu beach pad, which is actually in Palos Verdes. “I guess after eight years, he finally grew up; it’s nice,” says Ferrara. “But I feel like he probably rents it and his furniture is all staged.” He adds, “I’ll miss the older guy who’s grinding it out, making $200 a week driving. But, what I love about it is he’s made all this money and he still drives the guys around. He still picks Vince up and drives around in his Escalade, which I wouldn’t have any other way.”

    3. Vince is now living in Madonna’s old Hollywood Hills home.
“It’s funny, because I was on a run up through the hills and I was just looking at the house and was like ‘Wow, I’ve never been in there. I’d love to go in there sometime.’ And then, Monday morning, there I am, inside the house,” says Grenier. “I can’t believe that I’m competing with Turtle. I mean, what has everything come to?” he laughs. Production designer Harlan explains the house now belongs to fashion designer Leon Max. “The house was filled with 16th century Van Dyke paintings and things. We were like, ‘Yeah, better have a professional take those out before we get there.’”

    3. E’s going to be a dad!
Says Connolly, “Sloan (Emmanuelle Chriqui) is pregnant and ready to pop, but she still hasn’t taken me back. She’s having a hard time getting over the mother-in-law thing. Which, who could blame her, right? So, it’s me preparing for the baby and there’s a few mishaps along the way. And a few other ladies, which has been interesting to shoot. But Sloan is who he wants and he wants to try to get his family back together.”

    4. Drama’s still Drama.
Explains Dillon, “Drama has not really [evolved]. At times he’ll get there and fall back down. That’s what makes him fun though, you know? Drama is always teetering on the edge of complete failure. ‘Hyde’ is a major motion picture, and he feels like this part maybe could be the one that could take him to the next level.” That is, if Drama even makes the final cut.

    5. Turtle is dating MMA fighter Ronda Rousey.
“I kind of ask her out and it becomes like a business deal and she gets confused by that, thinking that I actually wanted to date her and kind of normal, blue-collar guys never really ask her out; they’re intimidated,” explains Ferrara. “So it’s definitely a good little love story, romantic angle with her. I think it’s going to be pretty cool. I’ve been a fan of hers for years now and she’s the real deal, both in and out of the ring.” Does she end up kicking his ass? “There will be fighting. There will be blood, yes. And it’s going to be mine,” laughs Ferrara.

    6. There are cameos galore.
As the trailer shows, everyone from Liam Neeson to Haley Joel Osment shows up. But the bar was set even higher in terms of cameos for the movie. “When the show first started, we begged people to do cameos and the first few were favors. Now it’s, ‘Hey, I want to do the movie.’ Bob Saget came with an idea and he got in. So it’s really like, ‘What are you thinking? Are you OK with poking fun at yourself?’” Connolly personally lined up the Piers Morgan cameo. “He always told me that he was a big fan of the show. So then Doug was like, ‘Piers Morgan has seen every episode and he passed the trivia test.’ I asked him a few questions to see if he was bullsh*tting me or not. He’s seen every episode. So yeah, that’s it.”

    7. Ari is still dishing out abuse.
“The dynamic hasn’t changed much,” says Connolly of Ari’s feelings for E. “He’s got a lot to say. The fans that love to hear Ari rip into E will not be disappointed.”

    8. The pressure is on to live up to that other hit HBO TV-show-turned-movie.
“We have to live up to ‘Sex and the City,’ which obviously is, I think, the second most successful R-rated comedy ever made,” director Doug Ellin said. “So we’re just trying to make a good movie and whatever happens at the box office happens, there’s nothing we can do to control it.”

    9. Expect the movie to be a super-sized episode.
“It’s basically an episode on steroids,” says Connolly. “People always complained that the episodes were too short, so now they can’t complain.” Adds Dillon, “Eight seasons didn’t feel like enough for me. It felt like we could have gotten ten. Now with this movie it feels like we’re doing another season in a way, all wrapped up in one, which is cool.” Says Ferrara. “[Sometimes] it literally feels like nothing has changed, this is just season nine, absolutely.”the entourage movie

EntourageHBO’s “Entourage” is headed to the big screen this summer, bringing Vince and his boys and all their Hollywood antics to theaters across the nation. Vince (Adrian Grenier) is making his directorial debut that’s already over budget, Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) is making moves on UFC champ Ronda Rousey, and the other guys are up to, well, whatever it is that they do. Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) is looking as tan and rich as usual.
