9. ‘Pocahontas’

While Disney’s early ’90s animated renaissance had already reached its pinnacle by this point, “Pocahontas” nonetheless proved itself a worthy addition to the Disney catalog. Though no more historically accurate than the summer’s other big epic, “Braveheart,” this film offered a visually and sonically lavish look at the famous historical figure.
