You can’t blame Sony for wanting to move in a different direction after the lousy critical reception to “Spider-Man 3.” But was the answer really to reboot the series and give fans a rehash of Peter Parker’s origin? At best, “The Amazing Spider-Man” is redundant. At worst, it makes Marvel’s most iconic hero into an unlikable jerk.
